looking great ;)
Nice setup
That isn't a rolling eye smilie. That's a lookin-up-with-admiration smilie, or so I interpret it.
here is my rig
by the way its a little bright
I like the way you did the GPU wiring...
Sweet build! I really like the case. What kind is it? HAF?
CM HAF X ^ (aka HAF 942)
its the haf x like ScottALot said
i have had the haf 932 and to be honnest the haf-x is fantastic so much space and better looking to me becuse it comes already black inside it also has filters everyware what the 932 did not have (i recomed this case to anyone)
Andrea deluxe (appologise for long post)
what mobo are you using and cpu do you have and oc your running
its just i have the gigabite ud5 (i think the one you have) and i was wondering what scaling your getting with tri-sli
i have been considering getting another gtx 470 but dont reall know if its worth it plus i might have to upgrade my psu dont think my coolermaster silent pro 850watt will cut it since my i7 920 is at 3.8ghz
i dont know what do you think?
sweet rig by the way and i wold recomend getiing a 3wat sli brige that is black it will look sicker than it alreaddy is if you can ge them i think evga are black
ps if you can can you turn (off) phyx and run 3d mark vantage and let me know what you getting for cpu and gpu points please if you can i know the cpu score goes thue the roof it physx is on abd is not a reliable score to me
thanks :)
the one thing wold have changed on the haf-x is to have a secont psu fitting at the top of the case like the 932 but i have to say i prefer the looks on the top of the haf-x becuse it hides the fans if your looking down at the case
if you know what i meen
if i was any good at painting a case i wold have done the same and saved the money but im rubbish at it lol
im still thinking of ways to make my case more neat it still seems a little messy to me :)
i am running a 1080p res but im not sure if it will be worth getting another 470
but im really stuck on what to upgrade in my rig (im no way getting ssd's) i just cant justify the price of them at the mo
if anyone has got an i idea plese let me know if you want
here is the full specks
cm haf-x case
cm silent pro modular 850watt psu
gigabite ud5 mobo rev 1.0
core i7 920@ 3.8ghz linx stable 1.25volt (bios)
corsair h50 cpu cooler with akasa viper pwm fan for pull fan
enermax apolish vegas for push
corsair xms 3 6gb kit 1600mhz memory 9.9.9.24 @1448 8.8.8.20 1.5volt
zotac gtx 470 sli
seagate 500gb hdd (windows 7 x64bit)
seagate 1.5tb for game installs
as i sead if thare is anything i can get for an upgrade plese let me know if you can
thanks for looking at my rig and for any help you can give :)
I love that pic of the drop of pure awsome on your i7, Tommy_Hewitt. CLU has turned out to be a real winner for me in the past half year.
i would say that there is a lot of heat inside, because od 3 gtx480
3x GTX480 & Mid tower case? Sense? NO :D
Does anybody know why we still don't have "Air Cooling Worklogs"???
Some month ago I sent some PMs to the admins (none was answered) and nothing was done...
This looks to me like the forum says "You need watercooling!!!"
I like my liquid system but I still prefer my air-cooled systems :D:D:D

Hey guys, my first setup;
Xigmatek Achilles, superflower case, i forget the model but it was about $130 and it's an amazing case for that price, there is one 200mm blue led intake fan on the side panel, and one 200mm exhaust fan on the top, one 120mm exhaust on rear and one 140mm intake on the front.. Let me know what you think :) it's nothing special, but yeah.

Because most air-cooled setups consists just a simple, straightforward heatsink, advices and critiques aren't much needed to build such a simple setup. A long, detailed air-cooling worklog is extremely rare.
It is best to just post a worklog on this section
My ultimate point was, if there is a worklog section for air-cooling, it won't be as popular as the WC worklog section.
Most people's air cooling setup typically just involves a heatsink for the processor, some case fans and customize their setups. Some of them (not a lot) might even put in another heatsink for the GPU.. Thing is, most of air-cooled setups can hardly be as complicated than water cooled setups. Most of them just doesn't have enough "work" to be taken as a worklog.
OK, so it this your point:
It will not be as popular as other ones so leave it away - even though it would be ~0 additional work for the mods and many users want to have it?
To me this still looks like you have to get a watercooled system because there isn't even a folder for your air cooled system...
(this is what a PC and XS beginner might think)
No dude, let's put it this way..
If you just set up a worklog subsection for air cooled systems, it won't give as much popularity. To prove my point, just browse through the air cooled section; you will see there is only one popular worklog - which is your Pink Project.
Look at it this way, if they set up an exclusive worklog subsection for air-cooled machines, your thread might be the only popular one during a time period. Seeing a subsection only having a few threads, that subsection will eventually be neglected by the members... Negative effect for you guys.
This might make me sound like an air-cooling hater, but to be honest I've never tried water cooling:p:

