for the price (real chea) and a mod to the nb voltage there's no other board that can touch this with the new bios. BTW 1115 bios is fine when your vnb is over 1.9v. You just need good cooling..

nice raja.. :) DFI infinity 975x is not yet dead.. :DQuote:

I'm going to stick it on phase this week so will need more fsb, maybe I can get it with the 11-13 bios. I tried 11-15 and never did get it to boot at 380.

gonna try this bios
about 15 minutes ago I randomly visited the dfi beta bios page and upgraded to 11/15 bios and booted into bios. WOW! I could never get passed 382x9 to post on previous bios versions. This time I posted at 370x9 with auto voltages so I kept upping and got to 400x9 and i still got 1 post beep. I tried to boot up on it but got a blue screen so i set my voltages to my standard oc and I booted right up. I am going to play with it a little more and run orthos today. It's a miracle

I'm looking forward to the DFI RD600.. hope.. its more like the infinity 975x.. it keeps going and going.. :D
don't let go.. ahhh I feel sad.. :( I only have two nights with this board.. waaaaa..
so is this board resurected?
Worth it to buy? Or Raju just got a good one?
Deciding between this and abit aw9d-max. I want to buy this because of price :)
I skimmed most of the thread, so many different thoughts...

for this board patient is a virtue.. :woot:
i sold the board waiting on evga nvidia 680i to see how it clocks
this is my second board, both hit 440fsb if you have the right cooling and mod the nb to 1.8v or so...
this new board I recieved this week, so far so good, no probs running orthos blend test (the feared test) so far, I will aim for 12 hours...

colling wise 1.8v is enough on the nb to get to 445fsb if the cpu cooling is adequate and you have a good third party nb cooler (not stock).. Watercooling on the nb may bring even better results...
Also set the ram timings all on auto, apart from the divider using 1:1 (533) works fine...

hiya raja you still on the dfi 975x board it was quick but very problematic fior me
yeah I got hold of a new one, just to fool around with really, the new bios has elevated this board quite well. The secret to obtaining the best with the new bios is to mod the nb voltage to betwen 1.8-2v for some sick orthos blend stable overclocks over 440 fsb..

Raja
yeh it seems a good board now with new bios
nice clocks raja.. :DQuote:

Ok, guess its time to break out the soldering iron and give the vmch mod a shot. Do you also suppose I need to do the vfsb mod? It seems that I can already set the fsb plenty high, but is the vmod also necessary? I would hate to do one only to find out I need to do the other...
Also, as this will be my first hardmod in years (and years) I am wondering about the VMCH mod with the 40k var resistor. Is this something I adjust on the fly with the system powered up until I get what I want, or do you set it while the system is off and then see where I end up, shut down and try again?
Hopefully between the vmod(s) and the new bios I will finally be able to crack 400fsb :)
vmch is fine for upto 445fsb orthos blend stable, vfsb does not really make too much difference on this board...

Raja
Raja,
Ok, so after I solder the resistor on do I set it for 40omhs or do I start it at zero and crank it up I hit 1.9 or so...?
Also, are the adjustments made only with the system off or is it ok to mess with while the power is on?
Thanks,
Tad
Edit: I've searched vr-zone without success for a pencil mod... any idea where I can find it?
you need a 40k variable resistor (usually 25 turns), set it to maximum 40k first and work down. First few turns will do nothing, after that it will begin to creep up, you can go to pc health check in bios for a reading, I set up the screen in front of me while I adjust. Or use a dmm and adjust very slowly checking constantly for change, don't overshoot!
I'm a little concerned if you did not know this, only proceed if you're comfortable, otherwise you'll end up with a dead board...
regards
Raja
well on the old revision board, setting read delay to 7 and vnb to 1.85 with a mod gives nice results...
I'm currently running Orthos at 455fsb on the 9X multiplier, boot up out of bios,
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/8...1ghzfk5.th.jpg
Raja... do you happen to know what ohms you ended up with at 1.9v ? I don't have any 40k vr's, but a bunch of 20k. If you are ending up with 20k or less at 1.9v I could use one of those, my board will be used for phase and dry ice benching only. Also, do we still need to set all the ram drive strengths with this new bios, or is default ok?Quote:

@littleBoy
you have an xtreme OC with your board.. :woot:
could anyone send me a link to the 1103 bios?
I see he has now fixed the siggy and test spec to 1103. He's CPU-Z screenie also shows the 11/03/06 BIOS.... So now we need a link for what would be the 97TIDC03.bin.... Anyone?
Here is a link to the DFI Streets thread that has a link to it. Question, though. Is the 11.03 supposed to be better than the 11.15 beta on the DFI website? I'm going to be installing this board this afternoon and would like to know what the best beta is to flash to.

Theres a new beta bios 2006/12/01 now. I checked yesterday at december 7 and it wasnt there at the dfi infinity 975X/G beta site but it's there now.
link please.. :)
Sup Dudes been following this thread since it got started and am happy to report that the last 3 bios are sweet.
This new c01 bios is pretty sweet it adds a memory hole option am not sure what it does so i left it defualt which is enabled.
Right now with 01 bios and previous 11.15 and 11.03 i am able to over clock to 425 on my e6600 I could go into orthos prime and bench it for hours with no problems but as soon as i restart my comp it don't post. It will post @410 after a restart.
My bios settings are.
c1e off
1:1 on the memory
pcix@101
ppm on
325v cpu
1.25v cpu
2.20v mem
1.75v nb
Temps are fine 41 idle 58 load orthos
Why wont it post after a restart.
cold boot issues.. mm.. i thought this is fix.. :(
hey Raja.. :)

Looking to build a new Core 2 rig. I really want to avoid SLI and I am looking at this DFI board to be paired with a cheap 6300 till Intel drops there Quad Core prices latter this fall. How do you guys like this board so far? anyone using Crossfire with atm?
DFI 975 x/g @ FSB 422 my E6600 doesn't post any more but cold, after a night.
If restarted it doesn't post
I've noticed a big V-Droop of .07v during Orthos blend
What causes v-droop and what can be done?
Has anybody tried this MoBo with a Q6600 (G0 or B3) ??
Any information ?
