Not many E6400 around so please add me. Perfectly prime stable for over 2hours both cores. rig is as indicated in the sig except currently i am using a zalman 9000. Vcore at 1.36V (in bios too). I have a week 25. Do I need 10 hours?

I had 3.2ghz fail just after 2 hrs I think, was the first fail at 1.37v. Or was it 3ghz on my e6400.
Anyway, not sure from then on how stable it was as I seemed to of wasted a good part of the day tweaking the bios and voltage after the first error because no matter what I set the ghz to, up or down, plus voltage increase, I'd always get an error within minutes from then on.
I thought, what the heck is going on, so I set the e6400 back to 2.13ghz at stock settings and I was still getting errors within 5 minutes. Freaking out, I shutdown the system a couple times with PSU off, cable disconnected from back, and waiting and hitting the power button to try and get rid of all the power. Suddently right after that it did 8hrs Prime95 at stock, then in the morning 2.8ghz at 1.36 volts for 3hrs.
Seems like I was screwed after the first error because I wasted so much time trying to get it stable when even stock wouldn't work. But 2.8ghz is fine for me.

Some people have been saying that with the DS3, if vcore is left at "Normal" in BIOS, it will actually raise vcore when you overclock. I am not sure if that has been confirmed yet.

The mobo is making it higher. It's been confirmed. Set your voltage to 1.325 in the BIOS and try for those speeds again. Doubtful it will be stable.Quote:

Here's my updated settings. I got the vcore down a lot, and with the droop under load the voltage hovers around stock (1.325). I have to give it a lot of juice to get to 400x8 though, which I'm not sure why. I suspect I need to tweak something else first, but I'm really at a loss as to what. I have to set vcore at 1.4+ to get 400x8 stable, which is just too much IMO for 200 more CPU mhz and 24 more mhz on the FSB.
To reiterate:

Core Temp temps are around 50C load. I still don't believe any of these temp monitor programs though.
I chopped the image in paint because I'm a noob and when I print screen it copies my whole desktop. No need for such a giant ass picture.

Em.... running Prime now... don't see any difference... stable so far....
Give it time my friend, a few hours at least. And if it is stable then good, you just dropped your voltage a lot (what'd you set it at) :P Again I wasn't knockin on ya but moreso wanted to point out that you have some voltage tweaks to make if you are so inclined to do so.Quote:

Max dual prime so far is 3500mhz@1.5V (sry no screenies) but the temperature is sky high @ 76°C mesaured with Core temp (cooled by high end water cooling ..)
The IHS seems higly concave and contact with waterblock is really really poor...

Everything else auto, except using raptors in raid on ICH chipset. I am using water, big bore 1/2 setup.
I get very low temps - a few times it has booted up at room temperature. Dont get me wrong this is crazy fast, im getting 15 second 1M super pi, and a strange 9999 score in 3dmark06 which makes me very happy for my purchase. I just think something is up with my settings.
AI booster never recognizes the right speeds, FSB. Temp is 29 at bootup, sometimes hits 33 under full load with higher voltages. Mobo temp is 42. According to AiBooster anyway. CPU-Z recognizes correct speeds, with 1.368 volts at idle. Memory tab has the memory @ 380.5 mhz, 1:1 5 6 6 18 24 for timings.
I have tried the lowest memory divider, the highest voltages - highest on memory was 2.2, highest vcore was 1.55, everything else I maxed out. No higher setting past 385 boots into windows. 385 seems to boot but everything is unstable.
So am I stuck? Should I give up or did I miss out on the memo. I have read this entire styky, and the other styky on P5WDH.
