OK version 1.44.1 CPU-Z reads 1.200v with 1.365v set in BIOS, uGuru reads 1.37v
This is with an E8500 on my Abit X38/latest BIOS, under load or idle....
What should i expect from this chip? 1.1125 VID and my batch number is Q76A366
I think that's the case too. I need to add some more volts on that end... but I just feel like it's getting super hot even with the little fan.
I have nothing but bad luck past about 475. Even with multiple voltage combinations. I need to figure out if it's the memory or the NB itself. I'll tinker around some more.
Is anyone even getting past 3dmark06 at 4500+? That's my main benchmarking tool that I like to try to break.
Oh by the way.... 1.26 is very nice for 4000mhz!
Thats odd, Mine is Prime and OCCT stable for 2Hours (Will fail between 2hours 30min or so) but i need some bios updates before i can probably get her there. Im at 1.3V on load (1.350 in bios) at 3.83 (1780 QDR)
This chip is really good just need some more bios updates ^_^
Mine idles at 36-37 with a Zalman 9700, Great cooler but she's turning 3 years soon haha. Looking at either the TRUE or the Chilltec Ultra, leaning towards the Ultra because i wont have to lose my 250CM fan since the Chilltec isnt as big height wise :)
Yeah, but I hold faith that later batches of these babies will make up for the loss ATM. Regardless of the relative stability, the E8400 is a monster overclocker and can only get better over time.
And even if you deem these Wolfdale's a let-down, there are always the E8500's which are very impressive.
Mine hasnt disappointed me, I just went through a week of hell with the Asus P5N-T Deluxe, but now that i have this eVGA board, man im loving it. Few bios updates and i'll be 4GHz rock solid
I've already had my E8200 stable at 4Ghz on the Foxconn Mars. My E8400 needs more Vcore to run 4Ghz compared to my current E8200. Weird but true :)
Doesnt the E8400 have more Cache though? I'd have to look it up but im browsing coolers for my northbridge haha. Yea im probably going to pick up a new cooler soon.. Too long i've had this zalman
They all have same amount of cache - 6MB and that's a lot :D
The difference is only the default clock speed.
Oh, i wasnt sure. Thats nice though, All i can do is just wait now, but im really happy with how my SLi performs even at 3.83, Way better then my Athlon 4800+ S939 that was OC'd to 2.8GHz Way better then that but i wanted 4GHz, just for that big 4 haha
a little more overclock

i set 1.56 on bios but on windows are 1.62 ...and
i know is much vcore but this is not my 24/7 just i try how much more can run this 8400 by air.
Nice, Those Foxconn's are really impressive. If i didnt have SLi i'd go grab one right now heh

hey just for know how u can hide the voltage on cpuz...never saw before...then in windows vcore is higher than bios??that s strange..i did the same just for bench but was 1.587 on bios and 1.56 on windows
full load tudo bem ok...

Some boards overvolt, some undervolt. CPU-Z most of the time is correct. But sometimes can also lead to misreadings.
