So far the CPU OC's the same but the P6T is sooo much more stable and no reboot/coldboot B.S. and memory bandwith isn't even close.. I'm priming right now and I will post some camparisons but the P6T runs much nicer, just perfectly..
Attachment 90059
Attachment 90060
But I just can't run the CPU at 4.0Ghz I can't believe it but it just won't run that speed!! I have no idea why or what to change to fix it. I have now been priming perfectly for 2 hours at 3.967 with a Bclk of 209 on the 19-multi at 1.35Vcore set in bios, memory at 1670 8-8-8-24 Dram bus volatge at 1.66V everything else on auto..
On that note I have a conspiracy theory and I wonder if anyone is on board...
I think intel has put some sort of ceiling on these 920's because why on earth can I run 3.967 at 1.35Vcore Prime Stable but 4.0 is impossible unless maybe I put 1.45 volts through it but there is something strange here I just don't get it.. Anyone else with a 920 want to jump on board with my conspiracy theory.. It's like they said hey if you buy the cheap one your gonna have to WC it to get it to 4.0...
anyone try F4i???
I did on the extreme...just like F4e on extreme...did not see anything different, including the turbo bug is still there. It runs in turbo +1 multi even with prime loading all 4 cores/8 threads + linpack running. Basically just a higher multi on this bios...though maybe they did that on purpose. But I like turbo better, so back to f4c. But dont know if ud5 f4i is different.
anyone else getting a bug where cpu-z shows the bios value +1 for CAS latency? Which do I believe?
On boot screen sometimes as well is shows 2gb installed but bios and windows always shows 3gb (not really a problem just was curious about this)
whoever tested the latest beta
can you see if the default bios settings have USB keyboard enabled now
i asked them to put that in
annoying when i have to go and change that setting in bios hehehehe
i havent received any emails regarding these latest betas
i wouldnt advice you guys flash to every bios you see but if you want to have a play or have some specific issue to fix and know the beta is going to resolve it fair enough
i have to test this cold boot bug some are talking about
ROFL at Guacamole and consiracy theories
you're crazy dude :p: :D
Dino its been agreed unofficially by Tim in a conversation i had that the best way to stay up to date on betas is to visit the Tweaktown BIOS thread.
Thats kinda the unofficial distribution method now.
the newest Beta Bios can you download @ www.jzelectronic.de ;) :p:
i think this is the page where stasio download all the files ;)
No he published f4i on tweaktown before them :D
No its called binning. :p:
My previouse QX9650 could clock to 3,598ghz with 1,25V stock, over 3,6ghz it needed a serious bump to ~1,35V and 4ghz it needed north of 1,45V to get it stable. :yepp:
I know other QX9650 that others reached 4ghz with less then 1,4V. You just found your wall.
F4i on x58ext still has default USB keyboard and mouse disabled, dont know if UD5 same or not. I wish they would enable both of those...cut down on my routine of enable mouse, enable keyboard, disable azalia sound...since I have soundcard.
Yep, you ran 4.2ghz, not 4. I just saw your prime screen in other thread. When running prime all 4 cores, your multi should drop back to 20x200, but on all the latest bios turbo = 1 extra multi. Turbo +1 multi is total TDP limited only, (not limited by the number of cores active like +2 multi), and I believe there is a (hidden) bios setting where this TDP limit can be enabled or disabled. If disabled like on most recent bios, practically speaking turbo = 1 extra multi. If the setting exists, I wish GB would let us turn it on or off.
If you ran 20x200 (turbo off) you would need much less vcore to run 4 stable instead of what you did, which was run 4.2 stable. If use bios where turbo is functioning with TDP limit on, you only need same vcore to run turbo on vs turbo off.
i still get emails sent
i dont really mind either way and i tell you what a lot of the times i usually search google for GB site for betas or other sites
i'm not a member there but stasio is doing a great job here so as long as i'm subscribed here i'll keep up to date heh
hey deanzo that is REALLY odd mate
have you tested other boards and have the same issue...sounds like CPU issue (probably high voltage bug that shamino mentioned)
CFX just fine here...
just a fresh win install..
any reason to upgrade from the f3 bios?
I saw that some people disable HT. Isn't HT something you want to have enabled?
I mostly game, but there are times where I use Photoshop and a little bit of movie editing.
so disable as default and when I am going to use those other apps, then enable?
I really don't care about synthetic benchmarks, I'm interested in real world performance.
So with HT disabled, the ONLY advantage of i7 over say a C2Q is the better memory bandwidth?
