Cool to the touch processor is an indication of the PWM circuit not being turned on. Constant 15 volts could have definately took out the board. If a new PSU wil solve the issue or not doesn't really matter. You will have to replace the PSU before using it on any other board.
you think?? i dont see any signs of anything burned up or anything like that. nothing smells, but i know it could still be damaged. will dfi rma this if i need to it was bought from newegg.. or am i stuck because it was the psu??
I would RMA both the PSU and the board.
does the board have over voltage protection???
man this sucks so bad i NEED this system for work. should i run to the local staples and grab a psu to test first i can always return it to them if i know its both the board and the psu.. i just hope someone will cover the mobo.. if thats no good.. but you think it took out the pwm circuit? or is there a chance its still okay?? or that will give me time to get a new psu if i know the board is okay ill use the staples one in the meantime..
is there anything else that would cause the chip to run cool or not come on?? im just wondering if there is anything else i can check (i know i have to send back the psu) but i want to this time make sure nothing else will hold me up AGAIN..?
hmmm i went out and grabbed a antec unit from staples to test out.. when the psu is plugged into this mobo i get the same result of the high readings?? so is the mobo causing the issues??? it would seems so. the antec isnt as high as the corsair one but its over 14v on the 12v rail
zfactor take the battery out or reset cmos with the jumper
i get 88 code stuk every time i get a bad overclock
boot 1 time with another card
i did that.. both things. i left the battery out for a while even after trying for only a few seconds. cleared the cmos jumper many times. what do you mean boot with a different card?? you mean gpu or cpu ive tried both things.. nothing helps... the mobo just sits there with 88 on and fans spinning. i also tried different ram, 3 cpu's and 2 gpu's while booting.. i played with this thing all day and got pretty frustrated i couldnt get it to do anything
still doesnt explain why im seeing 15+v with a dmm with the mobo hooked up??
yep.. im sending it back to corsair this week.. sucks..
you need to discharge all current from the board n try a good psu
next step is rma
Did you have the LT or the UT ver? Just curious because I am deciding if upgrading to the UT version will have any performance enhancement. I know that my LT version was made in China. I was wondering if the boards that MoboPro have are from Taiwan ... or China. I got my LT X48 when they first came out and I am not really liking the limitations my LT (China) X48 board is having. Anyone have a Taiwanese UT X48 board?
mobo was sent off to dfi today... using my maximus atm. how is their rma system?
I just noticed that when I set my CPU voltage in the bios, it shows up a little higher in Windows.
For example:
CPU: 1.4875V
OS: ~1.54V (OCCT, Smart Guardian, CPU-Z all report the same)
I'm familiar with vdroop but on my Asus board it would drop a few voltage (not up).
hi, can anyone help me improving the memory copy performance? I have been playing with my UT X48 for a week and this is the best i can get, I dont know why theres such a difference between the read and copy performance. but if I use 1:1 divider, 450 fsb and 4-4-4-12 timing the read/copy are about the same. im using 4x1gb ballistix

Well, about 3 months ago DFI released the UT X48-T2R. The only beta BIOS 06/02 looks realy promisingly and I hope that DFI will release the final BIOS with the new micro code for 45nm CPUs soon. The last thing that will complete my new rig is this BIOS. I want to wait for it because I want to use this rig as my new 24/7 gaming system. Sure, the initial BIOS isnīt bad but why would DFI need so much time for this BIOS when it wouldnīt kick ass. So if there are some news or infos about the new BIOS please be sure to let me know ;)
Just bought the LT board as suggest by others in this forum. Planning to watercool the NB so the UT version would not work well for me...
Anyways, I got the board from motherboard pros. It is made in china :( I also purchased 8GB G.skill PC2 1100. Is there any hope at hitting 500 FSB? Will this memory even work with the motherboard?
all of the x48 are made in china, and what cpu are u getting, a 45nm quad would be hard to get 500mhz but most other chips should do it, especially the dual cores
also there is no need for 1100mhz ram if your going for 500mhz fsb with power chips then u wont need over 1066
I had a weird problem install Vista on a RAID 0 array.
I built the array in the Intel BIOS no problem. Well I started the Vista install CD. Interestingly enough, the Vista installer noticed the array right away without drivers. However, I wanted to install the drivers supplied anyways. So I put in the floppy disk, selected 64 bit drivers. However, the Vista installer said the drivers could not be loaded. Then I go back, and the harddrive is no longer available!
So I had to re-start the installer, and just used the drivers that came with vista. Is this normal? Any idea why the drivers provided didn't work?
Oveall really nice board, I like it so far! Overwhelming bios... never be able to learn it all.
well it was the mobo. whatever was wrong with it was making the psu throw out some weird numbers. i got the rma from newegg today and hooked it up and it booted on the first try. so looks like the psu is fine.. so what could have done that to the psu and make it throw out that high of voltage like that??
anyway im sure ill have some questions but at least for now vista is installed and all is running nice..
questions #1 lol... what should the jmicron controller be set to in the bios if im using it for 2 cd/dvd drives....normal ide, or ahci and ide? im using the intel ich9 for all hdd's in a full raid array and extra drives so the cd drives will run off the j micron and they seem to run fone but the system seems to hang on boot depending on the setting of the jmicron as mentioned above.
once i get all the drivers installed and everything running the way i want it ill begin to oc it
