Hi guys- any suggestions what else to do/try
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit using 3 x 2 GB OCZ GOLD DDR 3 1600mhz and Windows is only seeing 4 GB total ram but CPU Z is reporting 6 GB?
See print screens below

Asus support is saying that it's the Memory Controller which is the CPU- I should RMA it while OCZ is saying it's the board.
Not sure what to do.
I tested each stick individually and they work in slots 2 4 and 6 and that's how you are supposed to use them assuming you have 3 sticks.
Other then that the system is rock stable.
^ reinstall cpu and check very closely for bent cpu pins.
Also, make sure you don't overtighten your cpu cooler, that can do it too.
Wow- reseated the cpu and no bent pins from what I can see and now I can only see 2 GB of ram
Two things, either your cpu pins aren't making good contact or you need to reinstall your ram a few times. Try blowing the sockets out with some canned air. I'm leaning towards a cpu socket issue mainly because after you messed with it the issue got worse.
clean your CPU with alcohol or even better electic cleaner which you can also spray into the socket
and reseat a few times...watch your mount
@Infected_ and anyone else who's using the v2 0001 bios..
What's the max blck you can boot into Windows with using it..? I'm struggling to boot with it at 210. 209 works but needs plenty of volts, I've tried various settings and not just throwing more vcore at it.. With the standard Asus bios I could get 214 at about 1.41ish. I know there's not that much difference between 209 and 214 but it's bugging me. Going to try the v1 0006 bios again and see how that goes.. Am just curious to see what others have experienced... :)
i was semi-stable at 205*21 with the 0001 bios, but didn't get to the 210 bclk, sorry. i've crossflashed back to 0006, the bios 0001 doesn't have full xeon support... ive changed my cpu yesterday, to a w3520 (#3931A364). looking good so far. using less 0.06xv of vcore for the same speed of my 920 D0.

Can I use this product to clean the socket and the cpu?

I just finished installing my new system and before overclocking: something interesting already:
CPU-Z reports X58 chipset ID 13 so Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboards released now have chipset B3 (board is rev1.02g).
No need to go for another board just for that anymore so ;)
I was able to boot at 217 under phase, probably higher if I would have had more time. 209 seems to be the limit for me with water but it's only good for a few passes in prime before bsod.
yeah this, see if you can find 90% alcohol.
You can also check the screws on your retainer, I've seen them arrive pretty loose. They are the hex head screws at the four corners of your socket retainer.
Waiting my Gskill trident and ill be back with my OC result.
Currently 20x200 but with 1 stick of cheap 1066 memory running 1200mhz ( lowest possible ! )
4ghz was my goal, CPU and MOBO seems ok at this speed.
Cheers Infected_ & S1N3...
209 seems to be the highest I can get in at on both the v1 & v2 bios also (altho not done stability testing as it's just about stable for benching with).. Looks like for the time being I'll have to be happy with that untill the watercooling arrives (at some point in the future!!). Cheers again guys, thanks and have fun with your new chip Infected_ :)
G.Skill Trident really shines with this board and I didn't even try to push them hard yet.
First time I get 7.9 index from Win7 for RAM: Timings 7,8,7,21 1T 1.64v @ 1718MHz:

Yes, it was easy. No tweakings needed. Worked on first LinX run.
I used bios 610 (I don't stop switching bios to find throttling trigger spot: I start to throttle at 4.5GHz when temps are >72°C apparently so not a problem here).
I confirm also: Avoid bios 704 if you can: it's a pain...
Timings: 6,7,6,18 1T 1.66v @ 1600MHz:

damn my trident's.... i can only run at that speed with 1.74v... :|

@ nkresho, we have the same fabrication week, my batch is 3931A364 :)
i would like to achive a 4.5gzh clock for 24/7 use....i have just got myself some good ram....Corsair Dominator GT 1866mzh........nice ram.....so i think i will be able to overclock my cpu to 4.5ghz easy now.....the only thing is i need some help....with the voltage settings and timing of the ram.....was thinking 1.4 v core and timing of 8-9-8-24 T1....would you say this would be ok to achive a 4.5ghz clock....FSB set at 225x20 so this would give me 4.5ghz......i have tryed this but it dont boot....so i dont know what to do.........so please help me.....!!!!
Lucky you as I just finished doing what you are looking for ;)

PS: Got to add that it's a rare batch 920... You'll probably need more voltage for cpu & qpi. Your Ram is different so I can't help for those.
Do not use Turbo: disable all energy saver settings like Speedstep and such (see my post for settings) and at the end you will be able to select '21' as cpu multiplicator.
@ LostHawk, sorry man, but 4.5ghz without HT on is like cheating... i can do 4.4ghz HT on :D

i don't imagine what this cpu is capable without ht

But if you dont need HT ... Im mainly gaming and HT didnt proved to be usefull for gaming. ( ATM )
