Is Nitrogen possible too use? Just a little just too get pressures upp?Quote:

Does Toshiba rotary comps use the same startup caps? I have one sitting in my garage, without a startup capacitor, and I was wondering how many farads I would need. Also need a little help with the wiring. I'll post some pictures afterwards if it's ok.
Sry but what about R14 + Argon? ... I would go for these gasses! :)
No nitrogen, no CO2, no dry-ice problems, no R50! ... just my 2 cents! ;)
R14 is a good choice yes, but the price stops most people from buying it. Who wants to spend a fortune on gas though, really?
@ brettbeck:
Yes ... that's true ... but what about small amounts? :)
The methane had no capacity to carry a load. :(Quote:

R14 neither ...Quote:

Methan's enthalpy is 510 kJ/kg , R14 only 135.7 kJ/kg and ethylen 482 kJ/kg @1bar...
What about Argon? What hx temp must we hawe too condense argon or a r1150/Argon mix?Quote:

Of course but they compensate each other
I'll quote myself here and add the number that was on the compressor: C-6RB137HI3AA.Quote:

You won't/aren't condensing Argon in the cascade. Taken from this post (the whole thread is a pretty good read BTW):Quote:

This theory was originally introduced here by Cryo-tek, but Mytekcontrols was able to explain it a bit better ;)Quote:

yes, but no problem testing, just to higher the hi side pression. only this must help.
i test some argon/co2 mix and no significant gain or loose but i got hi side from vacuum to 1bar+-
maybe argon without co2 help
i need r14!!!
Like we talked about before... getting the small amounts that we use can be difficult :( . I mean, even if you get a small bottle of some special gas... you would probably still need to buy an expensive regulator too.Quote:

Regulators aren't that expensive! ;) You don't have any friends who may can give you small amounts, do you? :(
I bought some small 2kg CO2 bottles @ ebay! ^^
404Power - I suppose it depends really, I have known proper Ethylene regulators in this country sell for around the £200 mark  ! Top of the range ones of course ;) . I could get Argon no problem at all, my dad has many friends who have workshops with full size Argon tanks for welding. I may need to get a small amount of Ethylene soon, so I will see how easy and cheap I can get it!
And for CO2... yeah you can often get nice bottles on eBay, but I think the problem in this country would be finding somewhere that will fill it for you. When I think about it, I don't know if BOC (our main gas supplier) would fill a random gas bottle if they don't know any data about it (ie pressures). And knowing them, it would almost certainly need to pass safety procedures before they would give it you.
If there is no inspection sticker on the tank, yes it will have to pass inspection. They may let you do a trade in.
For heavens sake ... UPDATE PLEASE!!! :D
Wanna see this baby in action with some more XS-like gasses @ 3rd! :D ;)
i try one e6800, it can do near -115 load -120 idle, i need another freons. need to get some euros :)
The board we used was the EVGA 680i - there must be some kind of a problem with VCore Mod since it crashes if more than 1.8v is used (don't even reboot without pushing the reset button).Quote:

Nice work Ricky, now we just need R14 for -140 load :toast:
when i mod that board 1 resistor burns... i substitute that resistor and it comes alive but dont work good @more than 1.8v. or that cpu is no good with voltage or that board isn't ok or are not nice as overclocking board. another strange thing is that cpu runs pi @ same top speed it runs 3dmark
another thing, evap and cpu contact is no good, need to try better, but there is a good possibility that only becomes better with cpu lapping, but that is another fly...
with another cpu i got the same temps on cpu with the same evap @ less 15ºc
need to finish this cascade and get some hardware to burn as i like! i just start making cold becouse i need to get more mhz and i'm losted on compressors etc lol
