I am willing to gamble on the buffalo firestix since they are only $20 more then the G.Skills i was going to buy (PK kit). But my question is, let's say I strike out. What is the elpida going to get me? 450-500 on loose timings is all i really care for if I strike out.
I think that's possible with elpidas. Don't quote me on that though, but I recall seeing someone with 450 5-8-8-20 or something
500MHZ cas5 is possible with 2.1V,2.2V depends on how luck you are
Damn, so there is a huge upside but also a huge downside. Lol. I think the PK kits would do better then the lowside of elpidas? Oh well we'll see I guess. Newegg has a 30 day refund policy.
Seems to me if you really can't fork out the money for the sure thing it's almost worth settling with promos... They are starting to clock pretty well...

I am in the market for some DDR2 800mhz and if this has the micron chips as you say I will buy it ;)
I think it be true. Makes it a really good deal :) And I can't remember if it was Hutch or someone else that said their ds3 burnt out mem sticks, and it could very well be the case for me. My firestix are in bad shape, and have never been exposed to obscene voltages. Maybe it's time for an rma soon. If anything, I blame gigabyte and not buffalo
Yup that was me, My S3 has a bad ram slot and it's killed 2 sticks of ram on me... Luckily they were 512mb elipda sticks... Not only has it killed 2 sticks it completely degraded the performance of the other two that still work... Sticks used to run @ 910mhz 5-5-4-5 on my P5W DH @ 2.2v...
Both sticks had stock voltage going through them when they died... Not even gonna bother RMAing them...

First of all I am not willing to risk others people money because simply it is not my own, when I add a memory to my list I need to make sure that this memory will be 99% D9 that is why I removed the Buffalo because it doesn’t fit in the criteria and I don’t want people to come and say Kemo told me go and get this and I found bad ICs underneath that makes me feel bad so if there is anyone willing to risk their money okay go ahead but I am not responsible for what will happen moreover I cannot track those buffalo kits because there is no production date and nothing that I can take as a reference

You mentioned something about that price of IC d9 will go up, could you give me a link to confirm that.
