Hey guys, I need some advice, on running a 730 on a plain p4p800 dlx mobo. Looking at the first post, I see that it is compatible but I don't see which bios I should be using for this mobo. Should I use the new p4p800 1021.006 or one of the modified p4c800-e, p4p800-e, or p4p800se bios? Sorry just a little confused. Thanks for any help.

Interesting benchmark results, P-M shows a huge edge in Super Pi and 3DMark2001SE. However, when it comes to 3DMark03 and 3DMark05, the performance differences are minimal. I guess we can pretty much conclude GPU is the bottleneck here.
I think it seems to help quite a bit with 3D03. I pull a 15.5K in 3Dmark03, with a 6800nu. Most other 6800nu's seem to do 12K-13K.Quote:

Thanks to my friend stryg from Denmark I got a p4gpl-x. :toast: I am running a 750 and it freezes at 2800. 2750 seems to be max stable. I set jumper to 533 fsb. I see a lot of people say set it to 400.
Im glad everything is up and running.
Have you already modded the board for more vdimm?
Still on stock cooling? I gained ~200MHz going from stock to the 7700Cu on my 730.

Hey all, my mate sent me his Dothan 750 as he thought it was borked.
I've tried every setting possible in BIOS and on the CT479, but the chip will get to my dual boot windows screen, and when I choose which Windows, it just goes to a blank {read: still on, just nothing on it} screen.
The chip seems to have a small little bubble like thing about 1mm from the die to the right in the middle.

Where can i find the stepping on the pcb? neither c0 or b1 is on my cpu. and How does intel present the batch numbers on the pcb?Quote:

Ok. but still like to know where intel puts the batch numbers on the pcb, and also would like to know witch the best batches are. like the 0020 till 0060 from amd.

When using SetFSB or Clockgen to adjust FSB, does it make a difference if bootup at 200fsb or 201fsb then apply the change?
yes, 200 uses tighter timings and some tweak, so will not usually reach as high as 201..
Also you don't get locks at 200.
I go either 199 or 201, 199 is much faster when you scale but mine won't pass around 225 yet at 201 it's good to 305.

clockgen has always shown 72/36 (what i set in bios) and never changes even when i boot @ 200...:cool:
You don't get locks for ATi X8xx cards, and I think its the same case for the 9700/9800. All nVidia cards get locks. Don't ask me why.

Few days ago I lost my adapter becouse of bed soldering, but i will buy another.
With my 730 taken out of hp laptop I achived 2980 MHZ on P4P800-E Full moded (droop mod, dimm mod and my new V-CORE mod) with ZALMAN.
The best super PI I get was about 26.870, I am not satisfied. I think that the problem were bad timmings. WIth my HYNIX D4 I can reach alnost 290 1:1 but with 3-4-4-6. I did many tests and I realized that with much lower frecuency but with timings 2-3-3-5 i got the same results!!! My HYnić can`t reach 2-2-2-5 even as ddr 400.
I am looking for 2x512Mb but cant be slower than mine. I have read that old school BH5 would be perfect. I have find 2 options on ebay.
What are yours opinions?
