my gtx295 and gts250 consistently had pie befor the 295 died. I don't think it's just fermi at play
Send one 295 my way and I can get it up within an hour of arrival.
Send both and I'll have it up within 2 hours (gotta run get a new PSU)
BTW - found a place in Cali. 4 blocks from the beach, 3 miles from work and they were naive enough to include utilities... :ROTF:
@ WhiteFireDragon - Great job and thanks! Off again.
Well hopefully the SR2 will be out any day now and I hope its not cursed with the same problem as the past evga boards have. They hoppin and poppin for 180k a day I hope. Wow is your apartment management going to be in for a suprise. Hope you just don't run into the same problems I have had in the past with overloading circuit breakers :ROTF: BTW 4x 9800GX2's and 3x GTX295's do not run on a 15A breaker haha.
holy crap, dak is just hair under stonageman, but i've never seen him in first. almost there, but never the cigar lol
i think he was just showing me where i can find pie, because i honestly never knew about the dc stats. lol how n00b of me... right?
we were all n00bs at one point in time ... you are doing fine and we appreciate the zeal and determination you bring to the team

One pie coming up!
Dunno if i might get already pie with only 1 gtx 470 running the grid. If not then the 3 gt 240 that are comming could help :D
:welcome: glad you joined the team!
The 470 might do it all by itself but certainly once you add the 3x240 you will be eating pie
Are you putting the 240s all on the same mobo?
yeap, if its doable i will all put them on my msi p55 gd65 with my i5 750 on wcg.
well, my output will go down massively. Appears there are no more Linux WUs for Fermi, so only my gts 250 is still crunching.
They had a server issue yesterday that has since been fixed.
If you had switched over to another project to keep busy, there is plenty of work if you switch back.
I'm back...
http://i45.tinypic.com/29mnevl.png
unfortunately that doesn't mean i get pie... :shakes:
You guys are just to xtreme for that to happen.
All moved in and back to business Otis?
What's the going rate for pie these days? I'm making around 40k a day right now, and have a gtx 480 on the way. It's been a while since I have had a taste.
Stoneageman is a crunching man...
Well you're showing us all a clean pair of webbed feet on WCG, so that makes you a crazy crunching goose :ROTF:
Figured I'm gonna be #2 at GPUGRID for sometime now, so paddling my way up on WCG.
yeah my pie up there is gtx260, gt240, and gtx470
http://i45.tinypic.com/a23qdy.png
There it is, congrats pie eaters!
Middle of the pie is much too crowded
I need to get another card up and running.
I'm thinking a pure gpugrid machine.
I already have ram, WinXP, old HDD, and a 295
so it shouldn't hurt too much to get an i3-530, H55 mATX, and psu
... anyone have extras they are looking to get rid of
http://i48.tinypic.com/2exral3.png
Wow - hedge. That's some pretty nice pie ya got there.
http://i49.tinypic.com/soye7a.png
Sweet stuff ya guys got there. :p:
http://i48.tinypic.com/2jed4dw.png
Congrats to all the pie eaters!
Sorry I missed the pie yesterday, lost internet AGAIN. (5th day in a row of little to no internet)
AT&T got the opportunity to hear my lovely opinion of their service for over an hour though...
Oh, and corporate should be getting a letter tomorrow.
I put the 295 with the 285 in the same rig so they can have a nice little threesome :bananal::banana:
I went this direction instead of a new board so I can save up for 2 of the 6 core CPUs coming this fall and that oh so nice Corsair 1200 coming out next month. :)
I will own lemon pi~
Beware!
Once you have tasted PIE", the force is strong.
http://i48.tinypic.com/2z3wc50.png
And the lemon pie it is SC!
Just by the hair of my chinny chin chin :ROTF:
It was luck ... pie eaters 4-6 were only seperated by 2k
Tonight should be a little better :yepp:
SC, i know it might be hard to answer this, but do you see any hinder in production when having two different cards on the same system as opposed to separating the cards into different rigs?
yup, the corsair Corsair AX1200 is sexy as hell. 94% peak efficient is freakin ridiculous. wish i can afford it though.
http://i50.tinypic.com/33zd9uo.png
And there it is!
Currently I have underclocked both cards (my study is already mighty hot) so I have nothing to compare the numbers to. In theory there might be a slight decrease because while they get priority over a cpu WU they are no higher or lower on the priority scale than each other so they might, on occasion, have to wait for each other. I just told BOINC to go from 4 cores to 3 and my cpu utilization is up around 88% instead of 75%.
http://i49.tinypic.com/33zfgvs.png
Well SC, it's workin for ya.
i got two gts250 comming, and two idle gtx260 almost ready to put back on the grid. trying to take SC's lemon pie :p:
lol because it's easier and more cost effective to just populate all the available pci-e slots with crunching GPU's than it is to buy a crunching CPU along with mobo, memory, HD, and PSU. and getting some crunchers that i lend out proved to be harder than i thought...
my 3 gt 240 did about exactly the the ppd that i thought they would do which is around 16k each. Now i just need to find a way to get my gtx 470 grid at full power with win 7.
The best you can do for a fermi card is to set the SWAN_SYNC environ variable to 0 and then tell BOINC Manager to use 1 less thread than you really have. Still not as good as XP or Linux but much better than just straight up Win7.
its already done and my gtx 470 is watercooled, so i will be able to get better shader clock hopefully and more ppd.

