Is this a fixed resistance? Or will a VR pot be necessary for booting @ different temperatures? Lastly, your pic states that the trace is connected to pinA24 in the socket....do you mean to connect the points with a jumper wire? Or is it just a description of where the circuit is mapped? If I understand that mod correctly the connection to the CPU pin that monitors the diode is severed, then the pot is used to create a false reading in BIOS. Stephen I think all you need is in the pic, no other wire is needed as kyosen indicates it's connected internally.

OK, I think I understand that part BUT I'm wondering if a fixed resistor can be used in place of the pot. I used my last 3 50k pots on an x1900xtx yesterday, but I have a few fixed resistors I can wire in series or other VR's which can be set @ 17k. I just need to know if the value for the resistance may/may not have be changed for whatever reason......Quote:

Mike I don't think the cooling type effects this at all. I think the mod creates a false BIOS reading that is always the same regrdless of cooling, we need to hear more from kyosen.
My fear is having never cut a trace how to do it correctly :confused:

Im planning running -40 phasechange (evap temp), do I need to do anything in order to do that?? - And LN2 for benchies ofcause, but booting and cooling afterwards wont be a problem then?
Actually, looking at the pic again,if Kyosen has set the value between legs 3 and 2 to 17K, the resistance from r570 -> pin is 33k. I'm curious as well why the resistor can't simply be replaced by another with the value that is necessary.Quote:
