;) yeh, perhaps i will have to wait for dfi's am3 board or buy an sb750 mb but i dont hope so... it all depends on dfi to deliver a deneb bios.. but i shure think they will.. even if sb600 will hold me back 100mhz i will be very pleased with that upgrade..
what investments you speak about exactly? mb, gpu... ?
You won't let it go :p:
Good question TBH. I hope AMD will put even more effort in AOD now before P II are released so everybody can have decent experience with this useful OC software.
I'm lucky to have Gigabyte 790FX DQ6, because every option from AOD is working for me as it should. And I'm using AOD all the time to lover my CPU voltages and clock while I'm browsing the net and watching movies.
Lazy BIOS programmers forgot to put negative vCore selection in it. I can only increase it ....
Wow.
A lot of people obviously read that link and got really upset.
Here is one of the comments I received, it was a guy who posts here by the name T_Flight.
watch yourself, because you have alot of enemies now that want you gone.
I just love threats of violence. ;)
Nuff said.
informal Peace man
Yeah... busy with work lately... :(
But... MSI said they do support DDR3
Here:
http://global.msi.com.tw/html/popup/.../en/index.html
I think your judgement on him is way too harsh and I suspect clouded with your own not insubstantial biases.
It is an extraordinary thing on a forum to have someone in his position offering the information and insights that he does.
Just because he also engages in banter from time to time, is no reason to be holding him to some crazy unrealistic standard of supposed posting behaviour.
MSI says about AM3 processors that support DDR3 memory. That's true.Quote:
Support DDR3 memory is the most important feature of the AM3 CPU
MSI's AM2+ motherboards (the ones in the list) support AM3 processors. That's True.
The two above statements do not conclude in any way to the fact that MSI's AM2+ motherboards support DDR3 memory....DDR2 and DDR3 Dimms are physically incompatible...they use different pinout and slot types...
AM3 cpu's infact have dual IMC, so they support both DDR2 & DDR3 memory. That's why they will be compatible with AM2+ motherboards, due to their ability to work with DDR2...
Hope i helped...
Another trolling post I see, and taken out of context. This individual needs to be banned! There was no threat of violence. He was warned to watch his behavior here or his posts would be reported. Here is the *entire* message that was sent...
You are a real piece of work you know that? I saw your attacks on DrWho? I along with others reported them. Hope you have a very short stay here. You should be banned...permanently. Not only did you attack DrWho? who is a nice guy, you also insulted Movieman, and all the Intel users here. If I ran my mouth like you did on here I'd be embarrassed to ever show my face here again, and many of us hope you never do again. If by some miracle you are still allowed to roam and troll these forums, watch yourself, because you have alot of enemies now that want you gone.
Everybody here has this guys number. He is a TROLL plain and simple. He goes onto one forum andf trolls and then jumps to another forum and backstabs some more.
Threats of violence... Give me a break.
you've been sleeping :P, new beta bios for "Added new micro code for Support futurity AMD CPUs" since last friday
get it here
or direct link
I will upgrade mine in about 1 hour and wait for the am3 BE cpu to arrive sometime in april
Mate you're really upset aren't you?
It's a bloody link, you can go to Aces and read it if you like.
Trolling is when someone comes into the AMD section from the Intel section and stirs up trouble. Isn't that what you're doing?
If you want to argue then take it to pm don't mess the thread up.
Wait, I thought the Phenom II 940 "is unlocked", so it is classified as a BE chip then, right?
If not then what chip would come close considering the clock of the 940 is set at 2.8Ghz, and only one chip set to be clocked in as faster than it. Which would be the 945 at 3.0Ghz.
Being that the 940 is so far the only one stated as being unlocked, and it's getting released on the initial release date, I don't understand your comment about April, unless I miss something somewhere. Please explain if I did.
Yes, the 940 is unlocked, but as far as I know it will be am2+ only and I intend to get a am3 so Later I an upgrade mobo and ram a not having to change cpu again (unless they are making a 940 am3 unlocked, but from what I've seen on the processor listings, they haven't)
Irony. If this is your view then why did you start this by making his PM public?
This is what I call trolling, You post someones pm to you and when they reply you say "take it to pm and dont mess this thread up"
Do you see what I am talking about or are you to busy thinking about your smart ass reply?
That doesn't make any sense.
How does one come from the Intel section? People sign up to Xtreme Systems and then will access heaps of the sub-forums.
It is people like you who are determined to categorise people as "belonging" to a semi-conductor company(just because you feel that way), when what you have is simply people who just want to use the best product regardless of the company responsible for its release.
This of course entails posting in whatever forum takes their fancy.
Ok guys, stop it and get back to topic :).
@possessed
940 should be 3Ghz ,i think.And it is unlocked :).
I know, but according to this:
http://i37.tinypic.com/33wr0qc.jpg
it will be an am2+ part only and what I really want is a 3GHz unlocked AM3 part and I still haven't seen any reference about them
my only hope is that the 945 is also unlocked, but well have to wait for Q2 for that
http://i34.tinypic.com/2crahxh.jpg
I bet AM2+ cpu's work in an AM3 board. AM2 cpu's also work in AM2+ boards.
I wonder how well the unlocked 720 triple will do. Had planned to get an 940 but things look like they will sell em >300$ at least. SO I migth just stick with an 720 and will have some money left for this LN2/dice thing.
I hace read somewhere online few weeks ago that AMD does recommend mobo makers not to add support for the 45nm cpu's. On the server side it also looks like shanghai will only run on at least dual power plane systems. For reference check tyan's mobo features here. None of the single power plane boards supports 45nm's.
@TICTAC: Nice to see you again.
