I'm just curious, would you guys give up a 3.1Ghz dual Opty for a 3.4Ghz single opty? :D
I'd just ordered a 170 from zipzoomfly today....$400 with free 2nd-day shipping is a good deal. I have no idea what stepping it's going to be, still trying to debate if I really want to yank out my 148 cabne which has been running rock solid for many weeks at 3.40ghz under single stage :D :D decision decision.....

I'm like you ben. I have had a 3800 and a 180. They were ok but I still like high MHz and the snap it brings. I don't do lots of things at once so even though the dc may be working for me on little things, I can't tell it. That said I have two 165's coming today to play with. I like playing with them but they are such heartbreakers in that one core will really oc and the other holds you back. You know all that with as many as you have had.Quote:

I've settled with running 2.7Ghz since it's happy there with only 1.35v. That sounds pretty good considering I have a measly air cooling setup - the problem is trying to take it any higher than that. I've not done any extensive testing yet, but it's certainly not happy at 2.8 even with 1.5v going to it.
No way. I wont go back to single core. My x2 kept me happy at 2.4, i know this opty will as well (and hopefully at a higher speed). Most newer games and aps are multithreaded (or will be soon), and that 3.1 will start to show its power in no time.Quote:

I'm positive this chip has more in her, I was a complete newbie 5 days ago but still getting these results. I was playing with 2700mhz last night but couldn't get her stable. Temps stayed around 44C loaded but would bomb out in prime. Was so late didn't have much time to play with more vcore so I dropped back down and primed it at these settings.

Looking forward to those results, hope you get a new stepping which has potential, as ive said to you, would be really happy with 2.8Ghz on my water cooling. From the threads ive been reading it seems i would have to be really lucky to get this clock speedQuote:

It is dualprime stable 100% 2.3Ghz a 1.3V (1.28v Cpuz), the temperatures are very low, in idle (eMule 24h) only 18º.

The room temperature in the box is of 22º
What is the problem? Very simple.
I need 1.83V in bios (1.8V cpuz) to put it to 2.8Ghz (255x11).
To 1.8V the CPU does not surpass 40º in dualprime; in dualprime core0 is not stable but core0 supports 7h singleprime.
This opty don't boot OS to 2.4Ghz with vcore default 1.35v (1.328V cpuz):confused:

The temperature at idle is about 46c...and I can't seem to bring it down since shuttle has integrated cooling...not gonna bother with modding it unless anyone knows fans that I can replace for the SN25p.
those temps are NOT good, you shouldnt pass 50c on load (to be on the safe side)
