Gonna have some competiton for ya chew. my 0546XPMW 170 and my 0551 VPMW should be here thursday so i can have at least a little fun with 3dmark06 even tho i still dont like how they do the cpu tests:nono:

@ raybo- I'll install TCCD in about 10 hours just got to make sure this thing is 24hour stable and take a screenie before i put tccd back in.
Ok make that a little longer raybo.....Revv keeps picking on my mem timings so I had to tighten them up more and start over to make him happy :). On a side note i kinda remembered that my memory controller cruds out at 275 fsb at 3.0gig so ill have to run at like 9x300 for testing with TCCD for you..the sticks I'll be using arent that great for tight timings either but are capable of ddr 660.
guys im having a really hard time clocking my rams with this board... my chip can do 2.75Ghz on 1.58V.. so im trying to get my rams to run at 305Mhz my rams are TCCD's and i bought it off someone who did 325Mhz on them before.. so im hoping to get them to clock at 305Mhz.. but they are not stable.. they cant run 1T at that clockspeed.. infact they cant even run 1T at 250Mhz with the timing 2.5-4-3-8.. i have managed to get them stable at 246Mhz with the above timings and 1t command rate.. but im very dissapointed that the cant even run 300Mhz.. can any1 give me some tips and pointers?? alot of people say my psu is holding me back.. but tccd's du require much volts.. so it hard to believe... =(

Try those settings and get memtest 86+ 1.65 and run it. Should be able to run 1/1 300fsb. exactly how i set my rams... :(
Scream change weak or weakest to strong....... And my sticks refuse to boot at 2.5-4-3-6 i need to run 2.5-4-4-6......Not all TCCD performs the same. Might note the timings i posted before for gskill Le's are not stable with my La's so i will have to come up with a second set of timings......La's were always more finicky...........
Woohoo tried some of the rams settings u guys suggested and my comp went crazy, lol. It was funny see the red LEDs flashing on and off then the comp just shuts down.

Honestly not sure......Grayskull would be able to answer that more. I can't comment though for obvious reasons....
i think i really need a new psu... i got my board exchanged and switched to g.skill GBFC rams... its still clocking at the same speeds... anything abouve 246Mhz its not stable.. lol!
yah like i said its not the board....I have been very busy so havent had a chance to test. I'm sure once i find the right timings for my picky gskill F1 LA sticks that they will work for you as they are were very hard to get stable in any board i used them in.
How much Vdimm do I approx. need for 1T 2225 235MHz or 245MHz on this board?
Any thoughts on if it need more volts than a DFI nf4?

I know I toasted my 3000+ (PSU blew, was nasty little burn as I was IN THE CASE) but when I boot my board, the five ligths at the top that in my case had the last three lit now only have two lit, in this configuration:

and the power LED onboard blinks. My RAM (XMS XPERT, UCCC) says it's running at 200 MHz, and shows proper Vdimm, but I wanted to make sure I didn't have to send off MORE stuff with my brand new Hiper...
If i am correct those 5 lights are codes for voltage for vcore. I have the same lights lit when running my X2 3800 at 3.0 gig with 1.6v.Quote:

yeah a64 tweaker actually reads several timings wrong, thats why i took my SS down, im going to take some bios shots to post my 250mhz settings, my sticks run way tighter then chew's, i think the screens could be helpful, ive been folding all weekend to make sure they are stable - and they are, this board is damn impressive when loaded for days at a time without hiccup. ive never had a board so immensly stable.

sorry, i have no idea where to get it, supposedly sapphire was sending out new boards, but this no longer seems to be the case.
I am waiting to find it somewhere also. Decided to finally give up my AGP X850XTPE anf K8N Neo2 Platinum for a new mobo and the X1900XT in single card conf. Thought I'd check here to see if anyone knows where I might be able to find it. It is either this mobo or the DFI Ultra-D. I am patient but my patience is wearing thin. I have invested alot of money in a water cooling solution all ready to go in a new CM Stacker and I am ready to put it to use.

I'm running my 2X512 Patriot XBL on the 133 divider, (306 HTT, 10X multi) so my ram is at 204 and change with tight timings. I would like to use "almost" the same timings and the 166 divider so my ram would be running at 24X.
Any reccomendations? My kit just arrived today.

G.S. tech was saying that all HX is unofficially tested to 3-3-2-6 at 250mhz.
So heck, why not start there and use the 183 divider? You might make it. ;)

First off, going from 1 to 2 gigs was an immediate improvement.
Now to my question, what settings other than touching the big 3 (cas,trp and trcd) would improve my memory overclock?
When I installed the G. Skill I just loaded "optimized" booted than rebooted and went directly back into the bios. I left the memory on auto EXCEPT I used cas 2.5 and upped the Vdimm to 2.65 and started memtesting. I got to 230 error free at these settings and 235 no boot(I did not test between 230 and 235)
I went to 2.5-3-3 with the same results but 3-3-3 got me to 260 error free, and 265 booted with lots of errors. I'm not sure what chips these sticks use or if any of Grey skull's setting would help me out. So what settings other than the usual 3 would improve my mem OC?

