Hmmm, who does the Doctor go to when he catches the fever????
Dr. SiG, maybe you better take two quads and call MM in the morning....:ROTF:

Guys, we have to do better than this. I know some of you are giving it everything you have. But only 255 of our BOINC users returned results today. We aren't going to catch anyone unless more people step up to the plate.
(End of speech)
I'm trying my best, but I agree that 255/720 isn't great. I have three computers crunching away for the team.=]
And thanks for your effort. By the way, I see this is your first post. Welcome.:) But I know you've been contributing for some time now.
When I compile the stats every day, it's a little disheartening to see zero's next to a lot of team member's names. I know there are those who have lost interest, others who are concerned about their power bills, etc. As I mentioned elsewhere, people don't have to run at full load to contribute. Even running at half load or part of the day will help. Also, I know this is strictly a volunteer effort. But I hope people will feel a sense of team pride. There's no reason why we should be getting beat by Easynews, even though they have a lot more members.
Power bills are the least of most people from this teams concerns as far as I can tell from reading around the forums. All of these people benching and spending tons of cash on there systems can't be hurting for cash much! lol
I'd like to be able to afford beefing up my computer. =p
Thanks for the welcome sierra!
I hope to have another machine crunching within a month. I'm just waiting for some of the newer boards to be released. I could put something together within a week. But I want a really fast board. My philosophy is, why not crunch in style.:D
Heh, I'm 17 with no job so I can't afford much atm. I'm really wanting to build a quad based system though. XD
I sometimes dream of having 40 quads like DDT - in much the same way that I dream of dating a super model. I know it's not going to happen, but it's always fun to plan a new build. So in that vein, what do you have in mind? I'm guessing X48?
Welcome to the team and thanks for helping!
17 is a tough time..No one wants to see you as an adult and your well beyond being a kid..Hard to find decent work..
Glad to see we got you on XS tonight.. That was a bit of a battle but Vapor came through for us..
Thanks Vapor!
It's rough going that long between builds. I'm trying to develop that kind of self control. This last time i bought all the parts and let them "age" for several weeks before putting them together. That way it doesn't feel as if its been so long since your last fix.
 The shortest amount of time I've put in between two of my machines is 3 yearsQuote:

Yes, I'm a little surprised at myself. I used to buy a new board every other week. lol. I have a 680i board that's been crunching non-stop for over a year. A lot of people said 680i boards were junk. My experience has been different. I think the 790i board may be a little cheaper than X48. Just a guess. The X48 boards are probably going to retail for $300 or more. I can get 2GB of DDR3 for around $200. I could buy six pairs of DDR2 for that much money.
I built my Abit IP35 Pro cruncher back in October. Since then I've bought a bigger monitor, a spare HDD and a wireless adapter. That's about it. The delivery trucks used to be in front of my house practically every day. At one time I had five DFI NF4 boards. Don't ask me why I had so many. I later sold them all.
I took this pic when I had "only" four.:D

Do you bother with cases anymore? or, just put them in cardboard boxes? or, just layout around on a table?
this would be a good question for DDT :yepp:
