As winter came i have 22C inside my room and 17C outside i did a quick IBT test first time i see IBT runing since i got the chip, when it first arrived i had 30C inside my room and 36C outside impossible to test IBT...

Damn sergio.. being able to push 4.4 Ghz stable with 1200 Mhz on your DDR2 is pretty impressive.

Damn, Damn. The more I read in this thread. the more I want to bag my current 750i Mobo.

So Napalm.. What is the big Difference from the EP45-UD3P, and say the UD3R or UD3RL. and the other question I'd rather know the answer to. Is what is the difference between the EP45-UD3P, and the ER45-Extreme! Does the extreme's NB come ready for Water.. that would be great. it looks like it.

I'm seriously considering this change napalm. as I'm not ready to go to i7 yet.

ive owned both the UD3P/UD3R and the only difference is the UD3R is single pci-e and the UD3P is dual pci-e.they perform the same for OCing.and the EP45-extreme does have waterblocks on the NB.and from what ive heard the extreme doesnt have LLC,and might need some sort of mod.but not 100% sure about this.

Well I have water. so I Might as well get the EP45-Extreme and use it's NB water block for some better cooling.. but if I won't be able to clock as well on the extreme as I would on the UD3P. then I will just get the UD3P.

The EP45-Extreme is worse than the UD3P if you didnt do the vdrop mod. If I am not mistaken the EP45-Extreme strap/divider is less buggered than the UD3P.
Normal oc for 24/7 both board clock pretty much the same. Bench or validation > EP45-DQ6 since it has higher max vtt.

....if the S3 not broken on both board at 4.4Ghz - 4.5Ghz I might still enjoy this cpu.:down:

nice score sergio, i was trying do go 4,5ghz but no luck not even 4,4ghz but 24/7 i use 4ghz @ 1,296 ultra stable prime95 how long do i want but after that its weird, first i thought it was my 780 chipset but i tryed asus p5k its the same... strange... ram goes over 1300 i dont see what is wrong exept processor cant go over 4,2 hmm

also temps are really low :S

thanks mate, UD3P's go higher on quads, i also had the P5K but no go, this UD3P are the perfect quad combo :up:

those temps you see are after runing IBT not LOAD, this quad is 1,1875 so imagine how hot is it and im on water...

Is it normal that to get over 4Ghz the VTT goes up insanely?

For 445*9 I need 1.34V VTT. For 450 *9 I need 1.38VTT. For 460*9 I need >1.44VTT.

I see ppl here running at 1.34VTT for 4.5 Ghz :shocked:

Anything to do about that?

I would say no, I use 1.28 for 480-490 and 1.30 for 500. What board are you using?

thx for reply i was hoping to get high fsb with 780i but no luck ;) just kidding ...

i think on going to P5Q-E its cheap and very overclockable... i will see
UD boards are pretty expensive and very little there are used on my forums and usenet

UD boards are cheaper then the P5Q-E and overclock better :up:

24/7 i prefer the extreme over ud3p which can withstand higher loads

even without vdrop mod.. none of my ep45s are modded

video/sound/areca1231/4x ssd - ud3p cant handle that kind of load @ 4.6ghz

on the extreme its pieceacake

its not just cpu loads its about the whole system load

so when it comes to whole system loads heres how i listem..

1 - extreme
2 - dq6
3 - ud3p

are the batches of EP45-extremes being shipped from newegg,using the A3 chipset rev?cause i heard that it still possible to get the A2 rev.

nothing wrong with A2.. A3 is no better

i was hoping for A3 extreme still got A2 but 100 extra q9650 mhz than my first A2 extreme

cant go wrong with A2.. but if you want 4.5ghz be prepared to run ram @ 2.4/2.5v which ive been doing since last year on the gskill pc8800 2x2gb kits.. havent lost any module @ 2.5v yet :)

What alternatives do I have to lower VTT? More MCH/Vcore/PLL?

For 4050 this are my settings:

Vcore 1.30 LLC
PLL 1.50
VTT 1.38
MCH 1.30
Mem 2.4B 2.1V @ 1080 5-5-5-18
Everything else @ AUTO

To get 4140 for instance I need VTT of 1.44 :down: and VCore of 1.35.

What high does VTT say? Crap chip or Crap mobo?
