Does this even matter on B3 chips?

Nice result! We have the same batch. :)

Could you compare the first 10 digits of serial with my CPU's digits? It can be also found on the CPU's box.
@ MrMojoZ,, Yes it does make a differance ..
If your Bios has aTLB fix Enabled it disables some performace to keep it stable...Even though B2 are almost long gone the Fix is needed for them. The B3 is not affected by TLB. If i rember correct the Fix was designed to slow the HT/Cache down On the chip . In return it could funtion with out tripping TLB ... Even though i have a B3 when i turn On the TLB fix it does take a sublte hit in performance ...
Youll notice that (some 9850's/9950's and Lower B3's) overclocked to say 2.8/3.0ghz show a slow Everest and or Supi...I know those programs arnt everything but with those two programs and even WinRar you can easily tell if The Bios TLB fix is screwing with your performance..Or even slow ram(My ram timing suxs) .Also i was gonna use Vista but dint want to run the Sp1 fix and TLB disable program to get full performance ...My TA770/mod Bios and SP3Xp32bit take care of that..
Im also staying away from AOD untill i grab a 750chipset if i need it...Im happy for now..
9647966E80 514 ;) My last three are higher but your first four digi's are 9648 and mines 9647..I think the last three are the cpu's order from the run. The higher the last three are the most recent the chip is i believe. Not 100% shure so if any one know it be good to Know...
I selected this Chip from CentralComputer in SantaClara.. was the Highest last three diggits with 820BPMW of batch. i installed it and booted @ 3.3ghz with 1.31v first try...i did not ry several chips. Myfirst 9950BE ..Guess i knew what to look for and Kinda got lucky :yepp:...
I have not seen any Chip with higher than xxxxxxxxxx400 untill yours and mine for the last three serial #'s of the 0820 BPMW's. Ive also noticed theres a Gap in 0816 - 0820 as others have posted for 8850-9950BE's...Must of been a die change maybe?
Beside that ,i hope this is the Norm or better for 65nm..
P.S. i decided to push mine right from the start, I am watercooled and havnt botherd to try Air on this one. The temps are suprizinly low compared to my B2 witch used the Same cooling and Mobo...
guys , a clock interrupt on the secondary processor means my cpu is not stable at all , right?
You guys are wasting you're time and money buying the 9950 the only thing it will bring to the table is much more heat and higher electric bill:D Get a New SB750 board and put you're 9850BE in there and you will see a difference in OC:)
i must have the bought the worst amd cpu in a long time...its sucks so much it isnt even funny
i guess we will have SB750 and 9950BE fun be very soon :D
gave up and gave the cpu to my dad...the crap in my 9950 is strong
Well TDP wise ,, Even with the 140watt baseline i really like my new 9950 .Ive read every thing i could find out about 140wattTDP..I overclock things and Power was NOT my Real concern above stock specs. If so id just keep it stock and use CnQ...People forget that compared to Intel this is totally different technology having x4cores on the same silocon including the IMC. Way different than two seperate silocon Intel pieces with a IMC on the Mobo...
Hmm i was thinking again:rolleyes:
In that respect.... "Maybe i dont really know ,Do Intel Mobos consume a little more power to run thier chips compared to AMD?"
In theroy or fact we have to run more CPUvcore and or NBvid to run our chips beacause of the extras put into them like the IMC.
I have mine @3450mhz ,which is up to par Clock wise compared to my 6000+@3.5ghz..You know that it is a lot faster @ everything than my 6000+ was and the System draws the nearly the same power practicly...
Even the Idle/load Temps between Both CPU's @3500mhz and 1.6volts is the identical on my setup....
Ironic,,Id say the 9950 clocks exactly how the X2 65nm's do and with about the same heat ! Only differance is i now have FOUR cores instead of two with the Same Temps as my X2 at the same Volts and Speed...
Thats a big + in my book...
I only grabbed a 9950 to see how its 65nm cores stack up against my X2 6000+@3.5ghz...
:up:Just a Simple Bench run Showed me this.:yepp:
XP32bitSp3 TA770/3870x2 stock and 2gigs of6400LLK Patriot 800mhz ram and 650watt PSU was used.
Default setting in 3Dmark were used and 8.7beta 5.2 something driver.
6000+@3.5ghz@1.6v
CPU = 2700points = 13704 3Dmark06
9950BE@3.5ghz@1.6v
CPU = 5100points = 16880 3Dmark06
With both Chips benched under 3Dmark06 @ 3.5ghz the 9950 was 3200+ points faster with same Mobo and 3870x2@stock setting...
P.S. Not every chip will clock well but the MOBO and Bioses are Key. I also want to grab a 750chipset despite my Oc ive already achieved.
I have No disapointment at all:D 45nm will be the prize Chips to Have .As i see it the 65nm line up has Improved sustantially over my 9600BE B2..with this in mind before i even grabbed one i knew what i was getting into.
Don't particularly care for you're tone with me Wood Pecker! Considering its my opinion based on what I see going from 9600BE to the 9850BE as far as the Heat as well as the what most have to put to their CPU in terms of voltage to gain OC :yepp: also since I have spent considerable time debugging this Platform since the beginning you might consider being a tad more receptive to what much more knowledgeable people on this subject have to say on this subject Wood Pecker:D rather then being a :banana::banana::banana::eek: Its a suggestive statement that I made for people to think about nothing more. Considering I as well as some other Dedicated members on this forum have literally donated thousands of hours towards helping the cause for AMD and their loyal user base not to mention everyone that runs or thinks about running Phenom /790FX Platform on this forum I would re think out you're selection of approach and tactic with post in the future please;) If it were not for me as well as a number of other dedicated people on this forum you would not have this concise Data Base that you can access at current date!;)
Hey guys just got back from being away in Cinncinati and Fort Worth for 7 days...
heres that screenie I promised
http://img.techpowerup.org/080724/3.4ghz1.jpg
im going to try coredamage tomorrow
WOW thats really good man is that Prime Stable ...Maybe????
Titan,
Thanks for the AOD Shot.. can I request the "Performance Control" tab of AOD.
I want to see the voltages you used and stuff.
Ton
here ya go

