explains the good overclock but also, it looks like your cpu is a good chip...BTW, what is your VID for that chip?
the DFI LT does offer mucho settings!!:up:..BUT...i like to have simplicity...it is the reason i returned to my IP35 Pro...i was getting the exact same overclock with air (TRUE)...big difference for the DFI was not having vdroop, and you had three 16x PCIe slots; two of them giving full 16x speed....layout was also excellent!
I got the Abit board in X'mas and was quite happy with it running at 3.7 water cooled, because the very same chip hit a fsb wall of 335 on the P5W DH.Quote:

I love to tweak, which is one of the reasons I got this board. It may not have enough fsb if I go SS though. Maybe a bios change will help. The Abit's a great board and would have been at the top of my list, but I wanted to play with some crossfire later.

A thought, not necessarily related to the above posts.
A lot of instabilities can be attributed to higher than needed voltages. I think some people around just pick random numbers from the air or use other members settings, when it is best to set you own from proper testing. You need to isolate the memory subsytem and the cpu from each other to see what is causing the stability issues.
1. Test memory subsystem
a: It is best to start at your chosen/desired FSB with the lowest multi that will give you the closest to your stock speed. Set your memory using a 1:1 divider. Start at stock voltages, increasing your mch voltage slowly until stable (prime95 blend ~ an hour).
b: Then after that is stable you can adjust dividers and timings. Bringing up your memory speed and possibly tighter timings. Slowly increasing voltages on the mch again until stable (again prime95 blend ~ an hour). If you set you memory out of spec you will also need to raise your ddr voltage.
After you reach this point you know you memory subsystem is stable. This should not change with the adjustment of the cpu multi.
2. Test Cpu
a. raise your multi up until you reach your desired speed. then slowly increase your cpu voltage until stable (prime95 small fft ~ an hour).
If you have not followed these steps, how can anyone know why another persons system isn't stable?
70% OC in the Q6600 (to achieve 4050Mhz) with a 0.2v increase in vCore is VERY low if we are speaking the same language...Quote:

I am not personally experiencing any problems, I just think that some peoples issues could be attributed to poor testing methods.
Without even seeing you screens I was pretty close. 1.5v would be absolute max I'd put on a g0 quad, and i wouldn't do it for 24/7 use either. Too risky imho.
At stock my q6600 g0 is around 1.24v at stock, 1.216 FSBv, ~1.3 NBv. Based on my quad those voltages are quite a bit higher. I wouldn't say Low at all.
While your o/c is very good, and the voltages are relatively low "for the achievement", they are not low in the scheme of things relative to a g0 quad. For me, these voltages are more along the lines of moderate-high for every day use. I just wouldn't do it. To each his own I guess.
Are these 8hrs+ prime stable or are you along the lines of 30mins stable is good enough?
Each to there own like you said but 1.5v is the maximum limit Intel recommend on the stock cooler so theoretically perfectly safe & made even more so with upgraded cooling like we all use.Quote:

Maybe so, but it is not "low". You said it your self "maximum limit", so even with after market cooling it is at the "high" end of things. This doesn even take into accoutn any voltage spikes that can and may happen.
This is my point.
u guys should stop quoting gtl settings without voltage they are in a percentage relationship of what u need with the voltage and in numerical form so that u get fin tweaks so saying that 99 or 80 worked is meaningless without the reference voltage for that gtl that u used
