Lovely!!! Vince, check your PM....I WANT ONE!!!!!!

My dog is surprised very much:shocked:
hhahahahaaha
It arrived everythign is fine. Your HW Bot reign is near an end.:ROTF:
damn i just got mine last month.... the extension is perfect...... me want!!! :yepp::p:
This Extrension Kit and F1EE are tight? :D
Well I misbehave alot too.
http://overclockingpin.com/clown.jpg
^^ I have a pic of said misbehaviour...don't make me bust it out.
Hey Vince!! The Missus tells me the extension arrived today!!! Thanks very much. However, one small point:rolleyes:.....it's a good thing I got the postman a nice bottle of wine for Xmas, as you forgot to put the address on the box!! That's one knarly lookin' clown!!
how cool would a dragon look in a Dragon F1?

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/7...ragonmouth.jpg
-IF- i get some cash from GOOC i wil make it happen ;p
Just a heads up because I have been getting a lot of emails about this...the F1 extreme will officially support socket 1156 starting next week. It will ship with 1156 mounting integrated into the current mounting
Why you didn't do that year ago?
Integrate 1156 mounting into the f1 one year ago?
Anyone else really hacked off that Intel are changing the mounting hole spacing again for no reason?
I genuinely do want to see the series of decisions that leads to changes like this. Intel dont benefit from this. They have to tweak their stock HSF and that costs them money. There is NO benefit
EDIT: 3K posts... and its a moan at Intel. Great. Hi Intel!
Man get that garbage out of my thread. Thats about to get clown nuked by the sucka patrol. Thats not an F1 holdown, that a piece of dense foam with 5 holes in it lol.
Avoid knockoffs kids.. and ALWAYS buy genuine F1 replacement parts!
Here is the real next gen F1 holdown which now supports all previous sockets as well as 1156 now  and ships with every new F1 starting next week.
http://www.overclockingpin.com/p55%20mounting%20f1.jpg
relax man, I made 4 of it only bcoz few persons in EU have benching contest this week so they need them asap, and probably your mount will be not arrived on time
I should silent here but can't
Do you have monopoly to making mounts for your pots?, I can make mountings for each pot i want, and somebody can make for my pots and I am not angry, sometimes I am sending DWG cad files to person which want make it by your self and dont have time to wait for shipping
also reason is on funds too, of course yours is "always the best" but even my CRAP mounting with good hands will be works the same
Duniek. if you have wares to ply... ply them in your own threads/classifieds. I can't deleted you picture because I don't mod this section, but I'll give you the opportunity to delete the post yourself before someone less chartable than me comes along and deletes it. There is no DI & LN mod online at this time... but there will be very soon.
oh thats good
bcoz for w while i thought your post is kind of ironic
I really want and need that F1 holdown that supports LGA1156 :D
Looking great Vince, Dragon quality & design

I want one ......:D:D
Looks good as always Vince!
Updated on the site already man
I've got my RE almost entirely insulated, and can't wait to put an e8600 and my F1EE to work on it.
I expect that the F1EE will make things 100x easier than my old solid copper mousepot with ~1cm deep base :)
So I got this F1 Nickel plated a few months ago by a local place to see what was up with the whole process, different types of plating, whats best for what we do, etc, etc. It sat for a while and I never got to finish fully putting this particular surface finish through its paces. This is ELECTRO-LESS Nickel. It is different that electrolytic which leaves more of an uneven finish in the corners and pits. Electro-less leaves a much more uniform finish and it is consistently even throughout the part. It's also a thinner layer of nickel that is left.
The surface finish is really the concern and dictates what process to use as any imperfections in the finish can be magnified. Surface prep is key for sure.
This light finish is more of gunmetal type finish slightly dull, but really looks nice overall witht eh way we prepped it I think. I am doing some load testing with it first to make some determinations about coating internals before going ahead with it on all the pots I make....but this could be thel deal if testing goes OK. I wont sacrifice the perf of the pot for some bs plating and I never was a huge fan of it ot begin with There are alot of ways around putting plating in specific areas of the pot, thats not an issue. It's wether or not it is worth it to even do so. Needs to be tested so we'll see soon :D
First ever pictured nickel F1?? I know some guys have seen this at my shop 3 months ago ;) so you don't count lol but I have yet to see a plated pic of one on the internet though...no?? :D

