here are the timings. I'm on 2T so I guess 30s is really out of the question here.
tightened the timings a little and hit 30s. Probably not the best time in the world. Gonna try to tighten timings a little more DRAM Idle timer thingie. See what it can do
ok more screenies. I think im starting to clutter up the thread.
I have no idea what those numbers mean except for the bandwidth test
That an actually haveing them available to buy would be nice.Quote:

guys use SuperPI/mod1.4 as that's what most people use to compare
where is the 16 bios....i really want to be able to run the venice at 1.44v rather than 1.5 at 2.7GHz......this motherboard needs at least +0.06V to do some clocks........
what would be a safe voltage to use 24/7?
week 17 venices are pretty good so you can have a 24/7 setup at stock volts around 2.7GHz....WELL if Abit fix the problem there....I my limited experience and from what i've seen on other sites i wouldn't go past 1.55V on Good AIR....or 1.6/1.65V on good Water

should be less than USD80 board
Anyone running a WORKING FULLY FUNCTIONAL system with an X2 on Fatality AN8-SLI with dual grafix cards?????? :fact:
I doubt it :(
It seems that Abit needed some beta testers for their new board and guess what............YOUR IT
Well if they want me to be a beta tester thats fine.
Just send me some BLOODY BETA BIOSES TO TEST ABIT!!!!!!! :slapass:
hehehhe :)Quote:

Need another cpu a gig of ram and 2 pci X vidcards and not sure which i should buy.....
Ugh, I just gave in to the hankering and got 2 X BFG 7800GTX......still dealing with the guilt complex atm. Once it passes I'll grab an X2 4400. :(
Now fix the bloody bios support Abit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gee lowdog what can i say...
it's taken me 6 months to save for an A64300+ and mobo, but still don't have sufficient funds for a 6600gt to get the system up and running.
but I can respect your self inflicted guilt complex.
7800gtx if you game... :) Loving it.Quote:

Cool. Unfortunately i should be running at those speeds to but instead of buying an Air conditioner this year i bought a chiller 6 months ago that i still don't have.............http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...chmentid=13257
If this is accurate info then we should see an new bios giving users somewhat of an edge when using these.Quote:

Hmmm is it me or did bios 14 just like dissapear off the abit site...... in fact when i looked up the bios for an8-sli all they offer is 15 and no prereleased bioses. so i checked out the an8 fatality and it jumps from bios 13 to 15 .....I might take a chance on 15 possibly windows xp/64 bit xp problems and maybe if im lucky it wont effect win 2k? Hmm tictac you working on anything?need a beta tester?
BTW The reason im ready to upgrade bios is due to something im going to call the 2850 mhz phenomenom. What that means is no matter whether i use a winny venice clawhammer or sandiego i cant seem to go beyond 2850 mhz.....
go to Abit USA forum LVcoyote had a link there for bios 14 as well
2850 phenomenom hahahahaha i like it....

im on 15 now no real issues to report. hey guys my new venice seems to have a cold boot issues....WTF is that all about.....i have it at 2.8GHz 1.55V(i can go to 2.9GHz with this voltage so not the low voltage for sure)....restarting is fine...shutting down and booting up no go...need to do the cmos jumper
what happened to tictac...he probably got the boards and is going nuts OCing it :slapass:
could be utt issue like all the DFI boys. I shut my comp down for days sometimes and its boots right up with TCCD no problem. BTW thats a very nice chip you got there.
yah i found all the bioses still testing at the moment. So far i think bios 15 is best when using tccd for stabilty. still testing though.
I have a problem with my 3200+ venice with my TCCD rams on my AN8 SLi if i put too high a vdimm on my rams during booting into windows it will just power down or at high HTT and bios15 has read to write delay time stuck at 4 even i change it to whatever speed.

bios 15 changes alot of the tccd timings however it seems to be coded for tccd as prime runs flawlessly.
were u able to get higher cpu overclocks with bios 15 and tccd?
its odd that really only a few people post about this board here. People need to realize how good this board really is.
I m having problems to get my rams higher then 280 mhz. Anyone can show me some of their sample timmings for tccd.