Great job guys!
http://i47.tinypic.com/vmu546.png
Dang, pie is only getting tougher...
yeah saw that today 91k and i only got the kiwi pie
well with a lot of new people and GPU grid getting more popular on here, the pie standard has increased a lot (which is a good thing :p:)
Ah, my first piece in a while. Should get a bit better though. For now my GTX 275 on linux seems to be my workhorse still. My 8800 gt errors out constantly and my gtx 480 was in a PC that kept BSOD'ing. I got that figured out now. I had to lower the voltage on my I-7 and lower the overclock to 3.6. It seems that my Thermaltake DH-103 HTPC case with it's 2 120 mm fans do not quite cool as well as the antec 1200 that it was in.
Everyone's runing on the 257.X drivers right???
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=254762
what happened to 123bob?? he just disappeared from the pie
He'll likely be back at some point.
I don't think it's the first time and I think it just means that means he stepped out to do a bit of F@H. It may also be that he is starting a new team without canabalizing this one ... I know with WCG he went to other tech forums to get things rolling ... take a look at TechPowerup ... they might have had one or two crunchers before he lit a fire under the whole forum!
Eh, I sure hope he can get a good one started... Would love to see someone hot on our heels!
http://i48.tinypic.com/14w4m4z.png
with bob (hopefully temporarily) gone, now it's a fight for the lemon pie since that blueberry pie is way out of reach to take from snowcrash :p:
just curious, is there only a certain time in the day to post pie? is this based on when the gpugrid server gets updated or is it based on that one free-DC stats site? i'm guessing a good time is when it's almost midnight (PST)?
I am only running 3 cards.
It should not be too difficult to give me a run for my money.
... of course those three cards are a 285, 295, and a 480
look like i will need a couple of dozen more gt 240 if i want to get more pie
Wow. my 2 470s and 1 250 placed me 4th?! Go Linux!
ah there's bob. well that was a short vacation haha
hmmm pinneapple pie is delicious
what's my pie called??
well for that i need to first pay off y loan for my first car and then i might get my dad and brother to get as a christmas gift from my 2 dedicated cruncher (i3 530 at 4.2ghz and hd 5770 watercooled and i5 750 at 4.1ghz and 3 gt 240)to replace their dell pc and then get a i7 950 cruncher or maybe look for a mp solution( maybe the cheap guy sr-2 with 2 e5630 overclocked to 4ghz each and a dozen of gt 240). So with the couple more gtt 240 or maybe 1 or 2 gtx 285 i could get better pie.
http://i50.tinypic.com/23j051x.png
That's how it's done guys, congrats!
pwolfe got first taste of blueberry pie. i believe this is my first lemon pie also. and no snowcrash to be seen anywhere. SC, get back to work :cord:
:ROTF:
Great work everyone :toast:
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
After giving my 295 and 480 a rest yesterday (outside temp was 99F) and the prediction for today being only 85F I went to the *lab* about 4:30 AM and switched on my 295. Hopefully this will be enough for me to has some pie?
The 480 off the grid for now as I started having problems just before GPUGrid switched back to 6.05. It now errors on everything GPUGrid gives it but the card istself is OK ... something odd going. After switching drivers around, resetting project etc, I still don't have it working properly again ... yet... but I will!
http://i29.tinypic.com/2rep9wm.png
And sorry about the lack in pie updates lately... my internet is less reliable than I thought possible.
Hey, I can honestly say AT&T passed even my expectations now... :shakes:
http://i28.tinypic.com/vwubtg.png
Otis posted this in the GPU oc thread by mistake :p:
lol thanks for the correction Zloyd. my first taste of blueberry pie :woot:
windows xp decided that it didnt wanted to recognize the nvidia driver eveytime i try to reinstall them on my i5 750 with the 3 gt 240 so i got me a linux os and should get this cruncher back tonight and get maybe pie tommorow or tuesday.
http://i29.tinypic.com/2libi89.png
Did SAM get a new toy or two?
http://i28.tinypic.com/t69c7k.png
Great work guys!
Edit:
http://i31.tinypic.com/1si77t.png
And congrats to pwolf!!! Making his way onto the big pie!

Grats pwolfe on taking #10
I cannot keep here anymore. Hopefully getting a GTX460 first of month but I'll never break 100k. Jest do what I can. With 95 degree heat here having to shut down machines during the day, will be fall before I can even do 60k+ although the 460 should help.
My hats off to all who brave the heat and electric bills! :)
Why that grats? I've been higher than 10! I think I must have a machine down or something.
OOOH! That number 10 slot. cool, thanks for grats. Its been a race to beat the wife's financial senses with the electricity bill.
^^
http://i31.tinypic.com/2a9y0bq.png
i should be back sometime this week in the daily ie group as i got my 3 gt 240 rig running on linux 64bit thanks to the thread How to run gpugrid on a stick at the gpugrid forum but is there any ways i can make linux to not give a full cpu thread to each gpugrid working unit like in windows xp 64 bit cause right now the i5 750 can only work one unit on wcg because of the three gpugrid workunit running.
i might hav to pm snowcrash or pwolfe or D_A for some linux tips for that.
http://i25.tinypic.com/28mk03k.png
There it goes.
Snow Crash can't help you with linux as not only does he know nothing about linux but he is also realizing that the last old POS DVD player he keeps recycling in crunchers may have died and he now has to buy one just so he can even try to set up a "cruncher on a stick" rig.
http://i26.tinypic.com/1pbcih.png
Crazy pie eaters...
There ya go!
