Nice job, bud. I know what you mean, my wife looks at me weird when I get the kitchen oven mits on to carry the microwaved boiling water upstairs to put on my tubing.
On that air bubble, looks like some rockin' and rollin' with the case tonight.

Yeah!!! Water and electricity making magic. Very nice.
I found some darker blue sleeving in my collection ... so, when you're ready to start over
I still think it looks good the way it is. Also, notice how that blue sleeving matches the blue on your mb?

Well done my friend, well done!
You use mits?
No rocking and rolling for me, just scotching!
Thanks Shazza! I think Nils has some too and now everyone tells me they have a darker blue sleeving (pulling my hair out) and it's too late. I have to leave for the Middle East in a coupe of weeks so I want to play before I leave.
BTW, did you see the study released yesterday? People that are optimistic, typically live eight years longer than the half empty glass folks! I am happy that you are in my camp! And on that note, my scotch glass is half full! :D
 I am still grasshopper, trying to snatch a pebble from Martin's hand. :D
LOL...I still haven't found mine. Its tucked away somewhere with its companion, "The Oak" as well. All of these moves in a few years and I've lost track of which box it is packed in.
And thank god everyone wasn't armed with a camera phone back then too...we'd be screwed!
Rocky you sure were right about "Aberlour", nice scotch, very smooth over ice.
This came highly recommended as well..."Bunnahabhain 12yr Single Malt"
As usual, I was hoping and planning on a Sunday with no disruptions, not!
We had unexpected company and when they left I immediately went back to the bench to finish my last three wires of the 24 pin. Disaster struck......

I tried to order two of these but Charles said there was no way I could break it! I always get two of everything, except for wives. We all have our limitations!
I will have TWO new ones tomorrow morning and the Madness will end, finally.
Here is a glimpse of the next color scheme for my upcoming "Copper-Head" build.

The case color will be unreal and 100% powder coated to boot. I am doing my research regarding the proper components. I may stick with my current dual Opty server or I may go nuts and go with a Skulltrail.
One thing for sure, Nils will be busy with some crazy sleeving colors! Are you ready Nils?:ROTF:
looking fantastic!
here here:up: to the 2 of everything (minus significant others :yepp:)...i sometimes take on nasa redundentcy (3)- you never know what can go wrong & 2 backups should be on ready:shrug:
that sucks that you broke it - i amost broke the fan pin one - it was bent in 3 or so different directions after my ninja session - its lifespan is limited to say the least:(
looking forward to the next builds color sceme - that looks very very nice!
good choice sticking w/ the HD - it fits w/ the rest of the build better - the blue of the plexi was to light & more of a baby blue & really did not look right w/ the rest of the blue accenting (which i like a lot!)
sorry to be this guy & maybe open another can of worms (unless you already tried)...but i did not see you try out blue shrink on the blue sleeving - was this attempted & not to your visual appeal?
the red shrink on the red sleeving for the accenting that i did w/ my build has really grown on me...hope this does not slow down your forward movement:rolleyes:
ah man, that sucks Rocky!
How did you break it? hopefully you didn't do it just to prove me wrong. ;)
In any event, when I sent you the one it was all I had at the time... it was actually my own.
Glad to hear you'll be back in business Monday - keep up the great work! :)
Been looking all day for your updates ... sorry about breaking your tool (wait, that didn't come out quite right ... blushes).
You know, you coulda used the old fashioned STAPLES method. I can't believe I did that for my first go 'round. Then ... I broke the expensive tool within 5 minutes, then ordered 5 of the $5 ones ... only broke one, then finished my GPUs and now have 4 left - but I pray to the Good Lord I never need to use them!!! Sleeving PSUs is something made popular by a Canadian Sadist and friends!!!
This copper build is going to be something to watch. Ummm, is that your snake?
I had my headphones on and I working on the 24 pin when my wife tapped me on the shoulder from behind. I was in another world and she startled me, snap! Thanks for the kudos Charles.
 A nice play on words Shazza! I just picked up three this morning and hopefully I won't need more than one. Yes, the Canadian sadist has sucked many of us into his dark world!:ROTF:
I finished the 24 pin and put the system back together again today. I am not happy with the outcome. Too many wires, too busy and no where near clean enough for me. Back to the drawing board! I am going to leave it alone for a few days and see what comes to mind.

