That has nothing to do with this thread :)Quote:

Nosfer@tu- Thanks for saying that!

Go to general hardware-->video cards
You can find answers there. This thread is only for 7900GTO mods.
(And by the way..your card is running too hot)
SF3D, what was your gain between OCing your GTO with the pencil mod and without ?
From (1.82V)1700MHz stable --> (2.05V)1940MHz stable. Mem can do 2GHz but there are artifacts and scores are lower.
Haven't done Vgpu mod yet. It might help me to go over 2GHz

Hello guys.
Ive read basicly this hole thread. And decided yesterday i should see what happend to my MSI 7900GTO if i voltmod the memory and overclock it some. At stock my card didnt overclock that well i reach about 1.5 Ghz om the memory and when i modded it to 2.0 volt i was dissapointed. I only reach about 1.58 and that gives artifacts.
So basicly i cant even get to 1.6 Ghz on the memory in riva tuner. I checked the memory and its the BJ11 ones rated 1.1ns, 900 Mhz and 2.0 volt. I cant seem to figure this out. Can you guys give me some suggestions?
Im gonna try a 580w Hiper PSU now to see if my old Aspire 500w is too weak.
Best Regards, m0rphaza
Change of PSU didnt change a thing. i reach about 775 on the memory to the best. Over that and it fails to use that frequency riva tuner tells me.
Maybe the temperatures are too high...Quote:

There is no VID Vmod for GTX or GTO. You should do Vgpu mod with variable resistor.Quote:

I got an advise from a guy at sweclockers forum that i should change GTO bios. So i changed from .15 to .09 and changed to 91.47 from the 93 drivers. This resulted in that my clock now reaches about 820 with stock voltage. Before my memory stopped at 780 with 2.0 vmem volt mod.
This makes me wanna make my voltmod again, but i think im gonna wait til after DreamHack (10,000 ppl LAN in sweden) cause i dont wanna be there if my GFX card is broken :D
Hope my discovery helps other people having problems :)
from .15 to .09

^ Great mod you got there. I was gonna put some AS5 on mine until I noticed one row sat lower than the other two. I'm gonna give this a try.
btw, I'm running 690/750 on water w/o mods vmods.
...but I wanna get the memory up higher.

How did you cut this heatsink?
You can get rid of this black thing, too.
Then you can polish it. It helps.;)