Is that metallic circle recessed at all like A2/A3 NF2 was? It might benefit from lapping if it is.
Maze4 chipset cooler doesn't fit, I tried...
It's too damn big.
the aquacomputer twinplex block fits on the chipset just fine.
I used my g/f's blow dryer, and just sat it against the the chipset for a good 10 minutes, then with gloves on i twisted it off. If you look closely some of the glue looks burnt, as the board got really hot.Quote:

a personal preferance as to a cooling solution i think reflects on a persons williingness to "tweak" and or modify something to achieve a desired end..

ive bought this board for only one reason "chew", it has been because of your extensive testing and reports back on all your experiances with it that helped me to make my decision.....that and ive become bored with my diamond plus and a need a new toy to tweak... :)
I dunno if it's just a :banana::banana::banana::banana: chip or if I have a board problem, but with my XMS Xpert, and a 3000+ winchester no IHS, I can get 0 MHz above stock. I set the memory up like chew posted for UCCC, made sure my rails were solid on my PSU, everything I know to try for checking if I'm a dumbass, but changing it 1 MHz up causes it to reboot and give the long CPU dead beep.
Am I missing something? At this point, running stock it's faster than stock NF4, but my old Asus A8N-SLI vanilla version was doing 3.1 on air with my old 3800, cheap board just squeezing the life out of that CPU, as much as it would take it would give. Do I need to start RMAing parts here?
Oh, and the Maze4 is actually bigger than the mounting holes. If you can figure it out, let us all know...
Kayin it would depend on which chips your xms 3200 actually came with. after extensive research i found mine came with UCCC however there have been numerous amounts of brand IC's used for XMS pc 3200 2-3-2-6 sticks. You can post your specs of your ram and the ram guy can most likely inform you of what chips were used.
Try using a divider like ddr 266 divider, this will eliminate memory. Do not use HT multi of 2x as it apparently doesnt work, I use 3X. Make sure you set pll to manual and high speed. Also sometimes when trying to OC after changing the HT multi from default to 4X or 3X it will refuse to boot first attempt. Shut power off wait 10 secs then power back on and it will boot.
Flash I'm flattered and I hope you have a blast with the board. I know i am. What a difference from DFI. a board that OC's and boots up when i hit the power button...and works when first opened from a new box (cough DOA DFI)

I didn't even know about the PLL mode deal, but that sure seems to fix things..
Now to roast it out of my P180...

PLL allows you to OC that much i know, you will be hard pressed to get over 245 fsb without it set to high speed pll. Vcore reading wrong in cpu-z is a known bug. It may be cpu-z's fault. If i had to guess you'll hit around 330 fsb average. Use ati system manager to monitor hardware. The one that came with cd is limited. There is a better version in one of the bundled driver downloads. Its in one of the chipset driver downloads, I think the larger one is the one that has it.

i'm planning to freeze some bh-5 so if they'reo good chips will they be allowed to go well over 266mhz on the board without trouble?
i'm aiming for as close to 300mhz as possible with the bh-5.

heh well i doubt you'll be seeing 300 with bh-5 as i think thats the current WR. Average bh-5 does 265 decent bh5 does 270 and cherry sticks do above that. I had mine up to 273........ as far as the board 330 htt is easily attainable........Tccd will do 300fsb but takes a lot of patience to get stable depending on the sticks. My gskill LE's were easy to get stable however my gskill LA's were and still are being finicky.
Hey Raybo, it's samsung UCCC, look up grayskull's timing chart for that IC in the ati chipset forum. 3-4-4-8 will yield the most MHz with that ram, but perhaps not the best performance.

Hey raybo, that actually shouldnt be too hard, maybe even further with more timing tweaking? also, set the overclocking retry count to something like 3, its really usefull, if the pc is no boot, just hit the reset button, wait for the no boot again, hit it again, on the third try, the overclocking menu goes to defaults. Ive never cleared cmos once on this board, a first for me on ANY board.

Depends on what cpu is used revv. Some cpu's wont OC at all without pll set to high. mine cruds out at 250 before i need pll, my winchester 3000 wouldn't OC at all however with out pll high. As far as Htt i noticed some usb corruption over 333 fsb. this may have been contributed to just to high an over all OC though at that point in time as i hadnt found my processors max when i was testing it. Were you running win2k? My boards also going screwy. Walked in thursday morning to a blue screen and now my board will not boot to windows even 200 3-3-2-8 1T. 2T works just fine but 1T's gone even at stock speeds. Took out my 3700EB and put in 2x512 ocz3200 plat rev2 and still wouldnt boot to windows. Took out my 170 and put in my 165 thinking it was the memory controller but it still wouldnt boot to windows 1T. Dug out a floppy and tried to memtest 1T and it produced 1200 errors in test #5Quote:

Going to RMA it to newegg since i highly doubt its my x1900xtx but i cant test it as my innovation was the only pci-e board i had. Well board # 2 arrived and after a little surgery it appears to have been situman proof :). Popped a elcheapo cpu in it with some ram and it posted fine. Will prolly do a clean install on it in a week or 2. Be nice to have a board comparison to see how consistent the clocks are per board.
If Manta turns out to be a good board, would you be interested in Board #3? Hahahaaa.
If all goes as planned that may be board # 3 :)