Abit should really get those bios-teams to work because vurrent bios are really very bad... X2 problems (overclocking),Venice Problems (temperature and memory controller issues), SLI problems... way too much for me, going DFI real soon if the scenery doesn´t change...

not many people will have X2 cpus, so that problem isnt as relevant. Temp issue isnt a big deal as its been that way from waaaaay back when. Difference between T1 and T2 not much of an issue there since no one can really tell the difference unless you're a hardcore bencher. Bios 13 or 14 and problem solved for SLI. Unless you are going X2 (which not many people will) stick with bios 13 or 14 and you really dont have much of an issue.Quote:

Can this board handle oldscool 256mb BH5 2225 1T how far?

YES I tested old school Corsair BH5 2*256MB at 268MHz 1:1 @3.45V(this is the max actual voltage you get out of the board at the moment as it undervaults by 0.1V at high vdimm....so yeah they kick ass

The floppy controller seems to have died. cant run memtest anymore. replaced floppy then replaced floppy drive then replaced floppy cable and still all i get is random code spit out in dos when i stick a clean memtest floppy in it. I also believe that the sata ports are damaged as I keep getting alot of corruption at stock speeds. This may have been the cause of my raptors demise. Ran WD scandisk and HD returned no problems. Reformatted and still same issue exists. Long story short I'm guessing i damaged the nf4 chip with my extreme tweaking. I seem to have no issues with the board itself. I believe all the issues in question are chipset related.
Will prolly rma board within the next week. I will state again that the nf4 chip run extremely hot and I will definitely revamp its cooling solution when i tear this down and put my an8 ultra in it.
What are you planning on using for the chipset?
Is the heatpipe not enough for heavy overclocks?
Would putting a fan on the heatpipe fins improve its performance?
I plan on getting an an8 as well when the become available so im curious.
I want to add another question to anyone
Does this bios actually monitor chipset temps and where in bios (system one seems a bit low temp wise could be wrong)
also would airflow on the heatpipe grills improve stability and OCing....I am planning to test this but there's just too much :banana::banana::banana: going on ATM...so asking if anyone's tried this or not

Currently i m having 260 with multiplier at 10 1:1 Ratio for my rams CPU at 2600mhz
260 Mhz on my rams with Timming 2.5 3 3 6 with 2.7v
Trying to get my rams to 290 with multiplier at 9 1:1 ratio
i tried 290 mhz on my rams with timming 2.5 4 3 6 with 2.75v. Memtest86+ passed test#5 and Test#8 both more then 10 tests. But during booting up into windows system will just power down sometimes lucky enough will get into windows then power down after awhile.
For those of us in the US newegg has the ultra now!

i plan on using an asetek waterchill pro kit with a 3x120mm fan radiator and a sacem pump with an asetek waterblock. probably a little overkill but it does get hot. vidcard will be water chilled and cpu will be cooled by the mach 2 GT im in the process of purchasing. If you were able to mount fans on the fins of the heatpipe at rear of case i think the heatpipe would be more effecient.
Tried that no problems will boot into windows with no problems.Quote:

2. Update NVRAID to version 4.84
3. Update NIC to version 212-0487
4. Update Boot Up Logo
5. Add DDR 366 Memory Divider

Push it till it cooks! New HTT record would be cool.
From the beginning my board did have the 13 bios.. i put in all 4x512MB running 2T (of course, 4x512 cant run 1T). But i had som trouble, erroring in memtest.. so i flashed the bios to 16 beta directly, now the 4x512 did work, but i couldn't clock anything, if i did it just error directly... but i then discovered that one of my memories was damaged. so i haven't flashed back and tried 1T on 13, cus the 16 beta works flawless for me.Quote:

Using offical 1.5 BIOS from Abit site.
yea for some reason Abits has a hard time with winbond chips. I got a set of OCZ gold with BH die and it wouldnt overclock for crap even with 3.55volts. It just powers down.
I don't understand why you're having such problems, i have the same chips, and i OC:s good for me... strange..
