I've had two DH's and now the ws-pro. The ws-pro is a better board all around.

:D You keep me hopes high. :clap:Quote:

:D Not so far.

Could you (or anyone) please state the factors that you think make the ws-pro better???
Other than having PCI-X and higher MCH voltage?
I also have had a DH and now a ws-pro. I have read that the DH may run cooler than the ws-pro.

I think DG2 retail is a better board (compared to 64 retail)
Considering the price difference, that's good :DQuote:

Other than "gut reaction", are there any better components, more capacitors, etc on it?

I would think the new rev of the DH with higher Vmch may have helped. I have only used the first version of the DH and had three of them and they all gave me some degree of trouble. The WS-pro just handles better and seems a little more robust to me. I like the 8 phase power as well. As far as the caps etc. I haven't doen a compare. I don't use the PCI-X, so that doesn't figure in for me. At the time I got the DH for $300, it wasn't that much more than the DH was selling for in any case. And by the way, all the conroe boards run hot when overclocked. That's one reason I finally bit the bullet and changed over to phase cooling. ;)Quote:

Don't get me wrong, I already have a WS-Pro, just second-guessing myself, as usual.

After updating to BIOS 0005, my RAID 0 set was not found.Quote:

One thing I noticed before going back to BIOS 0307, was the CPU and MB temps in BIOS. Much lower than with 0307.
No problem to revert to 0307 and system is running stable.
Must have been a bad flash. Raid0 works fine for me with the 0005. I used AsusUpdate. Make sure you click the box that asks if you want to clear CMOS on restart.

You´re right, thanks!Quote:

The first time I used Asus EZ Flash.
With this BIOS AiBooster and Intel Thermal Analysis Tool are showing the same CPU temps.
Multiplier is now unlocked from 6 to 20.
Noticed the following:
CPU-Z reports Core 2 Duo.
Intel Processor ID reports Core 2 Extreme.
With BIOS 0307 CPU-Z reports Core 2 Extreme.

 Anyone knows the measure point & resistor to pencil for a Vdimm pencil mod on this board???
Anyone here have Asus "AISuite" working with the ws-pro?