Looking good man :)
You could use one these Gom...yours is brown as a turd :shakes:
I want - this is the F1EE I want to buy LOL -looks great! now if I can get the extension tube plated as well LOL
Beatiful....I like the colour.....
Very nice looking Pot Vince , performance with looks to kill :D.
Angelo.
Very nice looking, indeed:)
Looking forward to your tests Vince.
Vince,
Looks cool man. Preety much a permanent finish then eh?
Considering the intended use for F1 is controlling temps I don't think it will matter on intel....., it will probably make a -1% diff running flat out on AMD which will be near impossible to measure due to variation in meters, mounts, IHS.....
Anyway looks sweet especially since you prepped it prior to sending it out.
Looks nice! Not to much bling bling :D
looks nice, and apparently doesn't effect your ability to go back to #1 on the bot after a few hours
Hey vince are your TR1 GTR's still alive and kicking or you just using them for a prop? Mine seem to freak out on ln2 on asus :/, seems its an asus issue they are fine on giga with ln2 and rock out in asus with any cooling besides ln2.
ROFL at supernova. LOL
Glad to see we have our 1st Alu F1? :D ?
now how's about some diamond / gold plating ?
does nickel plating affect pot's performance?
how about making one from silver? :D
i say yes and no :D.
no need to make it shine and bling like that, becaus there's gone be insulation over it :D.
if ur tube is brown it means u used it good ;).
Interesting path Vince, sounds absolutely stellar about the hold up 2+ months
Futhermore when it comes to overclocking it comes down to the smallest, so coating it preventing dirt build up is a top nice idea
the SICK look is a sideway bonus , but as Vince says #1 is performance
Vince does this amazing new pot have a name yet:party3:
How pretty
:D
DRAGON F1 with nickel plate.....
Thanks Vince.......

Theres no more that sexy tube box? :)
Thank you sir!
I received the box several days ago, I appreciate all the extra foam and materials you threw in!
I'm still gathering materials for first DICE run, will post updates and pictures in the next couple of days.
As a hardcore Tolkien fan.. I couldn't resist :D

Experimented a bit with multiple layers.. till this:
http://i34.tinypic.com/2m7yjvq.jpg
poured some 100% acetone, some DICE in and tested it on the shelf.

http://i37.tinypic.com/2zftx8h.jpg
After I finished and stripped down everything to clean, the pot remained 'frozen' for over 40 minutes. incredible design & quality.
How much Alcohol do I need to pour in to make the cooling the most effective?
up to the level of the drills?
halfway?
I know it's probably nothing (comparing to the hardcore oc'ers here), but here is my personal record:
http://i38.tinypic.com/2dv1s1t.png
CPU-Z Validator 3.1
:)
Will work on forward to reach 5.2
GREAT pot.
Is that on dice or ln2?
Either way, nice run!
That is on DICE :)
I have managed to update my score to http://valid.canardpc.com/cache/banner/833489.png.

