this thread is not for "well made pictures" Thats what the photoshop thread is for. (even though i knew what you meant)
its a "picture of the day", and a picture of the day can be a turd, it doesnt matter what the picture is, its MY picture of the day or yours, or Snipe Doggs, or Marin's or what ever.
no one cares when they post a picture what anyone thinks, if they are posting a picture for everyone's approval then thats not what this thread is for, its for posting a picture that I like, you them whatever.
and animal pictures are some of the best in my opinon, be it a cat or dog or bird, and i have some cool bird pictures as the wife volunteers at our local Raptor Center.
frankly many times the subject matter isn't the point of the picture, its the cool lighting effect, or water effect, or slow shutter effect, again the subject could be a turd but the way the light hit it, it was cool as hell.
so thats what the picture of the day is for and if you do not like it sorry, maybe you should make your own flicker page where you can post things souly based on getting peoples appraisal.
all that being said, here is mine for the day.
a picture perfect moment when the wife realized what that warm feeling was on her leg.

I'm going to have to agree to a certain extent with Frogbite. I dislike it when blatantly bad pictures are posted. By this I don't mean beginners posting their best shot and it not being up to scratch with the more advanced photographers, I mean the pictures that were taken without any effort, where the photographer couldn't care less how it finally looks like. I was also under the impression that this was a bit of a showcase, a demonstration of each photographers abilities, rather than a place to throw random images. This is why I post my EXIF data, so that other people can see what I've done, why, and therefore comment and suggest improvements.
Anyways, my picture of the day, first one that I've posted with my D90.

To Tarowah: Heh, nice spider.. first time I saw it, I tough he is wearing black glasses. :D
To FrogBite: Its "Picture of the day" ! thread.. which means exactly what it says and it can be completely different to everyone.. I personaly donīt care what exactly ppl post here. When its good or somehow interesting photo, I comment it, if I feel that I "must". When its bad or average or I just feel, that theres no need to comment it, I donīt comment it..
And about that photo which lies in your stomach, its just quite ok photo of cat, nothing exceptional, but its not bad.. plus taking in account you didnīt even post your photo here.. you simply donīt have right to comment it this way. If someone really wants to say that this photo is not to his liking, well, post what should be improved on that photo and leave it. This kind of "comment" you wrote doesnīt make world better place, nor this thread. Btw. that "ch" in your location stands for what? :)
To 1avatar:
Nice scenery you have there..
Scares me that you answer for me...
I did post pics. Look at them and please if you like them comment. If you don't as well :D
How can you comment on how to improve a picture of a cat, where the cat is the only subject of the picture and there is no background? Get a different cat maybe? :D

Talking about your stuff I really like that last picture.
Havent talked much on this thread just really like to see what all you people put out and I must say you all put out great stuff. I have even used some pictures for my laptop backgrounds.
Please keep up the great work guys/gals
I never meant to insult anyone due to their photos, all I mean is that some noticable effort should go into looking for a suitable subject matter and not just shoot anything and then let photoshop make it look different.
