Yes, I'm annoyed that they screwed up their inventory and didn't have the Retail versions as they indicated.

However I do feel their damage control was appropriate. ($10 off, OEM substitution, and expedited shipping).

They could have delayed all our Retail orders until they had Retail inventory which could have been several more weeks. However they offered us their precious stash of OEM E6600's for $329 which they could have easily sold for around $400+ in the current market. (Screwegg is at $459 and XPCGEAR is at $419 down from $499!!).

I'm just happy to be getting a processor at this point. I've had all the other parts to my new rig ready to go for the last month and wasn't looking forward to the prospect of having to wait another month or more.

Was hoping for a retail version of the processor, but I guess it doesn't really matter as I won't be using the stock HSE, and the warranty will be void as soon as I overclock it.

Have fun putting that new rig together! :D

zipzoomfly raises prices on E6600 to $399

I just got an "in-stock" alert from zip zoomfly.com 2 hrs ago the E6600 was listed at $339.00 , it's now $399.00

I used to love this site for purchasing, but now they've gotten rid of the free 2nd day air and they are starting to get a habit for raising prices when items come back in stock as well.

Your best bet is Ewiz. They have the best prices around and are the only ones not price gouging. I ordered a E6400BOX from them at 5PM today and it shipped today also. Should be here Thursday via 2 day. I'll wait until a better stepping (7,8?) comes around before I sell it. Of course I'll OC the hell out of this one on high-end water.

Buy.com is still at $339 and you can try and use the $15 off $200 coupon for new customers.

I have noticed they are the only one who didnt gouge too. Never shop there before, hopefully I will soon.

my only complaint with ewiz is no Amex, about to order an 805 from outpost while I wait a week or two and hope for Tankguys to get stock for the preorders

Thats what I did when I couldn't get a conroe on launch date. 3.8ghz on air using conroe parts :cool:
