I actually just cut the magnet with scissors - they're usually really crappy magnets :)
yay my mdpc shipment came today but since lights fading fast and i must take good pictures (listening to master nils :D)
tips on corsair 1000w psu ??
Magnet? Isn't it a ferrite bead?
What size would be appropriate for those USB/Firewire/audio cables that plug into the mobo?
I used the SATA size sleeving for the USB/Firewire/audio cables.
You can also remove the vinyl ( or whatever it is) from the USB/Firewire/Audio cables before sleeving them, if they are too bulky.
I struggle with cutting heatshrink - have to cut multiple pieces, then match them up to get even ones for 24-pin ATX, etc. I imagine many of you use something like this, but I just figured it out recently - stole my husband's little guillotine-like chopping board to do my heatshrinks - works great:

Sleeved my radiator fans with mdpc-x sleeving - I'd rather do a 24-pin unisleeving than do these:

wooow the Chopper!
those GTs looks great in red :)
TBH, I take the largest knife I have and just slice it.
wiii, sleeved my headset + a 24pin extension, and some of the pci-ex cables for the HX 1000W.

Some of theese shots were my first try at macro photos :p:
Some IC's from my DAC to my amp.
-Neutrik RCAs
-Nylon Multi-filament
-Mogami Star Quad Mic cord
I am NEVER getting Neutrik RCAs ever again....the ground solder contact felt like it was going to snap at any point, the cable opening was way too small (had to drill it out) and the insides of the barrel would catch on the nylon since it wasn't perfectly smooth.

@ob1 - i just cracked it with a hammer :D well, not hard, but still enough to crack the ring. Havent had any problems after sleeving, so i reckon they dont do much. But this is as far as I know, dont use me as a guide :p:
The most dangerous outcome can be a flattened finger I guess :D
Always a pleasure to see the great sleeving work posted here!
Here's my two cents from me current rig before I start tackling the full sleeving job to come:

gonna be sleaving my corsair 950tx soon any advice would be great. been reading the crap out of this thread. ordered a pin remover kit because all my staples are to flimsy or to big to fit in the atx connectors :(
Best I could do with my short SLI bridge...wish the exposed bits were black
Wonder if I could tape of the connector ends and give it a quick spray with some paint before sleeving it?

@Fhantastic: Fair enough :D
@CptDreadFlint: Looks great! I love the grand bleu and black combination. I also see a little hint of aquamarine in the back ;)
@JonKbmw: Would you mind sharing your method? I'm getting some white soon and it would be very helpful to hear the best techniques :D
@Soul_train: Second pic looks nice. :) Next time don't compress the image so much though ;)
Anyways this was a little experiment: Sleeving two cables together instead of one. I used black wire, otherwise the sleeve -- stretched over two 18 awg wires -- would show the ulgy wire color underneath it. Thoughts?

Nice, Crys1s.
I did the two wire/sleeve on my first PSU - actually found it a bit tougher to "manage" the sleeved wires in the case compared to uni-sleeving.
Some more Black & White (with a tad of copper).
I will re-sleeve the cable going to the Vertex, it was the first I did and it didn't came out very well.
