Spawne32, is it possible for you to test the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro?
include please also some Katana2, or some Ultima 90.....many thanks for efforts! :)
How about an OC test? Not many on here run stock.
When i do part 2 this summer, with all new heatsinks vs the TRUE, i will do OC'ed runs as well. Probable lineup for this summer includes
TRUE baseline
Retail 45nm Quadcore HS
Xigmatek Red Scorpion
Xigmatek Achillies
All of the new scythe coolers
IFX-14
Thermaltake DuoOrb CPU Cooler *new one*
New stuff from noctua
newer coolermaster heatsinks
 looking forward to blowing my brains out over testing all of these
ey Spawne, will you also be adding TIM applications (spread or dot style, etc)?
tim application methods for this kinda review tend to be all the same across the board, you start changing the way you apply the tim, you add a new variable to the equation, is the tim making proper contact. lol The only heatsink for this review your reading that i didnt use the dot method, was the Xigmatek direct touch heatsinks, the tim wouldnt spread out properly from the usual base design. I used line method and it was most effective at bringing it right up to the TRUE performance. Of course, i always checked to make sure proper contact was acheived.
are you doing a test for both the Noctua Heatsinks ? The one with the 92mm & one for the 120mm fan ? I "hear" the 92mm heatsink isn't half bad. Oh and whats wrong with foxconn products ?
Which noctua heatsinks are you referring to? And the problem i had with foxconn was with their tech support people when i was having problems with the foxconn mars motherboard i bought not booting up. They basically told me to get lost because i was using the overclocking settings advertised for the board. They said they couldnt help me with it the warranty doesnt cover making changes to the bios.
NH-U12P & NH-UB9.
Now i needed to know that so that i wouldn't buy foxxcon blackops and dig myself in. DFI for me next then.
If noctua wants to send one out, ill put it in the review, i have those new fans though, just no equipment to test them, if vapor decides to do another fan review again, im gona send him one.
Spawne32, even with you been Satans personification on Earth, I must say the site is not that bad looking.
Whats the chances of me been banned from your forum?
ive already been banned from my forum once http://smiliesftw.com/x/hs2ugh.gif what does that say about your odds
Spawne
I have an Thermaltake Armor case w/20 cm side case fan. I would like to mount my P5E3 Premium with my QX9770 in it with one major hitch. My Ultra 120 Extreme is 2.5 cm to tall.
Could you please advise an alternate CPU Cooler? The best that will fit, if possible.
Thanks
you need somthing thats 140mm tall, check out some of the specs on the heatsinks that are listed on the charts for sizes, dont exceed 140mm in height though. ;)
Thank you
Hi all,
Sorry for bugging again, but I need to know your thoughts on the Ultra ChillTec TEC CPU Cooler - ULT33186. I'm concerned it won't clear my ram (Super Talent Project X DDR3-2000).
I am more interested in overall performance & cooling without major case mods. The price aspect - honestly "I don't care".
Thanks
P.S. - One other thing - please give thoughts on lapping the CPU & CPU Cooler. (Is it truly worth it?) Thanks, again!
** Sorry for all these newbie questions, just want to do it right the first time around. **
i would advise against the chilltec, it is very limited by the TEC cooler. And i hear often storys of them burning out completely.
I've decided - Noctua NH-C12P Quiet CPU Cooler with 120mm Vortex Control Fan
It comes in next week!
Thank You Spawne for all your help & reveiws & Rip for sending me to this thread.
