I'm currently running an abit AB9 with my E6300 and the BIOS just blows huge chunks... I can't get the FSB over about 430 stable. What board is currently leading in the highest FSB department because I'm lookin' to get it. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

i have an e6300 'b' revision cpu. i don't have screenshots since real p5b deluxe wifi is on RMA (borrowed another one temporarily), but i have mine at 7x475 fsb for 3.3 ghz. i am limited by ram i believe. either that or cpu temps which is at 75 C load. i had an arctic freezer pro, but one pin broke so currently it has intel OEM hsf which is not doing a good job. i have a zalman 9500 coming as a replacement. cpu volt is 1.425 and ram is at 2.25v.

Just swapped out my E6300 and AB9 for an E6600 & AW9D-Max. Currently @ 3.6 (400 x 9 [1:1]) 1.45v. Is this any good for an E6600? I can't get this thing to boot any FSB higher than 400 even when dropping the multi. Something blatant on the AW9D that I need to change to help out with the FSB speeds, what's a safe voltage for the MCH & PCIe? Thx in advance.

I can get it to run fine @ 3.8ghz same voltage but it gives me an error about half way through a 32mb SPi test :( More voltage fixes it but I'd like to stick within some half decent guidelines for aircooling.

my creation, firstime posthing here, so here goes. i'm still tweaking ram subtimings as there is a little headroom still there i think.
I'm testing an E6700 ES now on a P5W-DH, strange thing is:
When I put down multi to 9x, and set 400x9 in bios. All programs (coretemp, windows system properties, orthos etc.) show 444x9 = 4000mhz :S
CPU-Z is the only app that does show 400x9, is this a familiar problem for anyone?

While I've gotten the system to boot at a 500Mhz FSB, Windows refuses to load to the desktop above 477. I think that I'm being limited by my memory (Patriot DDR2 667).
Cooling is provided by a Big Typhoon VX with 3 day old AS5. Temps dropped by 17-20C over the stock Intel HSF.
anyone else hear of a e6400 topping out at 2.765ghz on water? having serious problems getting any higher with my p5b-d.

WTF is wrong with the latest E6400s? I just had 2 of them, L629a and L628a that couldnt even run 3.4 Ghz stable. My 6300 can run up to 3.6, but at ultra high FSB speeds. I wanted something that would be less taxing on the chipset - really disappointed in the 6400s though.

your ram will do 500mhz at 5.4.4.9,so why have you got it at 5.5.5.15 at only 480mhz? surely it will run that 480mhz at slightly lower timings.
on my p5b-d,my 6300 will do 3.5ghz(500fsb) with vcore at 1.4 with ram at 1000 1:1.your ram is rated for 500 anyway,so why not give it a try? temps at that are about 40-41c idle and about 61-63maxxed with a freezer 7 pro.
I allready tried 500mhz and i get my system so grazy that i have to take battery of and do that jumper trick :D. Now i have 4-4-4-9 and 440mhz E6300 is 3Ghz, just finding good 24/7 clocks, first Intel to me and before this iv only clocked one AMD Opteron and thats my overclock history thats why some settings can be so wrong, but i take advises and learning english too :rolleyes:Quote:

I get almost 3.4Ghz with 1.360(cpu-z) bus speed at 480mhz, maybe i could get 3.5Ghz if i put 1.5V to E6300, i think my Asus P5B AP aint go 500mhz Bus speed. Mems goes fine and i booted windows with 1200mhz 5-5-5-9.
Is this good or bad E6300 ?
