yea i don't why he said that then.
thanks charlie
yeah it does sound like you have a very nice core - but jsut because it was easy to hit 500, dont assume 540 will be easy. before hardcore testing I had a pelt and water and the card still kicked up an amazing amount of heat at only around 1.55 volts. I dont doubt your core can go to 540 - I jsut think heat will stop you cold (so to speak). I really hope it does not though - best of luck to you! be the first to 600/600!
heat is a very big factor, my card would do 450/600 on stock cooling, moved to zalman vf700-cu cooler and it would bench @ 477/615. when extremely cold (30deg. f.) and bench with computer on my screen in porch it will bench @ 486/615. this is with no mods. so temp is the stopper at least on my card. still need to try the pencil mod though.Quote:

Great job __TRONIK__,
fantatstic core clocks, i saw your score and thought, thts not possible LOL. Then i came here and saw your core clocks and everything made perfect sense.
.......and I was happy with my 33557 bench
:p:
looks like im going to have to try and break 34k, too many peeps hovering near me, need to climb up, heheheee
Just a question for those in the know, how many points would you say a 1mb cache chip would gain over a 512k cache chip? I think my scores may be a little low, but im using a venice so this could be the reason (33557 score wont be up till l8r today). Ive done all the tweaks, except forgot to move the slider to performance, will give tht a go l8r.
Do both gpu and mem use 10k vr?Quote:

Hi
Am newcomer in the X800 XL category and proud to compete with you all even if am starting with silly scores
No mod done yet (am out of trimmer and nepoprene), reached 475/570MHz with stock voltage
Here's what i got from it since now. I hope to reach descent frequencies at least on the core ;) My board is a Sapphire one
~6000 at 3DM05

Here is my latest attempts:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...nice/82610.jpg
lol
also have done a run yesterday with the chiller which goes down to -23,3Celsius and i got the same score in 05 :D got the card up to 505mhz core without mods :D so more to come soOn here s the shot:
Great going andL64 and nice overclock on the core. Must be my CPU speed that got me to that score, since my GFX is nowhere near yours. :D
thx
i m hunting for the top orb scores with my XL card this weekend so i ll hold ya up 2 date ;)

Try the 5.6's for 2k5. I got 6015 last night and my card was only running 459/565.Quote:

Glade to know the 5.6 cats are doing so well. I'm stuck between 5700-5800. Maybe these drivers will give me the boost I need.Quote:

i know tronik i meant urs too :)
but still couldnt get as far only 6360 with 525/585 5.6 my winchester cant get more than 2800 for benching....
also my chiller goes down to -30 water/af mixture but having some probs with core temp its about 0C idle with the mods which is to high.
so i have to tune some bit.... i am sure i can get 6500 for now but thats to low so i have to tune first :D

3.2 @ 3998 mhz
x800xl @ 455/555, no vmods, but it can bench at 465/560 no problems.
Watercooled.

and noob just get my scores with 525/580 i can only get 6360 for now with a winchester @ 2,8 and ram @ 255 2-2-2-5 so ur systems runs very sweet
Hmmm yeah my score does seem unusally high doesn't it... I'm gonna do a re-run.
EDIT: Re-ran 3dmark05... Half way thru nature though screen went black and then came back on in cpu testing all of a sudden. Score is almost 1,000 pts less...

here is first test, x800xl agp, Dothan power... crushes my old San Diego score... oh and stock card, slight OC...

didnt know you were pulling out a secret weapon there charlie - looks like you may jsut make a run!
Interesting... does the X800XL core "always" say x800PRO screenprinted on it??