just ran core daMage for about 35 seconds and my cpu got to 72c then I shut it down........I dont really want to torture my system like that...
Nice clocks on the Phenoms everybody I did lurk the xtremesystems forum but finally decided to get sign up and I'm a huge amd fan can't wait till sb750!
I'm really hoping AMD does a price drop on the Quads soon, since Intel just dropped the prices on all of there Proc's it's alot harder to resist the dark side, I've been with AMD for EVER, but man 189 for a Q6600 G0 that'll do 3.6 w/out fancy tricks is nice...
I've had 3 Socket A's, 2 Socket 754's (one of which im typing on right now 8NPA SLi FTMFW), and 2 AM2's, I don't mind staying w/ AMD's not ideal quads, but the 50 dollar difference and the practically guaranteed OC is just a deep wound.
The one GREAT thing AMD has going for them is that if more of the SB750 reviews come up showing 3.5ghz on 1.35v that's a great win for them, plus AM2 supporting 45nm is great, and if they can OC even better than what we've seen (since the initial 45nm OC article was on a SB600 790FX) we could have some really really good potential here.
but waiting for these 790GX's are MURDERING me does anyone know if it's this week or not?
I also got tired of waiting to and i got one of these,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813138102R , from the looks of it sb750 only helps crappy processors oc good, so if figured that the mobo is cheap enough that if my processor sucks i can easily sell it for that price again and if my process is good i just saved a lot of money:up:
Hopefully we can get the 750's this week! I actually just ordered that biostar for a friend for a a CHEAP dual core build
I'd really like to see what A B2 can do on A SB750 board since some of them can be had for under 100 bucks if you find the right person it'd be nice to see consistent 3.0ghz on them :)