Very frustrating.:(
Isn't it possible to lead your PCI-E cables directly to the back on the left of the cards? Just as the 24-pin cable, simply lead it directly behind the motherboard tray.
Routing your SATA cables around the back from the 5,25 inch trays?
Still it's a nice build what you have there Seeker ;) I wish I had the hardware :P
yeah the best way to route the cables is just to hide them :) even if they look so nice
i like alot how 6 dominators look together, dont hide them behind the wires
Yes, it is possible, but I am leaning towards going back to my Ultra X3 and ditching most of the sleeving altogether. My blues do not match and there are too many wires visible.
Many thanks Roodbaard! The only problem with having the hardware is that you (I) always want to improve upon what you have!
The sleeving job that you did is exceptional Rocky but my only issue with sleeved PSU wires is that they are tough to "bundle" to keep the size contained. That is why I have said in the past we need to come up with a way to corral the wires without just tie-wrapping the bundles.
What about a large sleeve that exposes approx the last two inches of the individual sleeved wires? Just thinking out load.
I feel your pain. I keep looking at these pics to see what could be done to help the look, yet keep all your functionality. Now I know why some of the prettiest builds don't have much extra stuff (e.g. drives and more).
Just brainstorming here ...
It seems to me you either need a lot of sleeved cables, or very few to make it look good. You're kind of in the middle here. With your HDs, you've got them pointing to the front of the case for the connectors, but then you've brought a couple of cables out ... any way to keep everything hidden by using extra long cables and bringing them up underneath the mb/res?
The Optical drive is tricky ... the cabling might look better if it was on the bottom of your stack - but then, that probably doesn't fit with how you've designed the front.
And the GPU strings ... I don't think it's the color of the blue as much as the fact that the texture/fabric is different the the black. A darker color would help as well.
Doesn't help much, but I'm still thinking about it. I've got an Ultra X3 myself ... I just don't know if that's going to look better, but I'm sure you'll figure it out!
Shazza,
Thanks for the input. IMO, I have too many cables exposed, at least not my tool! :ROTF: Sorry, Shazza I owed you one.;)
I am going to give the Ultra a try and see if I like it. I will not be able to do any thing until Thursday, work calls!
I agree with you regarding the texture of the sleeving. Truly a Canadian and German :banana::banana::banana:up!
Have a nice evening!
It looks to me like with the pci-e wires, the bottom cards plugs are coming in ontop then going under. I think you just need to play around a bit with how they lay with each plug and each wire. You will get it
but you know if you get bored of that you can send those cards to me

I was just thinkin' about you brother! I asked Shoggy if AC would make a Delrin top for my Cuplex XT DI and this is what he sent me. He said André from http://shop.anfi-tec.de/ also sells the tops in white.
You had me at the Austin Martin a few pages back. Glad I was around to watch you create this masterpiece. :YIPPIE:
@ShoNuff -- Damn that Delrin AF tops looks great on the Cuplex XT DI.. always wondered how that would have looked like.
I mush prefer the solid top on the HD then the XT since i don't like the (tealish color of the clear top).
@theseeker - At least everything is up and running and no isses like last time...
I personally think the wiring looks less clutered now then the previous install with all the cables a solid black.
I think the PCi-e and ATX connectors look fine and I would just try hiding or rerouting the CD and HD cables a bit and I think it would look great.
@theseeker
maybe something like this would help you with your cable problem. I had the same problem with my Lian Li V2010 build (and it's pretty harder to route cables on the back of the motherboard tray since the space is very cramped)

