You use dual walled heatshrink? If so what size are you using? I had trouble getting dual walled heatshrink to fit inside the connector afterwards.Quote:

Even though this isnt relative as far as the audio talk goes, i do have a question: how many wires are there in a 3,5mm microphone jack? Im in the process of sleeving a Sennheiser PC 350 headset, and i dont want the mic cable to get lonely (As in, i sleeved the sound cable :P) I have to cut off the mic jack, and solder a new one on after i've got that sleeving+heatshrink on. Tips or answers would be G.R.E.A.T

Get the proper tool and you will have zero problems removing the pins.
even using the $20 official molex tool, I couldn't get hardly any of the connectors off my HX750WQuote:

I have a question about sleeving my hx1000w.
the 24 pin and 8 pin are normal just like on all other PSU's , however the molex,sata and pci-e power cables are all flat (see image for reference)
How would I have to sleeve those to make them look good, I'd like to sleeve all the wires individually and not just pull over some sleeve and heat-shrink over the original cable because that doesn't look good at all IMO
My guess would be to insert a small knife between the individual wires and cut the stuff that bonds them together, but this would be quite difficult and the possibility of damaging the wires doesn't make it a very good idea

Don't use a knife just start at one connector and pull them apart its not hard at all. Warning though I did it to a PCI power cable and it looks like garbage better to just leave them together.
hmm, could it be possible to use the sata sleeving from mdpc-x as they are flat aswell. Or I could buy another PSU and sell this one, though that's a bit of a waste

@maxietheboss: I have an HX1000w myself and all I did was gently (you don't have to go too slow) seperate the wires by hand. Just pull them apart. No trouble at all. As far as the ferrite core pieces on the modular PCI-E connectors: use an xacto knife and cut the heatshrink length wise, then pull the heatshrink off (it is stuck with glue). After that, you can remove the connector on either end and slide the ferrite core off. Very easy PSU to sleeve in my opinion.

look on page 25 i think it is. he has the same psu and sleaved them individually and it looks good imo. just pull the wires apart with your hands they arent that hard to pull apart at all

Don't have time during the week so it'll probably be in another 2 months that I'll do the job :P
Just finished one 6+2 PCI-e (the +2 was a major pain in the ass as the shrink wouldn't fit into the connector), and I finished off with the front panel stuff. Thanks to Antec for providing me a few replacement parts so promptly. Sleeving done wrong meant I had no power/reset switches :D

i used your idea on my crossfire connectors :D mine isnt mdpcx sleeve though so ou can see the connectors just a little but whatever. im happy with it. I have some tripple braid sleeve but none big enough to fit over the connector parts

[Impressions]: I prefer the tigther weave of the MDPC-X sleeving and actually the CleanCut Sleeving is not bad either. The NZXT extension for the price is not bad for someone who doesnt want to pay the price premium of the MDPC-X sleeving and time it would take to sleeve it.
Question: Does the official Molex ATX pin remover that Nils sells work? I didn't order one initially as I thought staples would work, but they didn't so now I'm looking at ordering one. Also, is it easier to just cut and crimp new connectors?
Making a 5v LED mod. I picked up a 100ohm resistor and a wide angle 800mcd LED from Radio Shack. I calculated the current rating for the LED being attached to a 5v rail and figured a single 100ohm resistor should be ok. After it was soldered, I used some heat shrink and sleeving. =D