9 fans (u can only see 5 in pic), space for 24 HDDs :D
castors/wheels are mod.. will change them to double-wheel per axle this week for a more 'industrial' look :D

CSE - Lian Li PC-Q11B
now that is interesting
¿Laine why are you so awesome building rigs? You can't stop surprising me, when i think you're finally done with building during a short time period you just came and show us another fantastic work.
Just amazing, the pics are all going to the Laine Folder on my computer :D
And oh well... I forgot to say that I can always learn and take some ideas from your current works. Now I know how to get inside my SFX Silverstone SFX 450W on the Lian Li PC-Q08 for not making it look odd without needing to make a handmade plate or painting the actual one ;D I really like the look.
Maybe it's time to say I'm a big fan haha
I can't figure out a way to do a "clean" build for a mini-itx and I have a large case, go figure!
That said, here's some pics to mess up all the pretty pictures you guys have posted thus far. :D

I can't fit anything else into this case!
Wait a second O__o M-ITX!? Looks like that 5970 can fit there O_____________________o
What kind of psu is there? sfx? and wattage?
It's a standard psu with custom length cables. 600w, 46A.
Here's the stats for the case and psu: silverstonetek.com/products/p_spec.php?pno=SG07&area=usa
Mini itx is becoming somewhat mainstream with support for high end CPUs, gpus and OCing options.
@Laine, I always love your builds dude... but this one is really special.
Laine how much power consumption is that thing drawing from the mains?
So how's the SuperMega perform?
poparamiro, when will you test the Zalman CNPS9900 MAX?
Soon i will do some preliminary tests with Supermega (i expect to do a little better than Megashadow, on some settings) .
Regarding Zalman, no place for 9900 MAX in my future supercoolers article. I expect from Zalman to come with good tower or twin tower arhitecture for successfully compete with supercoolers.
I'm most interested in the SuperMega release for the 140mm fan clips and mounting system to allow mounting of 140mm fans.
Lets go ghetto mode.
Zip-tie mounted AMD Copper heatpipe cooler and cardboard box air duct and 120mm fan.
Below the cooler intel i3 540, this is going to be my htpc.

Just finished upgrading my cooling :D
http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/9338/70422226.png
Here is my computer about a year ago in August, I have switched over to watercooling on the cpu but I still think the Thermalright ifx-14 looked nice

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...st09build2.jpg
Matt220, you should take the fan on the heatsink to the left and put it on the right, pushing... I don't think it'll hit the memory if that's your concern.
ahah, yes karbonkid but the water makes my computer quiet so I can certainly hear him now :p:
I actually found the temps to be better in that configuration surprisingly, because the 2000rpm fans were actually forcing the air into the case fan. oh well, Im liquefied now!
my gaming rig in the college~
lol what's up with those stickers?
He uses them to cover up the crappy labels of the PSU, something like 80PLUS certified.
Glad to see another Chinese on XS :D
oh, that power supply sucks. I bought it on 360buy which is quite a famous IT retail website in China. The PSU cost me RMB299, and after I got it I was astonished to find out that its PCB, filing up only half of the PSU's interior, is just the same as a 300W supply.
299RMB/7.5 = $40US or so
Doing a refresh on my ancient V1200. I love this case! This is only partially done, I'm still waiting on a side panel, good rubber fan mounts, and a donor V1100 for internal parts and the USB/Audio front panel module. I will be stripping them from the case, making necessary cable management parts, then getting them painted black at the body shop next door.

Should be a Noctua C12P.
Yap. Its a noctua C12P with a scythe sflexE.
Why there is that little heatsink on top of the base? O__o

igortricolor, what are you using as a camera??
Just squeezed a Silver Arrow inside that pooer-little SilverStone Fortress FT01, ATX case, on top of the SR-2 :)
Tried a Noctua NH-14 on CPU#o, but couldn't get a better temp.
I guess those huge coolers where choking each other, or something, so I ended up with a Megahalem on CPU#0 for now.
Both CPUs are running with the same load-temp. :)
