Had a successful flash to 1503 thru EZ Flash in BIOS using a floppy.
No issues so far.:D
Testing @ 375 x 9 now for stability and hope to get to 3.5 or 3.6.

If this CPU does not make 3.5 stable I will have to try the L630A768.

Done it many times, and had no difference. I suggest as you are the one trying to convince the world Orthos is useless, then perhaps you could show us screen grabs and settings of where and when this occurs, and if it is repeatable.Quote:

You sure it is not something like running different types of tests in Prime and not Orthos? You can have for example a OC/mem problem that passes small FFTs always, but fails on large, or vice versa...

My 24/7 overclock for summer is 3600Mhz at 1.525v - 48 hr Orhos stable - load temps 54C orthos, about 40-42C load temps with anything I actually run on it. So plenty cool.
Ok, I like It being quiet too, But I'm a realist, My C2Q cpu(Yep I have 1, See the pic below) will be cooled by a Vigor Monsoon II hsf-tec and I might exchange the fan for a faster and yeah a louder one(46cfm vs 142cfm), But I'm also insulating the case to make It somewhat more quiet, It's a Thermaltake Mambo case with an air filter built in, The motherboard is a P5W DH with 2Gb OCZ PC2-8000 ram(Gold, 5-6-6-15).Quote:

hrm i don't know if you'd want to insulate that thing, i mean, doesn't that hsf-tec thing create a lot of hot air in the case? that might not be good if the hot air can't get out. but do keep us posted on how the cooler works, i might pick one up if it actually works better than decent water.

I am, mosfets don't get hot anyway, no point changing stock or even having a cooler on there at all.. The stock one is more dissipation area for the northbridge and also so you can have the option of actively cooling the northbridge.Quote:

But that was before the Ultra 120, which has the benefit of being able to use 2 quiet fans push/pull. the problem was on 1407 and its still on 1507, i dont know if it was before , with 1305
I just flashed to 1503 without a hitch. I'm sure glad asus decided to be "vapochill friendly"
Actually i bought my 4th p5wdh and surely the last one.The first one(1.02,rev 1.65) clocked very well and liked vmch.Too bad it couldn't boot more than 414fsb from bios(only from win).
The second one (1.02,rev1.85) didn't like a lot vmch but i had problem identifying my ecc ram from bios.
The third one (1.03,rev1.85) didn't like vmch and had fsb wall around 435.
The last one (1.03,rev1.85) didn't like vmch also and had fsb wall at around 440.Moreover i have the same issue with my ecc rams problem.Surely this is the last one..good luck guys!

To be safe, keep vcore below 1.55v in BIOS and keep the coretemps below 65C. This should cause no problems.Quote:

I'll take the Ultra 120 over the Ninja. I used the Ninja before on a Pentium D rig clocked to 3.9GHz, and it was only 1 degree better than a Thermalright SI-120 on full load. So I promptly sold the Ninja the next day and used back the SI-120. :(Quote:
