Sweet router mod man! Does that gauge have a function or is it for looks only?
I agree.. I bet it took ages to make ?
where did you get the stuff to make it
is that a motherboard i see built into the router??
Apprently cause I see some harddrives and IDE cables.
Thanks guys.
The gauge displays case temperature. It is a solid state temp sensor.Quote:

Ya, a couple months worth of free timeQuote:

The wall are made of lexan and bolted together with some aluminum L-bar. I got both at mcmaster.com. The mesh is from an arts and crafts store and the plates are from the metal cover of project boxes.Quote:

Ya, it's got all the components of your average computer minus optical drives.Quote:

If your interested in reading more. I got a better explanation of everything on my website. link
Hmmm...I have an extra router gathering dust since I switched to wireless. If I ever find the time maybe I'll try something similar. I see from the website it's more than just another pretty face. Nice job!
Well done scifikg, a very interesting and unique project. Looks good too :)
Some newer pictures of my case. The red front pannel is what the rest of the case is going to look like when I'm done :D
In the pictures it looks kind of weird with the blue and red but in real life it looks quite nice. Especcialy with sound activation on...
Very nice job on that window!
like it,well done :D how long did u do that ?
Hmmmm, the total hours spent on the window is probably like 6 or so. Not all at once though. I spent about 30 minutes getting the design I wanted drawn onto the side pannel and then I taped it all up and redrew it onto the tape using permanent marker (30 minutes there) Then I got my dad to help me out and teach me how to use a jigsaw at the same time because I'd never used one before. I've done windows with the dremel before, but this would have taken a year if I didn't use the jigsaw. So about 4.5 hours cutting out the rough outline, and then about 2 hours dremeling, filing and sanding down the edges. The rest of the time was inbetween steps (washing and stuff) and sanding down the paint and then spraypainting black. So it took me a fairly long time, but it was spaced out alot and I wanted it to look just right, so I put in whatever time that took :) .
I've attached the initial design, and 2 other ideas i had but didn't go with..
Thanks guys, Glad you like it, I know I do :)
Not exactly my kind of taste but I´ll gotta give you the effort. Let alone the finish is indeed stunning :toast: -
What case is that?
Thanks, Antec sx1040b.
I see that LED fans are being used alot here..
I want to get 2 of those but there are so many brands... Cooler-Master's TLF is good?
But I think afterall I should get the cheapest I can find, doesn't it?
Here is my case. I will post new pics when I have fixed the cable mess and the watercooling are working...

From the front: (extrem crappy pic)

I decided to redesign a case so it fit my odd desk top And Was just different from other cases. So i bought an Enermax CS-181-B. Just cuz it was large and very plain
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/1.jpg I stripped it down and set it on my bar and was just picturing where this road was going to lead.

I went to get another cup of coffee to help me think. When I turned my back on it, I heard it make some smart ass remark to me. Yeah it was flipping me crap. So I took it to my lab and I cut it, I mean I cut it good!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/5.jpg
that shut it up!! I was disappointed when I saw that the mobo tray was one pice the whole lenth of the case!! But the saw fixed that. and my drill made it fully removable. When I cut out the top usb and firwire ports I thought I would put in a window but instead I built a new top and began putting the case back together!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/27.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/20.jpg
a new shape case was born
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/29.jpg
There needed to be more holes in this creation. So it was 120's for the top, bottom and side window
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/37.jpg
I wanted the rad to be mounted to the case but externally
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/69.jpg
but external water res out of PVC pipe and caps. cost less than $5
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/77.jpg
Time to reveal the SECRET of WeldZilla 2 STEALTH no messy, ugly wires hanging every where!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/87.jpg
then went nuts and repainted it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...dZilla/103.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...dZilla/100.jpg
then fired it up
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...dZilla/110.jpg
Then I painted the desk to match the case set it all up
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...lla/desk_1.jpg
And we lived happily ever after!!!!
WeldZilla aka. WZ
WeldZilla - You did one hell of a remarkable job, my friend. That has to be one of the most original cases I have seen in a long time.
