maybe while testing they saw that they found a new heat source for steam engine??? :P
i think we will see in 1 week.

I'm still not going to install it.
this temps are pretty much meaningless, no ambient temp or what components where used in the water cooling setup.
According to multiple reports Radeon R9 290 will easily beat GeForce GTX 780 in almost any game or benchmark. Of course that?s while being priced significantly lower (even 290X is cheaper) than GTX 780. Earlier leak from Overclockers UK revealed that overclocked R9 290 can even beat the R9 290X or the TITAN in some scenarios.
The R9 290 will be released on October 31st, for the price around $399 to $449 (to be confirmed).

Is there a results thread for these? I hear chispy has some great scores up.

Radeon R9 290 (non-X) Launch Pushed Back a Week
Quote:
Launch of AMD's Radeon R9 290 (non-X) is reportedly pushed back by a week, to Tuesday, November 5, 2013. The card was expected to launch on October 31, 2013. The reason for this delay? AMD reportedly developed a new driver that significantly improves performance on the R9 290. AMD pushed this driver onto reviewers at the last minute, and asked them to re-bench their R9 290 samples from scratch, extending their NDA till the 5th. The driver reportedly makes the R9 290 extremely competitive with GeForce GTX 780. A side-effect of that would be that the recently launched Radeon R9 290X could be rendered unattractive. It remains to be seen if the driver also proportionately improves performance on the R9 290X, and how AMD ends up pricing the R9 290.
Upcoming graphics cards launches:

AMD Radeon R9 290 — November 5th
Hawaii PRO with 2560 Stream Processors and 4GB memory.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti — November 7th
A faster TITAN with (supposedly) 2688 CUDA cores.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti — mid-November
GK106 with 960 CUDAs
NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Ultra– December
I won’t believe it until I see it
Its nice to see Nvidia with its pants down, names are getting pretty ridiculous :) .TITAN ULTRA HULK SMASH edition ;-) .
Anyway, so thats why theres no 290 reviews today.Competition is heating up properly, who knows ,maybe this christmas there will be actual price reductions instead of pumping the price up!
No Trolling please !
Caught with their pants down by releasing an uncrippled version of almost year old silicon?
Don't believe everything that VideoCardz is reporting, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that NVIDIA isn't releasing four cards faster than the current GTX 780 (they forgot the "780 GHz Edition" i.e. a revised core)
I'm surprised by the amount of BS being tossed about by several well respected sites as of late.
Surprise no site "leaked" their 290 review, claiming they never got the delay to Nov 5 email.
Heh, that box picture sure gives a hot impression ;).
Well, i didnt mean that nvidia didnt have the answer for it ready, however it seems they were surprised by how good ati offering turned out to be.
Price reductions, new models, all just after r290x premiere. All in all quite a mess on nvidia side.Dont get me wrong, i KNOW that fully enabled GK110 is a better chip overall (quite a big bigger too tho),and dont forget that fully enabled GK110 were hard to come by, defects on them for some time were very high.
All i see however, is pure gold.Hawaii made all our lives better :)
And if Titan Ultra is going to be real, IT IS going to be funny.
this will give a better idea as to when to expect. (too lazy to open up a new thread)

I won't call an hot, noisy, power hungry and already overclocked chip pure gold.
Seems AMD got problems with 2304sp neutered GK110 version (and now, with the price cut, that's even worse) so with the 2880sp, we all know the coming result.
I got good expectations regarding Hawaii but I'm quite disappointed from what AMD deliver to us.
So.. every GPU ever, is not pure gold. Ok, I can agree to that
780Ti will probably beat 290x for now, at low resolution. At high resolution it probably could be anyone's game.Quote:

Totally, only dropped the prices of the GPU market. I guess you like $650+ 780's though by your other posts.Quote:

Just forced competition to drop prices is all it did. What a flop. So far this card has delivered with exception to cooling but after watching a friend play BF4 on 50% fan for an hour the bashing of heat/noise is def overblown hyperbole. For now on, take all the heat/noise complainers ( that do not own) it with a grain of salt.
Right, why Vario uses this term, I don't know.
From the review I read, I tend to believe that 780Ti will win in 1080p and 1440pQuote:

In 2160p maybe but that a really small market niche. Screens are really expensive and when 4K will arise, other archs will come and will put GK110 and Hawaii ashamed.
I already said that price is the most important point with Hawaii.Quote:

Drop market prices but finally don't get market share up is no success for AMD. nVidia price slash is not really a surprise and was expected also as GK110 had no competitor until now.
i just wish there was block button in this forum some users are really annoying. Wth you are still commenting on product if you clearly don't like brand or card . This is like mission to some fanatics seems they think that their beloved company will pay for their royality lol
I'm not fanatic at all.
I did buy an HD 7970 card in response of Titan launch.
I' m a long time ATI/AMD/Intel/nVidia user. Changing camp is no problem for me.
Jeez, seems like you cant get either sayings nor sarcasm.
Well if were being literal here, chip cant be noisy too you know, and most chips are hot (a chip as in silicon chip, not a potato chip!).
However i called it "pure gold" as in "a very good thing that has come to us" because it was much needed in this market, prices were going up up.Now, maybe hawaii isnt bringing down titan at low res, and it will get beaten at low res by its successor (which you know, will be more power hungry and hotter to achieve this). But its VERY VERY important that because of this you will get even an opportunity to buy this 780 ti ,and moreover not at the 1500$ price tag.
And for some, god forbid, 290X is a good value with good performance ,having on top of that trueaudio and mantle support means that this 20W higher power consumption in gaming (because you know, a niche number of people play furmark) is not going to matter.
And to say that high res for this types of cards is a niche market, is well at least doubtful statement.
Btw ,you do know that 290x in its QUIET setting is OVERALL a bit faster than 780 ? Delievered too you at premiere at 100$ less.Yeah ,what a fail (that was a SARCASTIC statement).
Chill peoples, it's pretty much the holiday season you know.
Everyone should be happy with both nvidia and amd.
Regardless if you don't care either way or not.