Thanks for the input. I have taken it apart yet again!
Some day you might get to play some games on that beast :p:
Until he gets it the way he wants, it would just drive him crazy while playing. :bsod: :D
And lets not forget the "Special Sleeving Dust" that Charles puts on all of his sleeving packs that has this strange ability to transform a normally sane person into a sleeving maniac.
I wanna see more pictures of your dogs. :X
I think you have the nicest pair of shepards ive seen in a while.
This weekend!
No sleeving this time around John. I will be using the "flex-force" Ultra cables for a while. I think Shazza nailed it regarding the sleeving. It is not no so much the color as much as the texture of the sleeving. So I will wait until Nils provides me with something better!
Thanks NaeKuh! They are from the Czech Republic and they are long coated GSD's. Here you go...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC00074.jpg
They love raw bones!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC00084.jpg
They have very white teeth!
Nice dogs (and grass!)
Ours is really sick right now (both dog and grass) :(
Rocky,
Looking at these pics i'd say it's the sata and sata power cables messing up rather than the pci-e cables.
The res maginifies the cables to make matters worse.
I'd say turn the hdd's around so that the connections are hidden (at the front of your case), re-route the sata cable for the optical drive so that it is coming in from above instead of having it run down below.
Also, let the 8-pin powercable come from behind the mobo- above.
That will make it heaps more clean.
As said, the blue is a nice touch but a darker shade of blue would look better.
Strange thought but maybe you could try to spraypaint the sleeving prior to sleeving?
Good luck man, i'm convinced you'll get it worked out. ;)
How about mounting the hard disks vertically? Then will be able to route the sata data and power cables down using the holes near the front io connection module of the tj-07.
To add to that, you should try to route the GPU power cables behind the reservoir, might be a cleaner look.
Or maybe shorten some of your cables? Just kidding, looks great! :D I do like Infinity's idea about putting the cables behind the res...and they might look cool distorted through the res!
The HDD connectors are in the front of the case and those cables are easily re-routable and not my concern.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...frontwires.jpg
The 8-Pin is routed behind the MB tray. The big problem is the 24 Pin.
Spray paint the sleeving? Surely you must be kidding!
The most HDD's you can mount vertically is three and that does not look good either.
Doing that amplifies the problem and really stretches the cables.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01763.jpg
Alan, I will probably do that with the Flex-Force cables until Nils sends me his new "secret BLUE sleeving." For the time being I will be using the Flex-Force cables so that I can play some games and actually use this beast!
Thanks for all of the input!
I'd have the 24pin cable come out from the mid tray hole, have it behind the PCIe cables.....then have the SATA cables BEHIND the res (If they bend enough, if not get some 90* connectors)
Thanks James for the input. The SATA's are not a problem, those are now hidden. In the case of the 24 pin, I don't have enough room through the midplate. Remember that I have a Feser 120.4 under the backside and little room for wiring.
I will post some pics tomorrow with the force-flex wiring which I will be using until I get the Area-51 sleeving from Nils.
Rocky I will be saluting your M-M Jr build tonight with the Aberlour 12yr. Hell I might have to salute it several times. ;)
Stop it, you guys. You're making me thirsty!
Lookin' forward to seeing the Ultra cables installed (so put the Scotch up, please :) )
No John! As the Scots's would say, pour yourself a wee dram and add a wee bit of water! Have a few sips and go out with the doogs!
From the woman that brought us every color of scotch labels! Twist off and have a nip!
The pics will be posted tomorrow shortly after Dim-Sum! Don't get excited, they wont look so good with the FF cabling.
Well just to let you know I toasted your project quite a few times tonight. :toast2: :ROTF:

nice dog pics Rocky  - they look very content w/ their bones
what happened  sleeving gone....oh my...ultra psu..bunched cables....oh dear...:(
i know what you mean about the texture - that is prob the one thing i have a problem w/ on my build - having more strands woven together makes a dramatic difference
i hope charles/nils can get some red together soon! that would make my day
good luck w/ the 3rd or is it 4th round of madness w/ your power supply saga...hopefully you can get it ironed out, get some closure & move on to that copper project :D
Having a new problem! When the system posts I get this message, "USB Over Current Device Detected."
The strange thing is that I cannot enter setup. I have tried two different keyboards and the system recognizes ctrl-alt-del but not the delete key alone? I tried removing the CMOS battery and that did not work. This board posted just fine last week.
Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear this Rocky, did you by chance flash your bios? Also did you ever go by "seekermeister"? I googled it and here is the results page.
http://www.google.com/search?client=...=Google+Search
Sorry to hear this ... first thing I'd check (after unplugging all USB devices) is make sure you don't have something shorting out ... any chance your motherboard screws have come loose (or perhaps too tight)?
Also, is this with the Ultra PSU? Can't imagine that being the issue, as I'd think you'd have other problems if there was a problem with the PSU voltage ... but just thinking (Danger! Danger!) ... USB takes 5 volts, so if the PSU is overshooting on the 5V line, could this lead to the USB over voltage error message? I doubt very much that this would be the case, but sometimes goofy ideas lead to the real solution.
Its working now. Foe some reason the MB doesn't like the Aquaero and I have never seen this happen before. When its plugged in I still get a USB over current message.
However the Feser 120.4 keeps everything very cool. I am still at stock but the CPU idles at 27 and the GPUS at 31. More to follow.
Glad you got it up and running.
I'm sure you've checked ... but any possibility your USB wires are crossed or not making full contact for the Aquaero (I only asked, as it was something I had to double check 14 squillion times after sleeving my Aquaero cable :p: )
At least it is working and running extremely cool! This Feser has completely surpassed every expectation. I am going to have a lot of headroom for OC'ing. I just ran Vantage on all factory clocks and RT is reporting 32 and Evga P is reporting 34 on both cards. I am happy as a pig in :banana::banana::banana:!
On with the pics!
Finally, out of focus, just like me.........
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01845.jpg
It will stay this way until I receive the new and improved blue sleeving from Nils!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01838.jpg
The Force-Flex cables are ok, but I would rather blue & black sleeving...Nils?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01839.jpg
I will also be swapping out my VFD Aquaero for a blue one...on order!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01840.jpg
The artsy pics as usual..........no where near Shazza's ability!

