NICE, eva....what is the maximum mhz running wPrime 1024M stability bench for that 8500?...i use that bench for my stability test.

Hi guys
why if i am trying to change vtt voltage in bios i cant see the diffrence in programs like cpuz or everest? they still have automatic voltage 1.12v
what i am doing wrong?
How did you get on installing audio drivers? Mine always says driver installation failed. Grrr. Maybe theres a site to get them from? As thats all I get when installing from the CD
qx9650 @ 4.0 Ghz. Nice low voltages too!

oh sorry i am looking for cpu voltage options
but i can't see different options abt cpu voltage in the bios
in bios voltage page i have smt like this:
sb core/cpu pll voltage -1.51
nb core voltage -1.265
cpu vtt voltage -1.211
clock gen woltage 3.45v
gtl ref voltage - disable
which options are for cpu core voltage change?
my cpu stocked in 3.37ghz, probably i need to make higher voltage
Still getting driver failed on audio drivers even downloading new ones from dfi site. any ideas?
Right now, I am testing my other pc, but I believe my vid was about 1.136 or so. I'll verify that later for you.
These results were done with 4x2gb of g.skill as well. :D
Anything above 4ghz needs a bit more voltage, much like all the others I see out there. I am a bit wary to throw 1.4v at if for an extra 200mhz. That and the heat also increases into the 60's when loaded, and I'm watercooled here.
I think 4ghz is my ideal for this chip. I have also test with the exact same voltages at 421x9.5 and it is prime stable over a couple of hours, so I think the fsb is going to be where I squeeze a bit of extra performace out of it. This may, however be limited a bit by the 8gb of memory I have installed.
This article was very helpful on finding the right voltages for my cpu, and memory subsystem. I highly recommend it.
Overclocking Intel's New 45nm QX9650: The Rules Have Changed
So hows this Board compared to the mighty P35?
Nice oc..... you must be that funny looking guy I met at NCIX yesterday:D
Pitt, are we sure its a bios thing and not the board itself thats limiting the fsb on the wolfies? Any news when a new bios will be out? thanks
I wont bother testing for stability yet till they release a new bios to fix the wolfdale issues... I get BSOD even at faily low clocks once in a while...
yeah, 500*8 is easy strait off the bat
500fsb is not a problem but we'd like to see the cpu hit the fsb wall instead of the mobo:(, I thought I was haveing the worst luck cos I tried 2 E8400 and both cant get past 530fsb...
Thanks.... actually its more the 2 mobos in your sig that made me recognized you... now I know how to get in touch with you if ever I need a stock cooler for my QX hehe....
Has anyone gotten clockgen or setfsb working on this board. Thanks
yes 500mhz , but high fsb is > 600mhz.
i boot maximum to 520mhz on the DFI X38 and maxscreen to 540mhz.
The LP UT P35 tr2 one does easy 600mhz ... and the DARK P35 seems to do like LP LT X38 TR2. where are the mistake ??? PCB / Bios or chipset itself.
For the moment , only unlocked multi CPU's can do nice OC on it :D

Has ANYONE got their audio to work on a DFI? Im going to have to go buy an audio card I think if I cant sort this.
Cheers
Sheldon
yes, setfsb works perfectly. :)
just select the "CY28551LFXC" clock generator

mine with setfsb if i boot 500 fsb and give just one all freeze....but it is not the wall i can boot and 520 but whatever above 500 i can't do it work....
I have an E8500...
I am with the fisrt bios may want update??
How i will do it and what bios do you suggest?
