Does EK have GTX280 and HD4870 FC blocks coming soon ?

Eddy, which brand of the Radeon 4870 did you use has your reference (Visiontek, Sapphire, ect..)? Do you know of any company that doesn't follow the reference design? I don't want to buy from a company and your block not fit on the card. What is the "8/10 & 8/11 Screw In" option?

Also, thank you very much for making this block! I can finally order the parts for my new PC. Thanks again!

Yeah, im undecided about that. 2 GTX 280 blocks will cost me £140 which is a lot of cash, especially as I would have to buy ramsinks/backplate for the memory on the back of the card too. If there were mounting kits for the MCW60 i'd be seriously tempted as I can get a pair for £54 which is quite a difference.

EDIT: Talking of which - eddy do your GPU only blocks support the GTX 280?

the cards that are out right now are all refernece design, therefore any brand will fit with the ek blocks

Right, i see the conversion. I was talking more about whether e-tailers would carry them for less than their store. Plus i am assuming if i buy from EK store it would have to ship overseas

Damn those 48X0 blocks are looking as sexy as anything EK has ever put out. Think this time I am going to go with the plexi top and nickel plated, its just too lovely to pass up

Well, in the end I just couldnt resist and bought a pair of EK 280 blocks! LOL! So now Im just gonna have to keep these cards a good long while to make sure its a decent investment!

Sure looks purty. Now I'm debating putting the copper RAMsinks on, or taking the plate off the stock ATI heatsink similar to dnottis did to keep it all cool.

That D-Tek block sure looks good on that card.....but have a question.

Why on earth does everyone, well...a lot of people, anyway....lay their cards, cpus, etc., on the outside/top of an antistatic bag when the outside is conductive? It's only the inside that's non-conductive. Just seems doing what you've done is just making it so easy to shock the card into becoming non-functional.

i and many other people probably had no idea that the out is conductive :shrug:

Well, thats mostly true, but the type of ESD bags used for components actually have a layer on the outside of the metal layer. The metal in conductive bags are the ones used with most video cards, and tend to not carry a charge, also known as a type II ESD bag

From IRT (Innovative Research Tech) makers of ESD bags

Agreed, the look of the ram plate is a bit funky. Along with the snail-looking block, I'm not sure about that... However, I do know it will perform nicely so I'll wait a bit to see if iandh or someone will create aftermarket backplates before taking a decision on which block.

The EVGA block is the most tempting for myself right now but at 180$ and iffy availability, it's a bit hard to swallow.
