I received the "in stock" e-mail alert from ZZF as well (on the E6700). If they truly did re-stock, it's amazing that they sold out so quickly @ $690 apiece (and I thought $599 was alot :eek:). Unbelievable.

I mean, through techdata my companies cost is only $321 so I would imagine companies like zipzoomfly and newegg which order a lot of these and more than our company will get a better deal. That's a pretty good profit on a CPU as tech margins aren't usually very great anyway.

Cost of an E6600 from a multi million dollar company (CompUSA) is 323.16 for an e6600
cost from Ingram Micro is 321.xx so i cant fathom why Newegg is getting away with this.

Any company that has an oppertunity to make a little $$ is going to do so. I've not seen anyone complaining about Dell yet. Yet go to thier website and configure a core2 system. I did this last week and kept coming up with around $2000 for a e6300 system. Mind you thats the lowest base cost core2 system too.
This is a supply/demand problem. Almost anything anyone sells in this situation will be priced high. B&M stores put crap prices on almost everything yet nobody complains about it. I couldn't tell you how many $20 or so products cost about $0.25 to make.

I don't see why you are singling out Newegg. I just froogled the E6400 and E6600. Everyone who has them in stock is charging about $300 for the 6400, and $400 for the 6600. Froogle will quote $250 for a 6400, you go to the website and it is really $300. ZZF shows 6600's for $339 until they get them in stock, and they go to $399.Quote:
