Please do, that would be awesome. It would be very interesting for you to run an HDTach test (before & after). I'm most curious if adding an Audigy would solve 3 main problems:Quote:

Hi, i have been doing some overclock and could only reach 360FSB (from 266) RAM 720 (from 667), 2.88Ghz from (2.13)... well i am not whining because this my first overlcok ..hehe.
The point is that i was only using CrystalCPUID, TAT, Orthos and CPUz to test my overclock. Once i could not push the FSB anymore, browsing i found Speedfan to watch voltages...
Well, there was an "AUX" temperature reading 127C in speedfan!!!!!!!!! Oh my god!! i went into the bios and set default and auto values, my overclock was gone for god's sake...but at least that AUX temperature should be much more less..... WRONG!!!!
It is still reading 127C as i am typing this!!! I did some research and found out that this AUX could be the Northbridge.
*****EDIT****
Just to clarify, this AUX temperature is not the SYSTEM temperature shown in AI Suite or PC Probe 2.
SYSTEM is at 34C and CPU at 41C.
The AI Suite, PC Probe 2 and Speedfan agree with CPU and SYSTEM temperature readings, BUT SPEEDFAN SHOWS an EXTRA "AUX" temperature reading of 127C!!!!
*****EDIT****
There is plenty of air circulating in my aluminum case, plus thermaltake Blue Orb 2 cooling all below it including northbridge heatsink.
So is this temperature normal? It is the same with or without overclock.
Could anyone of you please download speedfan and check what your AUX temperature is???
http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
Thank you!!!
that aux temp is normal man, mine is 119:) And Psyire I will have your answer later today!
@Psyire, just put back my clean ghost, installed audigy drivers, ran bootvis and my bootup now takes a max of 5 splash bars, sometimes 4,5, no more crackling sound, before I had access times of about 19-22.5ms, now I have 7.8ms. So after about 6 tests one can defenitely say that Asus and Soundmax still have alot of work to do(Soundmax wrote the buggy audio driver).
Well, what kind of problems have you experienced with your Corsair sticks? I have a 6400 C5 kit as well and at the moment they are running fine at around 800Mhz and 4-4-4-10. Maybe my problems with reaching higher than 400 FSB are related to memory issues after all...Quote:

But, is this a real reading? or is a non sense crazy invented reading taken from nowhere?
Is the northbridge?
Thanks
I didnt notice where to change the multi in the BIOS, am i missing it?
CPU tab, enable modify ratio support.
it should be under "CPU configuration" under the "Advanced" tab...if you do not have ratio support available to adjust then update your bios.
Or use cpuid to change it in windows.

Oh in the BIOS enable that option then :D Thanks
hello,i just thought i'd say hello to you p5b'ers,and say i will be joining you soon.i am getting my p5b deluxe tommorow and my chip(e6300) nxt week.
i will be using my nicely oc'able D930 for now, which in my p5wd2 i run at 4.2ghz with my fsb at 280 and ram at 933(using divider).i am hoping i can run my 930 at this speed in the deluxe until i get the new chip.
Hi loc.o i am just a newbie, but why you just did 12.65% overclock?
Hi and welcome :toast:
Not a particulair reason tbh, it just ran at 3ghz when i made the screenshot :D
Wow, that is quite a difference. So long as no other 'new' problems occur, an Audigy might be the answer at the moment. (it would be nice to know if Asus was even working on getting new sound drivers)Quote:

And How long have you run orthos guys?
Thanks!
Anything above 8 hrs for me. I can't see myself using the pc for longer than 8hrs in one go..Quote:

I have had failures at 38 hours
For me Prime is useless on Core 2 Duo.. 3807MHz 1,43V 5h stable(stopped), but random errors while gaming, sometimes after 5 minutes! For full stability at gaming i must use 1,48V!
I've a new problem - board clocks back to fsb 322!
i fixed everything in the bios to fsb 400 and it worked fine... but after some time the whole system just jumps back to fsb 322... This isn't just a measuring fault, superpi goes up too...
"My solution" is a windows clocking tool to drag back the fsb to 400... but this can't be the solution... i mean... wtf?
Thanks!
Andrew.

it seams your CPU have the FSB wall even worse at 430 mhz :(

Guys I have a question about temps.
I HAD a ds3 and was getting temps using coretemp around 40 idle 53 load @ 400x8 @ 1.425vcore
I now have a p5b and I am using the same 400x8 @ 1.425vcore but my idle temps are about 41-43c and my load temps climb to about 59/60c. First of all is high 50s safe?
Also I have tried removing my scythe ninja and remounting it taking great care and properly applying as5 per there instructions(thin line of gunk down the middle).
I have noticed that coretemp and the asus probe software report different temps. Coretemp and probe show the same temps for idle however under load coretemp never climbs higher than about 55c however asus probe hits 59/60c. Which one is more accurate?
wow that is terrible. You have a sound card or using on board sound?Quote:
