Has anyone updated their bios w/ beta 1302? Any observations?
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...2-SLI%20Deluxe
It is not public yet. At least not on the download pages.
I tried the 1302 for fun - nothing interesting that I've noticed. I haven't noticed any change, actually.
Anyone using EX8350 from Promise on this motherboard? What performances do you get? I am getting ridicolously low performances (worse than ATA100) when connecting 4 Raptors to the controller whereas the integrated one achieves 300+MB/s during copy operations.
Sry haven't tried it
I have installed BIOS 1302 since it was published,
works flawlessly. :)

Hi men. I have big problem with A8N32-SLI and CORSAIR 2x1GB 500MHz 3-4-4-8. Have anybody same mobo+ram? PLS write me. I have very unstable my memory:-(
BIOS 1303 is BAD! I found one BUG. He set 1T in BIOS...CPU-Z shows 2T. We set 2T in BIOS and CPZ-Z shows 2T. 1T dont works. Do you see same problem?
NOW is OK. Now is 1T in BIOS and cpu-Z shows 1T.
This bios still doesnt resolve my only issue. Whenever I plug in any bootable usb device it resets my boot order and I have to reset it in the bios (or use F8 boot screen). This is rather annoying as if I need to reboot my machine remotely and my girlfriend has plugged her iPod in the machine cant reboot successfully. Anyone else with this problem?
Do you have hard drive set as the first boot device? and disable your floppy usb won't boot if your floppy is disabled at least for me it won't.
Floppy is disabled and hard drive on SiL controller is set to boot. Its a strange one, I cant understand it :(
What other settings do you have?Quote:

FSB is 280, mem divider is 183 (opteron 148 @ 2.8ghz) stock volts, all other mem settings on default. Onboard printer port/serial/gamepad/non nvidia network card disabled. SiL controller is SATA2 mode, nvidia in RAID0 with 4 drives. Any other settings you can think of that you need to know list them and Ill let you know.
Have you tried setting everything back to default?
Does anyone know where the motherboard thermometer is located on this board?
I'm just wondering since when I installed my AC Accelero X2 on my X1800XT, the temperatures seem to have gone up pretty high which is at 47C
My CPU temperature is 38C idle with Q-Fan control enabled. I've read some replies where people have complain about temperature misreadings in this thread, is my problem the same? :(
are both temps idle temps? what are your load temps?Quote:

Both are idle temperatures, For the 47C I meant the motherboard temperature!
I think my motherboard temperature has gone crazy as it increases when the CPU is on load (e.g. Super PI 32M) and it can go over 50C . I'm using my new AC Freezer 64 Pro on my Opteron 148 which has dropped the temperatures compared to the stock cooling by a nice margin.
I'm suspecting it's my AC Accelero X2 blowing air on the motherboard temperature but I don't know where it's located and it can't blow air that hot can it?

time.
I recall that WinXP gives me a blue screen of death crash when it's
just a little way into its initial boot process.
I'm not sure about Fedora LINUX, but I think it may be crashing too,
but I forget since I don't boot it that often, and it gives me another
kind of crash-on-boot problem that's related to IDE DMA or something
unrelated to the USB devices.
For me, though, I don't recall seeing it re-map the boot priority
sequence I've defined, though, depending on whatever bootable USB
device I have plugged in. It seems like it tries to boot the expected
default OS from the default HDD if that's selected, or it tries to
boot from the other internal HDD if I use F8 to select that or
if I made another internal HDD the default, and if I select or make
default the USB DVD drive, it'll try to boot off of that (which is how
I installed WinXP / Fedora LINUX, the bootable USB DVD drive).
I'm running BIOS 1205 now, and was running an old one that came with
the board (0502 or 0504 come to mind) before that.
Quick question here; What HAL is everyone using with this mobo and a single core cpu?
I just stepped into this board from an A8N-SLI Deluxe, and I'm having issues with the system not powering down completely when shutting down.
Mine just started doing dumb $$$$. Like, it won't even finish a windows load without resetting. No BSOD. Just, a reset.
Overclocked, Stock, below stock. Doesn't matter. Fresh install of windows, then BLAM.
I have a set order when i installed drivers and it will do it at different driver installs. I'm on reload attemp number 9, and quite ready to chuck this thing for another Conroe setup.
Power supply tests fine with my power supply tester, have tried two sets of RAM (the ram in it, and another set of 2x 1GB sticks) in just about every configuration possible. One in one bank, two in one bank, two in Dual Channel . One in Single Channel. I've even pulled the sound card. But, like i said - sometimes it will start its reset crap before i get the first driver loaded, other times, it will go after ALl drivers are loaded, then do it. It's just doing everything it can to make me MAD
I just got this board but I noticed it never came with that optional heatpipe fan. Do these boards not ship with it anymore ? Would Asus send me a free one if I should have gotten one?
