Have you tried loosened preamble? -> Explain me please :)
CABGE=what my past 2 very horrible 3700+ san diegos were :(
HermS are you running a gig of ram? I was at 3511mhz with 251mhz 2*256 BH5 to get the same 24s time you got...

This Gskill isn't doing bad either. :)
Results are watercooled.
This cpu seems to have a rather strange way of telling me it's not stable, instead of giving an error in SuperPi it just bluescreens.
Ram is more impressive then the cpu. Good hardware.Quote:

Yeah, my Opty kicked ass with something accidentally enabled on crappy water (*cough*Ricky tweak*cough*), I'll see what else I can get out of it this weekend....:D
Glad I jumped on early.

best bios for this opterons????
this chip do more or less the same at 1.376 volts and with 1,7volts :(
im using a prommy mach1 moded 404a
dont like volts :slapass:
only gain 50 or 60 mhz with voltage
sorry my english :D
Yes, like that....but I'm asking people who have any other version. Yours are sanded down (in case anybody needs reference).
Those results are from on a Prommy? I did better with water....can you show us an A64 tweaker shot?
EDIT: HermS....these don't scale with voltage particularly well with any cooling.

Understood Vapor, I meant that this one seemed to scale approximately 20Mhz for every 0.2v added then once above 1.6v the jumps grew considerably smaller if you catch my drift.Quote:

Somebody else with a CABGE? please post your results!
I would really be dissapointed if my ordered one cannot overclock to more than 2,8Hgz.
Further testing:-
32m stable at 3405MHz
Here's one, but I don't think he loosen up his async timings and preamble.Quote:

but my water is hot ;)
This CPU like Voltage, but isnt hot ! Highest temp during a SPI 32M @ 1.80v is only 42° (23° in my room).
Ill have some screens up in a sec currently at 2.8 with my opty 146 from vandi.
I had some major problems that lead me to stay up till 4am trying to fix my computer. My raptor drive decided to get all corrupted.
luckily i havnt had to increase the voltage yet, still 1.39. I hope this means I can reach 3 - 3.1 without having to go above 1.55.
Currently running under xp120 (30c idle 39 / 40c max load) till my new tubing and resevoir arrive, then I'll be placing it under my lovely Storm G4.
thanks again vandi!
what stepping is that?Quote:

Impressive low voltage CPU i'd say.
You need to wait a bit, the last stepping didn't 'look' good because only one person tried that stepping.Quote:

Till now every opteron did a good job. I am sure tomorrow will follow more screenshots because 50 people received 536VPAW today.
Any ETA when these will be available for purchase?
Do you think all these Opterons were donated by AMD??Quote:

omg, my 144 still aint coime thru bloody postal service are crap, all i want them to do is give me my nice pretty new opty so i can toast it in a day but no!! ive got to go pick it up from the depot at 6:30am!! tomrrow... the things you have to do.
I have been seriously considering getting a 170. I think I might just start out cheap with a 146 though.
anyone wanna get rid of one? hahah
Just an impuse buy when i saw Charlie's EWiz thread. I was a little irritated by their non-live inventory that only updates at regular intervals throughout the day. (And as long as they show one in stock you can place hundreds in your cart.) I got an e-mail telling me it was out of stock but they were expecting another shipment on Thursday. They shipped regular UPS on Thursday on it arrived this morning. I live close to EWiz.Quote:

I just slapped it in the same water cooled test rig I used for the last two Opterons. I'm using some Twinmos CH-UTT I had laying around. Please don't start hammering on me about the slow SuperPi time! I'm running the memory slow and loose right now because i'm just want to play with the CPU. I'll try to tweak it a little after I get a feeling of where the CPU will top out in the test rig. Maybe I'll start reading some SuperPi tip/tricks/tweaks guides when I find some time.
My gut tells me this stepping/week won't do as well as the first two CPUs I got. The slightly higher volts to get to 3ghz would seem to confirm that, but i think it'll still do better than the average San Diego.

Can't do more testing until tommorow. Stay tuned.
Some mighty-fine work there Nisco!! Let's see some 3D benches now ;)
I love this chip i think i can get 3250-3300 when i do my best.
This is with XP120 and Papstfan

Will buy watercooling when i am back from my vacation :fact:
Alright, I've resumed benching my Opteron....couple of quick observations/questions.
1) 2.5-3-3 does not work particularly well on my Opteron (like stability cuts out 10-15MHz lower--A HUGE drop), but 2.5-4-3 will scale like it did on my 4400+. At which speeds a divider with my CH-UTT is better, so my TCCD is out of the mix for my testing.
2) My temps are a good 10C cooler under load this time (IDK why, I had PERFECT contact last time) but my OC isn't any better--I'll try more volts (I'm only at 1.5V right now). 3175MHz is still my max for now.
3) I have Ricky tweak enabled (and did last time) because I only simply swapped out my 4400+....is there a way to disable it without a whole new install? I have a feeling temps are being negatively effected by it.
4) Is there any setting/configuration that you guys want me to specifically try?
I meant retail.Quote:

Wow! Amazing clocks at that voltage. These have to be fx-57's only with locked dividers. I can't wait for mine to get here. Just found out it's the same stepping as yours Rufus7.

CABYE, has been seen once before in a opty 254 ($850 chip - default 2.8 ghz) and capped at about 3.1 ghz on water
are you guys flashing bioses with the Opteron installed or are you installing a Venice/San Diego to update the bios..... :)
Neither...I flashed awhile ago to 704-2BTA with my Toledo and left it....
socrilles, that was on a non-OCing board.....but at least we know it can do 3.1GHz on water!
you reckon it would be wise to flash with OptysQuote:

Those are some wicked high temps considering the voltage!! Also, how long is it stable? That could be like 5 seconds in :stick:
I have Aircooling man. And it was 2 Minutes before stopping.Needs a little bit more Vcore. Like1,376vc.
It's still hot considering the voltage....considered taking off the IHS? I bet it could make your chip even more impressive :slobber:
No IHS is still on the CPU! I will take him under Water then the Temperatures will fall to the Ground or only cold air will be enough.Impressive is that I can make 2900Mhz at 1,29Vcore.Prime Custom.
Is contact between cooler and chip good? Because temps are very high for so low voltage even with air cooling
These 0530 are just verry hot chips.
mine have hot temps too.
mine arent much better, full load 1.36v 2.8ghz i get 52C load
