Well I've had two boards now in the same case and the same (relative) ambient temps. I have to say this 1.01G I have runs at least 10c higher. It, however, was my rma replacement and whoever had it before definitely tossed it around a bit. I don't think one capacitor is standing straight.

Does anyone have a 1.01G and have you found that to have higher temps?

I'm personally thinking its the passive setup not making a good connection. I alread put AS5 on the aluminum HS but when my new case comes I'm thinking of pulling the passive setup and seeing what I got. If its like anythink like other boards, it'll be POS in regards to making good connection.

BTW, I'm on Air w/ these tems and I even have 3 auxilary fans trying to circulate air against the MB.... shrug?

From what I've read it makes virtually no difference for most people. Basicly it seems to be "don't bother unless you're having issues with your current one".

Now, I have a problem. I wouldn't normally post on a board like this, but I've run outta places to ask.

Basicly, I don't seem to be able to use dividers on this board and I'm wondering if anyone else is having or has had the same issue? I can set up a divider and run my HHT at my rams rated speed(250), but if I set the divider to 183(11:12) and set my HTT to 275(ram should be at 250) the system won't boot. I've had the HTT up to 280 using windows overclocking stuff, and the ram is fine. CPU also has plenty of headroom. Are the dividers broken?

Yes, Im in the same boat, same prroblems. Ive treid diffrent CPUs and Ram, thisis just a bad board.

I'm planning on speaking to Asus tech support on Monday. I'll see if the dividers not working is RMA material or not. It seems to be a fairly irregular problem, hopefully they'll be willing.

I dont use the dividers (mem 250) but I did b4 i got the mem I have know. and the dividers worked fine for me what bios u using

I have the exact same problem, when using the divider the board won’t post, but overclocking in windows works fine with no errors. Strange.

I'm on the 903 BIOS here. Can't update at the moment because winflash and Asusflash tool don't work for me(it's a known and unsolved problem with Asus boards aparently, works for some, not for others). I'm only going to go and get a floppy drive if I know different BIOS' makes a difference.

I've used both the 166 and 183(5:6 and 11:12) dividers with my HTT set to 250 with no problem, but thats pointless. Setting my HTT to 275(rams rated at 250 so thats perfect) the thing won't boot.

edit: It's a long shot, but seeing as I'm using UCCC, and I think pfgp, is it possible this mobo hates UCCC ram? What stuff are you using Pinacle?

To update the bios use a USB pen drive, the board boots fine, and it's safer and quicker.

Just use asus update from a safe stable clock to flash the bios...i have had no isses for many bios flashes.

Another way would be a fat32 partition on your HDD and boot to the asus CD which has a boot dos, then move to the C drive(fat32) and run afudos and the bios off that....

does somebody uses x2 4400+ (110W, older model, ADA in index) with this m/b?

asus online compatibility tables shows what from x2 family supported all processors except this one - is it typo or real compatibility issue? (strange what x2 4400+ 89W (ADV in index is supported)

Pinnacle, what BIOS are you using? I was wondering if maybe the divider issue was BIOS related. I still havn't managed to upgrade mine. No winflash programs work, and Barts BIOS upgrade CD failed for some reason. Hoping to move up to the 1009 within the next few days though, I'm currently on the 903. This is a huge obstacle to me, gotta get the dividers working or move over to DFI :(

I had an A8N32 a month ago. Cpu overclocked nice but memory was limited. 255ish Ballistix 2gig. I'm using an ultra-d and I can run my memory 295 1:1 2.6v, 280 2.5v. Too bad the ultra-d have a noisy chipset cooler :(
Shame on me...I ordered an other A8N32 :slapass:

Ya, Im haveing the same memory issues on it. Just replace the chipset cooler, easy.

Return it.
