I just booted my new opteron 165 last night at 9*312 and it ran dual prime for 16hours till I ended it at 2.8 ghz,,,,

give it a shot and see what it does,,, good luck

At what speed did you start needing voltage?

How much voltage does it need at 2.8?

Can you post a screenshot of 10 minutes dual prime at 2700 with stock voltage?

I just got my Opty 165 in from Newegg today (0550 UPMW) and primed it for over an hour right away with 2.7 @ 1.35Vcore, which I'm very happy about! :D I can't figure out why I can't go any higher, no matter how much Vcore, etc., I throw at it. I'm using 2GB GSkill HZ, ASUS A8N32-SLI, and TTBT for aircooling. Any thoughts? The mem is set to 5:6, fyi;)

It takes 1.48v for 2.8 but that was before it was burnt in at all so it may be a little less now. I'm currently at 2.9 with 1.48v primed 7hrs. before I stopped it, gonna do my 24hr run today. I'll get you a screen shot in a few.:)

hey ben lovely just what i need to see as i have 170 0544XPMW and 0546XPMWs that will go on phase change later... when does the cold bug kick in on your cpu ?

IHS is off and no cold bug found on mine, this is a decent stepping. evaporator around -47~-48C' :D :D :D Single stager is fine but I don't know if the cold bug would show up under LN2 and cascade.

With my opteron 165 CCBWE 0550 UPMW I'm priming now at 1.45 * 1.1 = 1.595v. Smartguardian shows 1.58. I'm only using air cooling, so this is probably as high as I could take it. I'm going to try to start easing off the voltage.

Hrmmm, this sucks I ordered from ZZF basically the the same time as Mysterfix and this chip doesn't perform even close to his two. :cool:

Is ccbwe 0550 upmw stepping any good? I'm doing some shopping and just found someone on ebay selling a 170 with this stepping (Item number: 6842114887), wondering how well this stepping overclock?

I had siginifcant ram issues trying to get prime 95 stable on a 0546 xpmw ..even at settings that were ok with previous cpus

I loosened them abit and proceed to get 15 hrs of large fft before stopping..so go back and lower ram settings....

I've started a thread pertaining to my RAM / MOSFET cooler for anyone still interested in my little project :)
