I like the MSI due to the pci ports placement
I get my Gigabyte end of this week
newegg has em for 139 jesus no way 139 bucks for that, i'd rather grab the P35 chipset DS3R for 139.
ony way i'd get it was if it was a beast of a clocker and.. well.. its sketchy
yeah do that, im in for the mATX, remember high FSB, lower multi does give anything, only cpu clock and 450FSB is enough for air/water with E6600 w. 9 multi
Fix whine 170 bucks in Denmark:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Unfortunately, mATX boards have always been more expensive than the corresponding ATX board of the same manufacturer. It seems the IGP drives prices a little up (wouldn't surprise me, the boards in fact have a €30 GPU embedded in them... lol). Well, either that or the fact that mATX boards are smaller (which means they need more time and money spent on circuit routing)... hehe
While I do run my main rig with an ATX board and independent GPU (it's for gaming, after all... :D), I still love smaller form factors. mATX is the most common, but I'd be VERY happy to have a G33/G35-based socket 775 mini-ITX motherboard with a PCI/PCI-E slot. Of course that won't happen, and even if it did happen, it would cost like €200 just for the board, but it's fun to think about... hehe
Cheers.
Miguel
P.S.: I dream of the day we can have mATX boards without IGPs... Can you imagine a P35 or X38-based mATX board with FULL OC capabilities?
[EDIT]Well, it appears there is a manufacturer that makes ALMOST such a board (mini-ITX with PCI-E 16x slot)... Only thing is, it's based off the 945GME (yuck), does NOT have Dual Channel Memory, and only runs socket 479 CPUs (C2D max). Also, it seems VIA is releasing mini-ITX boards with both PCI-E 16 AND mini-PCI slots, so maybe that's a good indication for the future. But enough with the :off: :p: [/EDIT]
yeah, please come without integreted gfx
got my DS2R. NICE. Running 356 X 9 = 3200 on a E6600 24/7 at 1,2 vcore. Mems on 445 5-5-5-21 at only 1,9
Nice, what mem sticks are u using? no chance to run it @400 cpu fsb?
How high can your cpu go @ default multi?
-tam2-
it is at default multi, it refuse to boot 400, but will try 420 later, maybe a FSB hole or something. Cpu has done 3,8 stable on water-P5B deluxe.
Sig my sig for mems
So is the 1:1 memory ratio still missing?
yeah, but only release bios right now. Maybe other bioses enables the ratio 1:1
I have an E4400, but I am wondering if I do the pin mod to the chip if I can get more memory dividers. I think I saw somewhere that the non-800 MHz FSB chips have more memory dividers. Is this the case / can I fool my mobo into giving me the extra dividers?
I can run my chip all day long at FSB 333, but it craps out around 350 (thats at 1.325 V, extra voltage doesn't help). My D9 ram is crapping out a little passed DDR 1100. I can't really crank the DDR voltage up too much as it is my HTPC and the ram gets bad airflow.
it has been tried without success (bsel mod of an e4400 on this gigabyte)!
Any hints on how to disable Speedstep/EIST? I set it to disabled in BIOS, but that doesn't seem to be working.
I really just want to get CrystalCPUID to work so that I can undervolt. (I can run at 6 x 300 FSB at .85 Volts which is perfect for my htpc when idling)
i can't recall how gigabyte sets vcore if you change it. i think that if you keep stock vcore, you'll be able to change the vid in windows.
otherwise, it overrides it. you'll have to experiment to find out.
also, look into rmclock for vid manipulation as well. i'm using it with my dfi board, so i do 1.48v @ 3.6 and 1.31 @ 2.7
I use RM clock to set the voltage for each multiplier, then I lower voltage in BIOS. (-0.1v)
This way I lower the whole delta..works perfect!
My e4400 gets fed by this:
6 x 270 @(1.050-0.1)v = 1620MHz@0.950v
7 x 270 @(1.050-0.1)v = 1890MHz@0.950v
8 x 270 @(1.050-0.1)v = 2160MHz@0.950v
9 x 270 @(1.050-0.1)v = 2430MHz@0.950v
10 x 270 @(1.212-0.1)v = 2700MHz@1.112v
It's crammed in a very tiny HTPC/server chassi, with an airduct for exhaust from CPU.
IHS also gone so temps are nothing to even bother writing about :D
Is that with sticks in your sig?
I got this cheapo Mushkins:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146118
The board loves'em!
I get:
1100MHz 5 5 5 17 @1.8v
1160MHz 5 6 6 17 @1.8v
Memtest stable looping #6 and #7
..not bad me thinks.:D
tried SPD timings? My Crucials PC5300 D9GMH overclocks way more on SPD than manual set. DDR1000 4-3-3-8 at only 1,9
any1 tried memset 3.3 beta2? It works fine here, but cant get it to save the profil at boot.can you? Everybody try set your performance level from the regular value(mine is 9 at 356FSB) to a lower value, (mine is stable at 5). You will see a gain:)
