hey for the vmod, i saw some post. i know it was mentioned before in the mess of pages. but what type of resistor do i need? 650kohm?
what type of solder did you guys use?
I hope you have really steady hands, have you seen the size of those resistors?
I just started with the board tonight, straight in at 3.6GHz 450x8. The droop is quite bad,
1.53v bios
Idle
1.46-1.49 uguru
1.50 actual
Load.
1.42-1.46 uguru
1.455 actual
And the vcore is solid as a rock, third digit flickers only 0.004/5. The droop doesn't seem to effect the stability. Just took this chip from an Asus Blitz and Formula (both faulty), they needed 1.49v and 1.47v to get 8hrs prime. Early days yet but this board looks like 1.45v will be enough.

Ridiculous... It may have taken a service pack and a few patches to get XP where it needed to be, but for the last few years it's been outstanding. Stable, fast, great driver support, and the best thing MS ever did... And yes it smokes Mac's fantasy OS as well.
I've been through 18 months of Vista beta's and have run the final release for 3 months before I couldn't take that crap any longer.
There's a good reason that the government has instructed all agencies to stay clear of Vista, as well as Corporate America has done the same... This POS is no where ready for prime time!
If you are having good luck with it than fine, if you are running current hardware then you really have no idea what it can do until blow that BS OS off the machine and get back to reality... :)
Regards-
Is this a fluke?
I just enabled volume write back cache.
I thought it would only increase burst rate.

Their is a newer raid driver released from Intel, not sure if your using it but see below.
Just a brief update to the original thread/post:-
1) Added more Air Cooler compatability.
2) Added more ram compatability.
3) Updates to the following drivers (See below)

hmm lol wonder if those new realtek lan drivers would have fixed my lan dying out of suspend mode all the time. Ohwell i bought a cheapo pcie x1 rosewill, it actually works very well, cpu usage is only 2% while transfering large amounts of data over my network. Although thats at 100/mb, iam to ghetto for gigabit yet
The raid driver listed seems to be for everything but P35 chipsets and ich9r. I didnt see these guys listed in the list of applicable chipsets
Edit: nevermind I see the ich9r listed must of missed it, still dont see P35. Good links though.
No really lol, I was gonna be like   :banana: my raptors, I'm getting these! :am:
NO, it's not a fluke. I had to do the same (enable write back caching) to go from 153mb/s and 399 burst to this:
3x7200.10's Raid0

Hey, guys. Wondering if you guys could tell me if these settings are too much or not enough besides CPU vid and mem voltage
Core Speed ~ 3150MHZ
EXT Clock ~ 350 MHZ
CPUcore+ ~1.31v
DDR2 ~ 2.2V
DDR2 VTT `~ 1.09v
CPU VTT 1.2V `~ 1,24v
MCH 1.25V ~ 1.33V'
ICHIO 1.5V ~ 1.51V
ICH 1.05V ~1.06
EDIT: These Readings are taken from UGuru
Everything is so scattered around in this thread and incomplete in allot of instances its kinda hard to make head or tales!
@ Ace-a-Rue hey man would you mind telling me what that Peg Force X1 is supposed to be set at for our cards, it should be set to disabled correct? Alo I notice I take a almost 500 Point hit in Burst speed on this board compared to my EVGA 680I A1 I was getting 1245 Burst now its like 762 Burst speed is that right to take that kind of hit on these boards?
Also too why do both of my Plextor drives come up as SCSI CDROM device in Device Manager? My Plextor 750 A works without issue but my 230A CDRW X52 does not work and it has a flag next to it in Device Manager I also cannot upgrade the Plextor Firmware either as it says device not installed:confused: Device Manager states Code 10 device cannot start,
Man what is it with all of these friggin Intel Boards since C2D hit they all have more problems than a dog has fleas!
hmmm....
abit not the panacea you thought it would be?
Oh and by the way the volt droop mod works perfectly. 1Kohm 22 turn pot and really steady hands = hardly any droop at all. Set 1.46 gets idle 1.455v to 1.452 at load. Previously 1.53v in bios = 1.455v
