It was the best selling sedan in the world. The quality came way up, I will agree they were kinda crappy up until around 5-8 years ago. Nonetheless, they are now discontinued.Quote:

Yes, the Lancer EVO IX, the WRX STI, the NXS, so unstable.... I could name a lot more, but it's pointless.
nsx is long and wide, and 3 or 4 inches lower than others, laccer and wrx have awd, i'de like to see the lancer and wrx stability at 180mph
and yes, in a couple months i plan to be hitting 160ish alot
Yeh but a late model NSX gets chewed up and spit out by a c5 vette. And im not talking about acel either, it handles better than it too. The last gen nsx sold for 120k before being discontinued and yet it was embraced by a 45K vette.Quote:

It was a in between car.
Evo and STI are high strung 4bangers with no low end torque. They are tuned for numbers on the dyno and not on the road. Turbo charging a small engine is useless INHO. Do what lancia and now vw is doing. Supercharging for low end grunt and turbo charging for high end power. Neither Mitsubishi or Subaru do that however so these are just claims.
Remember kids things are not like in the movies. 3 fast and 3idiotic does not show car potential and neither does grand turismo from sony. Drifting is not a motor sport no matter what kids like to claim.
Also car performance has one small hangup, the drivers ability. The second lesser hangup but also important is the drivers time behind the wheel of a certain model car.
I really hope that was a joke...Quote:

(Not that they have much stock turbo lag to begin with.) They are not made for high speed, but they do what they do VERY well.
Go to any track, and you will see slightly modded evo's keeping up with some serious track cars. People don't like them because they are 4 cylinders to begin with, but theres a reason they have earned so much respect even in ls1 and Cobra circles.

Or maybe a super C5, because the only Corvettee I know that can even think about messing with the NSX is the Z06, and indeed that is better. I'm no NSX fan, on the contrary, I don't like that car at all, but it's a potent little bugger.
As for the C5 handling better than NSX, that's debatable, but the NSX is way lighter and better ballanced.
Anyway, the EVO and the STi, sorry to say, but those cars are made for the track, and they are good on it, no matter what you might think. They might not be the best, they might not have a big engine, but they do the job.
Anyway, the discussion is rather pointless and way offtopic.

sell them all and get a newer mustang ^^ oooh mustangs, or gut taht :banana::banana::banana::banana: out and slap on a supercharger.
Gut it? You haven't seen the interior. :D
Besides, if I were going to have only one car, the mustang would definitely not be it. Fun to drive? Sure. But it's neither as fuel-efficient as the Prelude, nor as classy as the 280Z, and they're both fun to drive as well.
I have a plan for the mustang, but I have so much other car work queued up, I'm not sure when I'm going to get to it.
lol, 5.0 with gutted interior, big drag tires, and a supercharger, will do wheelies

I like the design much better than the previous model.
It has more curves and the back looks so much better.
You just have to see it in person. Possibly the best performance-per-price SUV below $60k mark.
I was originally planning to get the new Porsche Cayenne S which was out of my budget. So I had to decide a Yaris or X5, but I am glad I made the right choice.:)
My next upgrade is going to be a sedan for sure. Brabus Mercedes. :slobber:
We still need to decide what our next car is gonna be.
We've taken already a testdrive with an Audi Q7 (very, very nice car, but expensive), a Lexus RX400H (also very nice, even a Hybrid, but my dad doesn't like the seats (they make his back hurt :-/)) and the new x5 is the next one on the list. Probably the one with the most chances, we've always had BMW's...
I'm not liking the Euro Civic. The power button is cool, but the rest of it is a bit too much for me.
I kinda like the tail pipes on that civic. Looks cool to me. The :banana::banana::banana:pit looks ok although I would think it could fly, as it looks like something out of a jet or something, not exactly my taste though.
FYI the above word was not a bad word, its another word for interior. Portions of that word are used as a name for a rooster, and lastly its a word used to describe male genitalia. I think the filter in this forum needs some retweaking.

Ok you're bringing strip cars in to it now though... The cars we're talking about are not strip cars, we're talkin' about your average vehicle here. I'm sure a strip car with a high stall tc is fun as all get out, but I don't think that's what you would be driving on a daily basis. Day-in / day-out driving manual tranny FTW IMO.
yep im on there too diff name on there geldartb.
i scored the calipers cheap on ebay all four for 130 including the brackets.
my brake pads i needed to complete it just came this morning so all i need to do is pick up some brake fluid.
rotors were 35 a piece
calipers from ebay all four 130 shipped
pads 25 for the front raybesto pads from ebay.
If you compare a stock japanese and american sports cars the japanese car has much better hp/litre ratio and that means that the engine is much more efficient. I respect more much more those car makers that can make NA straight 4 engines with 200hp than american car makers that make engines that are big but only make like 200 or little more hp.When talking about torque the bigger engines like Nissan's RB26DETT or Toyota's 2JZ-GTE have far more greater tuning potential than those bigger V8 found in Corvetters or similar cars.
maybe you dont get it. you cant reach 500hp NA without a big motor, which is why all the little jap cars are 250hp or less with their little 4 cylinders.
the only sports car i can think of thats american that makes a "little more than 200hp" would be the older sn95 mustangs. but then i remember that a 4.6 can make alot mroe power, much more easily than a honda.
the 2jz doesnt have more tuning potential than an ls7, lol, thats just downright wrong. for one, you gotta replace the crank pulley at 400whp or else it will shatter, yeah thats great. the ls7 can have a twin turbo put on, and easily reach 1500+whp with the right set up. at far less boost than a supra. and no, the 2jz doesnt have torque.
and if the 2jz is so great, why do all these supras get their asses handed to them buy a 1100whp mustang?
oh yeah, and like we already said, hp/liter means nothing in a race, hp/wieght ratio is what matters. tell me a race where hp/liter wins the race and i'll give you a dollar.
1400 rwhp can be done with the 2JZ-GTE engine and I think at that point the engine has 'enough' torque. Of course that is with modded internals but I believe that a LS7 with 1500whp needs a 'little' modding too :) Here's a vid with Ryan Woon's Supra.
I'd love to see the torque charts of these 50000+ HP 4 cylinders that the fast and furious crowd talks of. I'd hate to have to drive around at 7000 rpm all the time to get decent power. And HP/Litre...who cares? If you build something always on the verge of grenading at high expense just to have big numbers...???
RB26DETT and 2JZ-GTE are both six cylinder engines and you they have pretty good torque on stock settings. I have read few reviews about the new Civic Typer R which has the 2l I4 200hp engine and many have said that you don't need to rev it hard in normal driving but if you want to get all the power from the engine the naturally you have to rev the engine up to 8000rpm or so.
i like my 6krpm v8's. which even if the supra and wahtnot have tq, you cant feel it cuz the car is so heavy. if it didnt have tq. it would go nowhere.
also, those i4's are very unresponsive to throttle pressure, takes a sec before it does anything, with most v8's you tap the gas for less than half a sec, and you immediatley get alot of response

Always makes me laugh when the guys in the new GT mustangs with loud exhausts and that deep V8 rumble pull up next to me and gun it, I do the same and out pull them with my stock car. And I've asked them to go from a dig, and they always decline. AWD is where its at. :D
I like all cars...except ricers.
Evo is a nice car. Can't really compare it to the american sport cars :)
