Yeah, really nice! Hope I'll get my DS3 soon too. I have my Tuniq Tower 120 for the CPU and a sweet little 40 mm fan waiting for the nb : ).

Sorry to bump this thread again, but is anyone else willing to do a 965 vs 975 comparison? If not it seems clock for clock, apart from pi 965 may be bette, especially in games.
:)
So, I read this whole thread, but maybe I missed, whats teh max fsb with an e6600 on 9x multiplier
DS3 = ?
P5W DH = ?
Don't forget on 9x multiplierQuote:

Got DS3 today, till DFI monster arrives :D Hopefully I will test 6400 soon under dice :)

I don't understand, how can the bench fsb be higher than the boot fsb? Are you saying, if I wanted to run 4ghz under water, taht i would have to boot at 400 fsb, then bump it up to around 450 every time?
I think they are using this software from windows to clock it higher because the bios won't let them do it. For me that doesnt sound like proper clocking. Many of the clocking screens that you see are made with windows clocking software because they allow 99% of the time to bump the frequency of your system higher than the boot up from the bios. I personally think if the bios won't boot up with a given frequency that is a sign that the motherboard can't go that far and its stability is highly doubtful but than again that's just my opinion, dont eat me alive...:cool:Quote:

Hi Kitt, I've seen a few people are saying that the DS3 can run much tigher ram timings at a higher freq than the i975x boards. Can you confirm or deny this?
Maybe these tigher timings would help the DS3 in the more latency depandant benchmarks such as Pi?
Doubt it....if it's being able to be ran tighter, im assuming it due to looser NB latencies, as there is NO WAT for eg. a set of RAM which can only do DDR2 450 4-4-4-8 in a P5W DH can do DDR450 3-3-3-8 in another boards....Quote:

Could you please post close up pics of the capacitors being used? There should be at-least four different kinds. Also, are there any missing caps?

I must have missed this, but where is it stable, boot doesnt really say much. How high can we run the fsb and still have a stable OC on each board?
BUMPAGE!!
Pics back up :woot:
P5W clocks better with 9x than DS3Quote:

Kick butt job on getting the numbers.
It will be interesting to see what nVidia and ATI can put together for chipsets. But, even if they make the best chipset known to man, it will mean nothing if the vendors don't get the boards right. Intel has always had the best support for their own CPUS with their own chipsets. I don't see that changing now - but the O/C potential on these go-arounds with Conroe, really have me thinking about holding off.........
Gigabyte was happy with the review I wrote on the DS3, so are now sending us review samples :D
I'll have a DQ6 in about a week, so i'll do a comparison on that. :)
