Anyone have a multimeter and a P5E running the Rampage bios [or any for that matter]?
Just wondering if the extra fan headers are working so i can solder on pins to them for extra mounts.....

i have tested my P5E (WS Pro.) today successfully at 480MHz FSB with a Q6600 without any problems. I will update to a Q9550/9650. Is there a chance that this board will also reach FSB480 with a 45mn CPU ? Or will this x38 Board generally not reach this FSB with 45mn CPUs ?
Strange i did it also ( a time ago ) and everything was fine , its sound stupid but remove cpu and install it again , u never know.Quote:

this is my second p5e, the first one was flashed to this same bios and all was good, i was playing with the PCI-E freq and it black screened the same as this,
so i RA'd it, only had this for a week or so and it has the same symptoms. i did remove the cpu and start again but still no post :(
ok, now im lost for words,stripped the mobo bare again for the 3rd time, left it for bout an hour with no battery, put it back together and
wot do you know, its goin fine :confused: , everything running and reading as it should , absolutly baffled , thanks for your input Cranox :up:

Hi, I have a P5E and this is the best overclock i'v got. I haven't found max FSB yet.

I'd go higher but my temps were getting high plus I needed a lot more volts to boot with even a 1 FSB increase.

I have a P5E3 vanilla, standard non-Deluxe or Premium. Does anyone get random freezing?
System is OCCT stable, Memtest Stable, and Windows Vista memory diagnostics stable...3dmark Vantage Stable, etc
QX9650 @ Qx9770 1.225V Vcore.
4GB OC 1600Mhz Platinum EB edition CL7 RAM (2x2GB)
G92 GTS 512MB
X-Fi
Vista x64 with SP1
Enermax 720W PSU
I cannot put my finger on what is causing the problem, CPU has been RMA'd, Graphics card has been RMA'd and the RAM was changed from 4x1GB to 2x2GB
Freezing/Hard Locking is entirely at random, sometimes even when system is idle.

Nice clocks fatguy. Glad to see you are getting along with your P5E. Thanks for posting up enough cpuz pics to see you are using bios 702. Too Bad you can't squeeze more from your memory. It would probable put you into the high11.xxx range on pi. Still you got some serious good clocks there!!

can anyone recommend me please a software fan speed controller for P5E which works under Vista x64 and does not require hard reboot to apply changes?
I could get more out of my RAM, I didn't know it made a difference back then. I probally could have run 4-4-4-12. I might try it again some time ;).Quote:

Thanks Weldzilla, I just popped in an e8400 (Q807) to go with my new G.Skill RAM --G.skill 6400 HZ (mine has a green PCB though). Not sure it's a good as your older stuff -- black PCB?
It's better than the PC 8000 2 x 2G that I had -- right now I'm at 1129 MHz 5-5-5-15 2.0 VDIMM in BIOS
