If you guys want me to try anything else ( like running a system at high voltages for a week and then returning it to stock condition, clocks, voltages, etc ) let me know.

That kind of abuse for weeks at various combinations of high voltage (one high vcore, one high vPLL, one high vTT, one high all etc) should of course be tested for resultant degradation, by trying to run the cpu at default speeds at default voltages. Also, if you know the cpu's previous stable overclock (ie: 4GHz @ 1.304v stable) whether or not the cpu can still perform as stably as it did previously when overclocked should also be verified using a stress test like linpack, not just verifying that they run. I assume you intend to do this?

Just running them flat out and waiting for one to fail is not really conclusive in that degradation will not be demonstrated, only final failure will be demonstrated with long term, constant abuse. Common sense tells us that that will happen anyway. It is (or should be IMO) the quantification of the degradation and the speed of the degradation process that should be of most interest. Also, by using multiple cpu's, each cpu with only a single voltage set high (ie:only vcore, rest stock) as Dinos22 suggested, will allow elucidation of exactly what degradation effect each voltage has.

I am already doing that.
First and harder in my opinion, they're running at high overclocks ( for the given cooling ) and voltages.
Degradation shall appear on the max clocks as well, not only on lower clocks.
However, just to be sure, I'll be checking them at lower clocks and voltages as well.
I've got my notes ( on paper lol ) for every CPU stating some stable and some benchable frequencies + voltages-sets with details so I can check them out as I progress.
I have some frequencies and minimum voltages to get them fully stable ( 24 hours prime95 ) so checking for any kind of degradation is easy to be done ;)

I stated that already lots of times here, and in this post as well ( check above ).

I assumed so. Just from your last post it just seemed a little unclear, but now upon re-reading I realize you meant using a whole new system and just running it hard for a week then retesting at stock clocks/voltages etc. That would probably be a good idea, either that or just benching it hard (1.6 - 1.9v) for a few hours per day for a couple of days and returning it to stock and testing for any degradation. People have reported that even a couple of hours at 1.4 - 1.5v caused degradation, with the cpu needing 0.02v more to re-stabilize for a previously stable OC.

I'd love to see them all at stock but at the lowest possible voltages. Then a max overclock with minimum voltages.

ok, your CPUs are running fine 24/7 but we've seen real evidence of CPUs getting dead after one LN2 benchsession. why??
my guess is that frequent rebooting (which is common while benching) may just do the trick (because voltages swing a lot from default to "high" back and forth)
may be you can set up a rig that will reboot all the time or sth?

Because during LN2 sessions those chips more than often get up ta 2.0v? ^^

I´ll bet that these CPU´s will break that mighty one month period and go forward.

All the systems are running fine.
Actually yesterday I left all of them run at stock frequencies with the lowest possible voltage ( as noted in my first tests when I originally bought those CPUs ).
They passed the stability test ( the same test I used when I bought them ), so now they're up again overclocked and volted :p:

I have a pos 8400 that suck up volts like pasta, so I'm tuned into this thread for the long haul lol.

my qx9650 has the same problem about needing a LOT of volts to overclock beyond 4ghz

Thats crazy! Makes me feel much better about my vtt. My e8400 needs alot of voltage just to get to 3.825ghz which I run it at 24/7.

Good to hear they are all ok. Any chance of making up a table of the various systems, the voltages each system is running, and how long they have been running fine? Keeping it in the first post & keeping it updated would be great.

BenchZowner, I know you have a busy schedule but I was curious, is it possible to post the multi x fsb frequency for each individual pc and their corresponding vtt volts? I have a theory that it will take much more than mere volts to kill these chips. Maybe actually run as high a fsb as possible to justify the actual vtt being supplied. maybe do that for just one of the PC; which ever one of the boards allows you to gain the most fsb. My theory is that this should really change the complexion of the tests. Again, this is only speculation since I have no clue if you're already running high fsbs.

Edit: I've primed small ffts @ 7.5 x 560 on my Rampage Formula on Vista x64 and it passed for an hour; I was reluctant to go further since my temps were going through the roof. I have a crappy chip which needs 1.440v for this particular overclock.

what is VTT's effect on fsb+cpu mhz and is there any proven results from using to low to the right vtt for overall cpu mhz acheived?

Ive always left this at 1.1-1.2v but have seen guys max this voltage out?
