Well, some people claim AMD had always slightly lower OC's on 64 bit OS's however I had my Windsor running at 3.5Ghz, which would mean I should have gotten higher than that in 32 bit OS. However, looking at 99% of the Windsors, ~3.5Ghz is about the wall of the CPU so Im not entirely sure.Quote:

I've got a few questions on a few things that puzzle me....
1) I've read up on the 790FX somewhat, and to me it seems as if the major difference is lack of integrated graphics. Is there anything else significantly different?

I decided to order a 790GX + SB750 board off of Newegg. I did rush + overnight so hopefully it will be here for the weekend.
I went for the most expensive one available since it was the only one to have three slots. We'll see what it does for my 9850BE. On 790FX+SB600 it currently maxes at 2.8, 1.4V. Even that isn't fully stable anymore.

So the Asus one is a bit of an oddity because that middle black slot only runs at 4x. I'm not entirely sure why it's even there and am guessing it was just to save on design costs?Quote:

I'm not really too worried about the PCIe situation. My own benchmark results on my K9A2 showed me that the difference between PCIe 1.0 and 2.0 were small (but favored 1.0) and the difference between running x16-x8 and x16-x16 were marginal if any using my two 4850s. I'll use the x4 slot for my x8 RAID controller. However, if results are lack-lustre, this board will become the mobo for that HTPC machine I've been planning (and postponed until next week).
Well I have everything except one 4850 that still needs to come in. I have the new board and h20 and 1 4850.. I am assebling tonight...
