This time I'll actually do some testing and report back. I was a little busy when V2.0 came out. Now I can't wait for this one :)

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but I searched and came up with nothing.

How do the legalities of this work? Can you really toy with/alter MS code? I would think in one of their EULA's they would have a clause about that?

bad news: xsos 2 ruined my boot.ini on my main xp installation. but fixed :D

we are covered under a few license agreements.
One of which states we can not sell XSOS for profit
Two we are required to sign an NDA to assure that no Source code is leaked
Three the GNU Lesser General Public License.
The DX9 compatibility only requires the GNU bit but we required M$ assistance for the DX10(.1b) compatibility layer.
As such OUR EULA specifies you are free to USE, distribute, and Share the Operating System provided it is freely given away and that it is not issued in a corporate environment Aka IBM can't use XSOS but Mom&Pop Computer stores are allowed to use it freely for whatever.

I think they let him do it and help him cuz he seems to be able to build a more efficient OS than they ever could and when time is right they're gonna send him to the aliens and pretend nothing happened. :D *sarcasm*