Not bad for a Core i7 920, you need to get yourself a w3570 to really push that pot and board though :p: Best to wait for Gulftown though, no sense buying obsolete chips.
Nice work and thank you so much for your kind words!!! :D
For better DI performance on the F1, try crushing all of your dry ice into "powdery snow" first by putting the pellets in abag and smashing with a hammer or something. Then, maybe about enough acetone to fill all the pits and keep the snow in the unit packed and "tamped" down and you will get your best performance. Sometimes, I used to even put a very heavy weight into the pot to put pressure down on the inside of the base on the DI/acetone snow/slush mixture and keeping airspace minimized in the mix.
K|ngp|n, a little birdy told me that probe holes are gonna be standard issues on your pots. Any truth to this, or should I kill that bird? :p:
Latest unit came with pre-drilled holes.
He drilled & milled everything else, you can't make one tiny little hole? :p:
Making that one little hole in copper on skew surface is almost imposible if you don't have good tools to do that.
Here is a copy and paste from a pm I sent earlier, its has some good info in it on the performance of the F1 and why it is what is and does what it does.
"No disappointment on my end, F1 is for sure not for wprime, most will tell you that. Venom is, thats why I made it. The temps dont change at all at max temps/load really. The f1 is actually really easy to control @-150c when your using quad in vantage/o6. That unit is all about the load transition from game test to cpu test with quads. When you use the term temp control, what are you referring too?
Your ability to change temps and put them whereever you want? or the containers ability to "hold" a specific temp for a period of time maybe doing so sluggishly?
They are two different things. That violent boil off you talk about is something that top guys look for when benching heavy transitions from load-light load. Its a good thing, it mean the copper is more conductive and the container can rapidly move temps if needed (load transitions). I purposely torch the pot to get it to do that every bench session. "
I want to add that its been around 3 yrs since its design and it's still as potent in doing what it was designed for which is navigating RAPID temperature/load transitions through 06'/vantage cpu-game tests and keeping the system stable.
1.95v on gulftown 6.45-6.5ghz 06/vantage is within the original tuning on this container still.
Like I said above in the pm, this unit was designed for temperature control in 06 originally. Temp control has become a loose term in more modern times, so I need to define what temp control is within the realm of my units and how it relates to the F1 specifically. It goes back to the transitions between cpu tests and game test and being able to put the temperature where you need it. Say 6.5ghz game test/6.3ghz cpu test with 10-15c temp requirement difference between the two. Cant be stuck with a full pot of LN2 if your working with a cold bug limit or you F'd. So in 06 for example, gt1 gt2 are benched with the F1 pot just about empty with semi-frequent trickles as cpu test approaches, you know you have to be 12c colder on start of first cpu test so just as the fireflies dissapear you HAMMER the F1 with LN2. Really good Ln2 benchers with the f1 have the timing down perfectly and it will vary from cpu to cpu and load, but at the start of the cpu test is will be powered up and get you get down to the temperature you need and then start of 2nd cpu test where you can hold it with container nearly empty again but let it go emtpy towards end of cpu test and you can usually make it into canyon at a safe temperature with pot compeltely empty and I usually let it warmup even warmer than I ran gt1/gt2 for canyon and deep freeze. So really the key here is not being stuck with a full pot because the container can't keep up with the temp transition at benching temperature of -145c to 170c. That's the zone this container was tuned for with qx6700 a long time ago. Its still the zone even with gulftown 6.5ghz 1.9v 06/vantage.
Now some guys probably notice that when you first fire up the rig and start pulling down the unit, if you go right to -145c and go right into benchmark and try to run, the container is too sluggish to control temps and runs with alot of ln2 in it. The temps dont swing at all really. This is bad situation for benching vantage/06. The container needs to be "primed" to be violent :D
You need to turn the F1 into Mr Angry, before its time to bench. Then it will NEVER run full pot in the zone its tuned for. Heres how I do it and A LOT of other bigtime benchers do it: Bring the unit down to about -100c, then let it go empty and hit the internals completely with a torch for about ten seconds until there is a nice thin layer of frost. Now pour some LN2 into the dragon, and watch those temps fly
Wow. I've never touched LN2 before, but I've read as much as I can about it. In that one post, you just told me more about practical, real-world use than anything else I've read combined. Thanks for the post k|ngp|n!
now i now why you torch it :D
and thanks K|ngp|n ;)
I love my F1 and its Dragon hiss but I wanna double date with the Venom too :D
I use a spray bottle and blast the insides with a few squirts. Then I pull the pot down, hit it with the torch to remelt the ice, and the pot is good to go. The F1EE just needs that added surface area. Surprising how little it takes to get it going
i think your missing a stick of memory too...
is that a teaser :D
well, kp, what this picture shows ? new rev of F1EE ? new generation of cpu pot ? ;)
Good point Ollie ;)
btw
800 post :D
dont, please, dont do this to my wallet.
great...just great I was just about to jump on the KP pot bandwagon and now I have to wait....:shakes::)
lol bring it on Vince :D
Hmmm.....a new weapon in the making Vince??? I've got a birthday coming s00n......would make a great gift. To me from ME!! :D