And the money shot for shonuff! Shazza, teach me how to make wallpaper! I need this one in 25x16 for my use.....

And a big thanks to the M|M creator and God, Charles!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01847.jpg
I am not satisfied with the wiring but I need to play some games an OC this beast. It will stay this way until I return from my travels. Hopefully, Nils will have the new sleeving ready and I can begin again. I am very happy from a performance and cooling standpoint. I am a confessed M|M-aholic, a Feser-aholic and H20-aholic.
The scotch, don't even ask, I have been drinking it for 20 years and I am still not addicted.
Cheers everyone!
Rocky,
Even with the lighter blue the fantastic job that you did on the sleeving is a winner over these flat cables. I understand that you are not going to change them yet but yours has MUCH more class!
Sorry to hear about the Aquaero, these things are addictive. Enjoy playing some games and overclocking that beast.
John
Mr. theseeker,
It gets more and more beautiful each day. Congratulations on setting new standards for system builds. Very impressive indeed!
Fresh out of the lab. PCI-E sleeved with SATA-sleeve. Might be an option for you:
http://img3.abload.de/img/mdpc-x-pcie-sata3e57.jpg
1. small shrink over the blank cable so that there is a seamless transistion into the connectors
2. three cables in one SATA sleeve. Put it in parallel (!) and you get the look that I achieved.
3. use SATA-heatshrink to shrink it
:)
Edit: OMG ... I see that you have "different faceplate"
You get it in Blau :D

Blau - Blau - Blau
Btw. these pictures are color ... :)
Nils, Send it tomorrow! EINMALIG!!!:D
Einmalig? :D:D:D
The stuff will be einmalig, but you will get it mehrmals I guess :D
Kirk will send it to you once the bluebird has landed - directly from the USA.
me want some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Money shot indeed! How could you not appreciate this!!! If you happen to make this "Walpaperable" please send me a link.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01841.jpg
@Nils Your sleeving pics above are a great idea...especially for those of use using a tri-sli setup. I like it!
Good work, Rocky.
Yep - the flex cables gotta go, but they were an interim measure anyway. Sounds like Nils may have a nice solution for you.
As for wallpaper ... easy enough - just size your pic to whatever size you want and host it. Do you know the size of files your shooting with direct from your camera (JPEG? Raw?)?
Very nice shots Rocky!
Looks like Nils has created a brilliant solution for your PCI-E wires. Fantastic idea Nils and gorgeous shots!
Rocky, your side panel is finally ready and will ship in the next few days - sorry it's taken so long my friend; I'll have to make it up to you. :)
+1 on Nils PCI-E wire solution! looks really clean that way!
File sent ...
Here's my rendition of your money shot:

Here's a Link where you can get a larger version. Put your cursor on the right side of the pic, click "O" and save the image. That's the 1920x1200 size.
They are gorgeous dogs. Must be young too, no grey hairs :)
Your build looks lovely :) Wish I could iATX my case, but unfortunately in Australia we can only get crappy window versions of the case.
Thanks Shazza!
@Rocky My wife was given me a hard time about my new avatar today. I may have to bring Pai Mei back...LOL
I couldn't resist ... what do you associate with this?:
http://www.abload.de/img/woot7d0b.jpg
:D
Haha, I thought "whoopie cushion"
I finally moved the beast to my office and it is heavy! I will begin the OC process tomorrow and it appears that I will have a good deal of headroom. After running OCCT, Everest, Vantage and a host of other programs, the highest CPU temp I recorded was 54C. This was all done on factory settings but I am confident it will run cool at 4.4. This Feser is outstanding.
Here is the starting point....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...93-43-03PM.jpg
Ahh, Victoria's Peak in Hong Kong...nice!
edit:
I should clarify, from that angle the photo was taken from Victoria's Peak of Hong Kong Island and Tsim Tsa Tsui/Kowloon. I am looking forward to going back soon!
Can't read the small print (yes, I am and oldster!). Interested in your Vcore for these runs.
Also ... make sure you download Real Temp 3.0, it's possible 2.7 is giving you slightly lower readings due to how it reads Tjmax for the i7. Also, 3.0 will give you a temp from your GPU - very handy.
Looking good!