Either that or it has bad contact :p:Quote:

my core has x800pro as well. i get 450/550 using sapphire's redline...but just got the card.
Yep lol when I first got mine I almost crapped my pants, was worried it wasnt gonna fit in my case... Biggest card I've ever had...
Have you guys vmodded yours yet? If so, got any pics?
mine had flux on it when i got it...i'm taking it back. no mods yet.
I believe mods are the same... chips and configuration for Vgpu look the same.
Oh, mine does 459/614 on STOCK cooler and default volts :slobber:

looking at my card, and the flux on the card...same is pictured in a review of a card from another OEM, and three other cards at the shop.
the rialto brodge adds alot of heat...and the factory heatsink adds heat to the gpu form the mem. I'm quite impressed...heatsink only allows of a Tdelta of 11c... :woot: i think the surmised idea that these cores are intended for more has some serious weight to it.
my mem will only do 594...you're a lucky bugger charlie.
the vgpu IC has a bios/select voltage...i'll look at the document on it and check, but it might be possible to change voltage via bios/software, or it's just controlling the fan...
Does the AGP version of later versions of the card in general clock better than initial ones? I got a powercolor XL PCIE with 2.0ns ram about 2.5 months ago now and it seemed to clock well at first but I think it may actually be balls. First of all I can never get as high as you guys, secondly I have been experiencing a strange problem when playing games that I can only attribute to the card and not my system. When playing games I randomly get a crash to a solid blue screen. Now this is not a windows BSOD as there is no writing on the screen just a solid blue box covering 90% of the screen minus a few cm on each side. The sound sometimes loops in the background, sometimes not. Either way only a hard reboot of the system fixes this and I'm on my way. Has anyone heard or experienced this before to help me out? I have re evaluated my oc on my system from this and prime continues to pass for 9 hours, OCCT passes np, Super pi 32M passes np as well as both dos and memtest for hours on end with np yet after an hour or so games are causing this. I have downlocked my video card since this and it still happens. It's driving me nuts. I can loop 3dmark for hours and hours at 435/567. I have had my card as low as 411/540 and I still get this strange crash. My card is cooled with Silencer 5 rev. 2 and I never get temps higher than 53c on my core where as before I was getting 65 with stock cooling. 53 is pretty good considering some people get into the 70's.
charlie do you run your card at that speed 24/7?? or do you clock down when not running games/benching?
That's just benching speeds...Quote:

Well here's my best CPU clocks:

35K++
Stock card, no mods, stock cooler 459/607
Waiting for low cas memory... 12 x 257 1:1, 2-2-2 will give at least 200 points...
My CPU is not that great, even at -63C max benchable around 3100mHz.
What's your opinions on the scores, guys???
At 600/610 where do you think I'll be????
38K??

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...chmentid=32630

How's that Car Low????
:eek2:
I think I need a new CPU, though... imagine the power of 3300mHz or even 3550 like kingpin!!!!!
C
i think you can take #1 for x800xl,even with just 3100 of your Dothan.
Among with your impecable skill, you have the magic touch Charlie :)
My X800XL AGP is "toast"... I'm done for now... you're SAFE, TRONIK!!
LOL, be careful peeps, let's just say the "read point" for the Vgpu is DIFFERENT on the AGP than on the PCI-E....
:explode:

I think charlie take #1 for xlQuote:

is this pretty decent for Socket 754?
i got the card yesterday. all stock cooling on the card so far!
card was at 440/590
I just benched AQ3 at 453 / 573 MHz is that pretty good?
http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/2...arks7jh.th.jpg
Won't oc more and the card is watercooled :( Is the pencil vmod difficult to do?
One more question: how is my 01SE score so low (26241) or is P4 (4110MHz) just so slow in that test? graphics card clocks are the same.
Pencil vmod is easy.
Put some dielectric grease or some electric tape over it so it won't leak tho.

My MSi XL on water will only hit 450 core before artifacting :( screenies soon...
turn your 3d sliders to performance.
The max that i can in GPU is 455....any advices?
Could i raise the voltage of PCIe?
Sorry for my porr english
EDIT - I´ll sell it :D

Some condensation around voltage regulator and a nice firework did the rest :(

no, sorry - you can usually tell you are pushing too much if you go in small increments and monitor your overclock. push .1v, test. when your overclock starts going DOWN you are pushing too much. When you are getting shutdowns, etc. of course max voltage for anything less than phase is going toe much less than 1.7. I would stay at 1.55 or so.Quote:
